Update Blog - 1/29/22 (Patreon)

Well, this turned out to be quite a disastrous week. Not only did I have to delay this week's video that was meant to be this month's AniMat's Classic Reviews (again), but now I caught strep throat and made me sick (again). I think it's safe to say that this did not turn out as planned. I'm still doing the best that I can do, it's just I have to face obstacles beyond my control that's doing a lot to hold me back. But, despite that, here's what I did this week.
- No Video This Week (Again): I've already written a blog on Patreon about what's the holdup and why I didn't upload anything yet. If you wanna read more about it, then click here. But long story short, I recently got in touch with my collaborator where we finally get things going with how we'll mix our contributions to the video and have some bigger plans with it to be a little more than just a review. However, even as you're reading this, I'm still waiting for his parts so that I could add to the review itself, thus gives me no choice but to delay the review to some time next month. The one thing that I find to be a positive is that this is happening during what is considered by many to be a "dead month" on YouTube, where revenue is at its lowest after the holidays, so I can afford to delay it and have it be out where more people will see it and will help my business. It's just gonna be one step at a time to have this done, but I can say that I am almost done with my parts complete and once I get his stuff like his voiceovers, then I'm going straight to editing and finish this whole thing off once and for all.
- Finished editing the next special History video: Both during the weekend and the start of this week, I worked hard on the editing to make sure that I got everything correct and looking good. Admittedly, the challenge for this one was to get the right clips at the best quality, which did lead me to searching for the right software to get it. Afterwards, putting the pieces together did go well and even after some additional research and double-checking from my researching partner for this, I think this will be quite a special video. Maybe something a little more unexpected from my part, but this was a challenge I highly enjoyed that I end up learning a lot. I got some special plans for this, so we'll see how this will pay off later next month.
- Continuing work on AniMat's Classic Reviews: This is a bit of a continuation of the first part, but considering what I have to go through this week, there's honestly not a whole lot I can do in the first place. It was all about taking a few steps at a time. Like I said before, I did work on my additional pieces and filmed them so that now I just have to wait for the other guy to give me his materials, but at the same time, I also got started with another upcoming ACR. I didn't really get too ahead with it, since I didn't even start watching the movie (I mean, would be tough to give my honest thoughts when I'm not even 100%), but it's just a few extra bits that I've done to get some other projects going. At least I can say that I didn't do anything, even when I'm sick.
- Currently working on my review of The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild: Sickness or not, this is a project that I know needs to be done and I won't let anything back to have this review be made. There is a small blessing of not immediately releasing my King of Pigs review and that's the fact that this review will be the right way to follow up my video on Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. Just like HT, I do not have high hopes for this one, and seeing the return of a franchise that should've been left extinct does not give a good first impression. I'll say this now, I won't be making this one quickly because of the condition that I'm in. However, if the medicine I have is working well, then this should undeniably be ready for next week. All I ask is, at that time, my health becomes a lot better than what this movie may turn out to be.
So that was what I did this week. I'll say this now, if everything does go well and my medication is working, then next week should be like the comeback of my health. A positive sign would be if I got the strength to do a podcast episode on Monday. If not, then the worst case will be like last time and I'll need to go back to the ER. But we're still too early to determine, so let's see how it goes. So, until next time...
See ya later, dudes!
