I distinctly remember this episode as the one where I started to (very begrudgingly) like Bakugo. "What part of her is frail?" - what a good line. And Todoroki backstory is next!

You probably ddin't notice but at the start of the fight Bakugo called Ochako 'Round Face', but by the end he called her by her name. She's earned his respect.

The author really did a great job writing this. He didn't leave the details out and show us Bakugo's perspective later. Everything was on screen, yet our attention was lead to Uraraka's perspective only. The viewer, as the in universe audience, was so sure that Uraraka was a weak little girl and Bakugo was that evil bully, that we completely missed out some critical points. It was actually noticable beforehand that he was the only one in the whole stadium who took Uraraka serious. Her plan failed in the end, but you could see bruises on Bakugo's arm and he was shaking, saying "that was close". She brought him to his limits in a way, noone else did yet and it went intentionally unnoticed by everyone. Horikoshi (the author) is a real master in reader guidance. He shows us everything, but leads us to false conclusions with our emotions, thoughts and preassumtions. Then he opens our eyes later with the tiny implication "you could have known".
