Chapter 16: Unused Cover - flats (Patreon)

I feel kind of bad about doing this, because it means a lot of lost work from both me and CGI, but after drawing this cover I've decided that I can't really use it, since I just see too many problems with it now.

I had a very unusual day... I had to drive my wife to an interview at a surprisingly early part of the day, and it doesn't help that lately I've been more of a night owl, staying up late working on art and sleeping in until around noon. So I already started the day tired and losing a few hours to driving around and other stuff. When I got home and started working on this cover I had trouble finding reference to get the look I wanted to go for, so I kind of combined multiple different pieces of reference to achieve the pose I was going for. But like I said... I was pretty sleep deprived by this point. After sending the inks to CGI to flat for me and waking up I was honestly a little shocked when I saw this page... I still like the idea, but everything about it just looks so wrong to me now, Jenna especially. I'm not even sure exactly how it ended up this way. Even now I don't really trust myself to be awake enough to start work on a new cover... but I still didn't want to let the work I did put into this to waste. I'm sorry that this is delaying the start of the next chapter by a day, but I just couldn't bring myself to finish this cover considering all the problems with it. As an artist that's probably one of the hardest things to do... drop a project half-way through, because trying to fix the problems with it would probably take just as long, if not longer, than just starting over.

I went ahead and just attached the PSD for it, in case a zealous patron wanted to play around with this unused cover.
