BOOM BABY! We’re back in Kuzco’s domain for the sequel to one of Disney’s funniest movies. This time, Kronk is starring in his own animated movie with Kronk’s New Groove. In this review, however, you’ll notice that my groove might’ve been thrown off by this movie, as I’ll be looking into why this Disney sequel is not as fun or funny as the emperor’s movie. Maybe it would’ve been better if it actually were The Emperor’s New Groove 2.

Such a shame, I did like this movie. Sure admittingly it's not as Fantastic as the original that's for sure, But I say it's a half-good/half-bad movie at least for me. What I personally enjoy is the Involvement with Yzma. She was always my most favorite and the funniest Disney villain, especially with Eartha Kitt's performance In this and the TV show. I always come back to see it just for that, for my enjoyment. For the Bad, that would be with Miss Birdwell. I like romance films as much as the next guy, but this is the kind of romance that makes it feel like cringe, even when the climax comes in just makes it hard to watch. Also, I get the selfless act and Tipo did own up to the sabotage, but I still wished he hadn't done it in the first place which just makes it frustrating, and obvious the outcome will turn out to be. So yeah understandably not a great movie, but not a terrible one either.

Next is Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers

Awesome review and yeah missed opportunity for some original ideas for this one. Next one, without a doubt is Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers! That one is so underrated. And it was so great, it was adapted as a world in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Speaking of which, I still gotta continue with Birth By Sleep.

As someone who does really enjoy the original Emperor’s New Groove, I really did not like this movie, while it is debatable if this would be considered one of the worst direct to home media Disney sequels out there it is still absolutely subpar to the original. The story is a constant mess and tries so hard to be like the original, the animation looks cheap and tries so hard to look like the original, and the characters are just a shell of their former selves, I will admit it was nice that they did bring back most of the original cast, but even they couldn’t save this one. Overall this just feels no different than most of Disney’s other direct to home media sequels and just feels like a cheap imitation of the first. So the next classic review is going to be Mickey, Donald & Goofy: The Three Musketeers, honestly I remember I used to watch this movie a lot back when I was a kid and owned the VHS of it and I remember really enjoying it, so it’s gonna be interesting if it still holds all these years later.

Well that was an interesting review I’ll give it that. Since I seen this as a kid as well a few times throughout the years, I think it unanimous that Kronk’s New Groove is nowhere near to the levels of the original film. Much of it has to do with copying of what was already done in the previous film as well with its very weak comedy. I didn’t expect Disney would reduce to having pop culture references like The Lord of the Rings for example and think that is consider funny other than making this sequel feel dated (then again we saw that happened with Chicken Little from Disney Animation as well so it shouldn’t come to shock on this one). This is not to mention the mediocre animation, bland story, and characters particularly with Kronk were reduced to being just generic arch types. Although the cast were okay since almost everyone came back to reprise their roles, the message was effective, and some certain moments can give me a chuckle and amusing at times. Overall, this is just another bad direct to home media Disney sequel that is of course nowhere near as good as its predecessor despite its moments. I don’t hate it but I do find it dull for the most part. As for The Three Musketeers with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, that is surprising to hear for the next review and I haven’t seen it in a long time since back as kid but this will interesting to see. I’ll have to rewatch it again to see if it holds up or not in terms of the overall quality of this take of The Three Musketeer but wow, never thought I would see this movie getting brought back up again.

I'm calling it in! Boom Baby! My Request is up! We have seen how Disney handled their 100th Anniversary, Let's see how Mickey will handle their 20th!

Tom Jackson

That’s another movie off my list. Thanks for taking it off for me.

Alan Oliva

You're welcome, although did you want to do it though? Just asking.

Tom Jackson

Well this was one of those movies I wanted to request Mat to review (just not yet). Don’t worry, I still have a large list of movies that are waiting to get reviewed. I already requested Steven Universe: The Movie and Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. My next one in waiting is Pokémon the Movie 2000.

I liked Kronk's New Groove fine but I see why others didn't. BUT one thing I never see anybody bring up... the stakes. the stakes are so much lower in this sequel, and I feel a good sequel elevates stakes. that's something that helps makes sequels different from their predecessors. both KNG, and much as I love it, New School, have equal or lower stakes as TENG. I'd like to see the stakes raised a bit... (possible hint at upcoming fan project? you decide)
