I feel like stupid misunderstandings are usually really bad as motivators to get stories going, but mostly because they're rarely handled well. Usually in a sitcom you end up with characters who could easily solve whatever problem they find themselves involved in if they actually talked like real human beings for an entire sentence. That's partly why I chose to call the RPG they play in the comic "Witches & Wizards", since I feel like it would be much harder to have the characters not mention the name of the game and still have Anastasia think that they're actual witches. I think it helps that Anastasia already has kind of a grandiose way of talking where she's prone to metaphors and overcomplicating her speech. I hope that the next couple pages actually sound like real, human conversations... or at least as much as we could  hope for from a weird fetish comic.

Really you could make it work pretty realistically by having one or both sides start to realize the other isn't talking about the same thing. A kind of "heel realization" of sorts. And in previous conversations with Kat it was shown that Anastasia is pretty out of touch with most things relating to current youth trends and pop culture. Perhaps have Anastasia suddenly realize that the girls are referring to a board game so she just sort of rolls with it saying that she has her own unique version with some more "unusual rules".
