Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 27 of Frieren!  Awww the staff story was SO sweet, I can't take it!!! Also, the third exam is not what I was expecting, but makes total sense. It gave a good look at how Serie thinks, how well Frieren knows Serie, where everyone's priorities lie, etc. Of course Fern would choose to stay with Frieren!!! And of course Frieren would have no interest in the types of things that Serie claims to be seeking. At least we have one first class mage in our party!!! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

You forgot to use “penultimate” again. You know I had to, lol. So anyway, the whole thing with the staff and Fern getting upset is a very common human occurrence. Sometimes the facts are the facts, but that doesn’t make you any less sensitive to them. My guess is Frieren told her what she thought, Fern got upset, and then Frieren started trying to figure out why she got set off. …was it really necessary to treat your boyfriend like a punching bag, though? 😅 Regarding the test, Serie is very matter of fact and the reason she is disappointed in Lerner is that he hasn’t grown enough - she does say something interesting - “Frieren is relatively unskilled as a mage for her age.” She wants first class mages to be fully confident in themselves, and their own abilities and have the power to back it up. I will say, I think the two things that convinced Serie were the realization that Fern could see her mana - and the loyalty she actually showed to Frieren when faced with the option of becoming her student. And just for the feels, we decided to show you Himmel’s first encounter with Frieren - could’ve also been the first time he crushed as well. That so-called “useless” spell of hers actually opened up quite a few doors, in the end.

Frieren and Richter are hard to read but they care just as much. Congratulations Fern! Well done! 🎉👏🎊

The more you remind me, the more I seem to forget! :P Yeah, some topics are a bit harder to hear about than others I suppose. Hahahaha poor guy! Serie does seem to have a very specific kind of expectation for mages. I think you're right about Fern's loyalty making an impression! Awwww that first encounter was just so sweet! That spell ended up being far more than useless!!!!
