Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 24 of Vinland Saga!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was so incredibly beautiful!!!! The reunion I never thought we'd get to see!!!!!!!! The parts with Ylva were amazing! And omg her kids are SO CUTE!!! I love that mom completely understood Thorfinn's vision, and that we got to have some time reflecting back home (we even saw the sword....!)!!! It was so silly, goofy, sad, beautiful, incredible....!!!! Oh yeah and Einar got adopted!!!!!!!!!! What a beautiful end to such a spectacular season! I'm so glad I watched this! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

FYI, my favs are Snake, Einar & some characters you don't know yet, but I adore & respect Thorfinn, too, even though he's not my fav. 😀

I love this episode and reaction so, so much. I was just as relieved as you that this was a more relaxed, heartfelt & comedic episode after the rest of the season. It’s nice to see Einar reacting to what Iceland is like now that he is there in person. I like how Leif is teaching not only Einar about Iceland but Thorfinn as well because there was a lot of stuff he would not have really known as a kid. It’s sad that Thorfinn doesn’t know how many years he has been away from his home but I’m glad that Leif is both comforting and warning him about what to expect. I love how Ylva has become the leader of sorts of the village much like her father. It’s nice to see how protective she is of the villagers. I think it makes sense that she would react to Thorfinn in this way since in this time period it’s easier to believe someone who goes missing is dead rather than alive. I think it’s sweet that she thought Leif made up a story about Thorfinn being alive to comfort them it shows how she holds him in high regard. And really you can’t blame her for not believing this when it has been so long. Also it’s amazing that strength seems to run in the family I really love it. It sucks that Thorfinn is dealing with anxiety/fear about facing his mother after the unfortunate meeting with his sister. I love the encouragement from Bug Eyes with how precious it is to get back to your family/have a family. The meeting between Thorfinn & his mother makes me really emotional it’s really well done with the emotion felt between the two of them is amazing especially with the voice acting. I love the way she is able to see so much of her husband in him. And yeah Ylva’s kids are adorable. It feels really good to see Ari after so long & knowing that he & Ylva did end up together and I think it’s great that they are happy together. Thorfinn playing with his nieces/nephews is adorable. I think it’s understandable that even after she realizes this is actually her brother she is still angry. I love how silly Ylva completely destroying her brother with a exaggerated representation of Thor is it’s a good way to show off her strength. I think it shows that while they are both strong Thorfinn got more of his father’s skill while his sister got more of their father’s raw strength. I think it was good to get some levity here after how much heavy stuff was in this season. I love how much weight/gravity is put on the scene of Thorfinn telling his family everything he went through while the little ones sleep. I love the words the narrator uses for this stuff. It’s really emotional to see how his mother immediately is supportive & understand her son’s dream because of her own experiences while remembering her husband. And I think it’s amazing that Leif Erikson the merchant is going to figure out/help with the logistics/resources needed to create a new country. Great writing to have Thorfinn be able to put his hand fully around his father’s broken old sword when he could barely fit his hand around a knife as a child. I like the little moment of him & his sister fondly remember their dad. Also I love how quickly/easily Einar is accepted into the family. I like Thorfinn’s little walk around the village because of how it’s a moment to think about simpler times & I like how it’s most likely a good time for him to reflect on things. I love how his father saving that slave became so important to the themes of the story with how it came up again here. I was blown away by the vision Thorfinn sees of his younger self & father especially with the dialogue. I think it’s great that it’s like his father will always be with him in spirit. And man the music with the vocals at the end of the episode alongside the northern lights are beautiful. I like the flashes of different things because I think we see Pater laying flowers on Arnheid’s grave. Also it might have been a new character but I think it shows Askeladd and his resolve for his own mission & I like how it can contrast Thorfinn. A younger Helga looking at Thors back is powerful. I love Thorfinn’s new look it’s awesome also IRL guys with a lot of facial hair tend to look older than they actually are & look younger when they shave. I thought your after thoughts about the episode were great I agree with you about how amazing this show is in so many aspects. Yeah, the man theme may be peace but I agree it’s so much more. I think the best stories have stuff that feels earned much is exactly what the hope in this season is. Don’t worry I definitely got a lot out of this season & your reactions to it also what a fantastic ending. Finally I would definitely watch videos of you just talking about stories you love like this show. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

This was such a great one to end on!!! Ylva's such a boss! The reunion with the mom was so great too. I love that Ari and Ylva got together and their kids are so cute! So happy that Leif is involved! I couldn't agree more about how full circle we came with the opening episodes. And the flashes were great too, including Pater leaving flowers for Arnheid! Seeing their younger selves was so powerful!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed this season and my reactions!!! Thank you for that! Your kindness and support mean a lot!
