Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 50 of Kamen Rider Gotchard! OMG!!! I can't believe it's all over! The wrap up was pretty satisfying! I called it with Clotho, but at least she's with her sisters now - and it sounds like there might be hope that they'll be back one day! We also got to see Rinne's dad and Mr. Gorgeous again, woohoo!! I kinda loved the simplicity of the end fight! And so glad the teachers made it out ok too, phew!!! At least that didn't stick! Our new Rider looks like a cutie, can't wait for Gavv!!! All in all this was a fun, silly, sweet and fun series!!! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I was a bit upset. It is way to low impact in many ways. Compare to Ex-aid's finale, Gotchard was like nothing. Well, at least the Ichinose family meeting is well done. I hope that they can do better than that, even with this same plot. Like they could bring out our allies to the fight instead of 'just' Kajiki. I want to see Hijiri again. Or that the finale Rider Kick scene should be way more epic. Anyway, it's time to get JUICY. First 2 episodes of Gavv was out in special platform, and those who watched them tell us that it's great! A little hint, do you remember Enmu from The Infinite Train? Kamen Rider Gavv will have something like him, but in a different place and having a different function.

What happen was when he reforged his driver it was powered up just like daybreak driver in the summer movie. He had reached his full potential. At the end with gavv you could hear his theme playing. Next week is gavvs first episode. No spoilers I just want to say that thing you saw legend give him are the things he uses to henshin. And gavvs enemy will be a classic monster organization. They haven't done one since revice.

Okay, so before I get into the episode fully... CAN I TALK ABOUT GAVV NOW? I'VE BEEN DYING TO TALK ABOUT GAVV. His themes around snacks... It speaks to me. xD Plus those little trinkets are so adorable, like have you seen the little snack holder the belt has? It has little robot arms! And you were right! You guessed he was going to be Pink or Purple, and he's a purple rider. o: I'm going to say that his design is totally based on a Kangaroo. While the head is shaped like a tooth, it's also shaped like a Kangaroo head. Combined with how his legs kind of look (and how Kangaroos are good hoppers and kickers... Pretty important for a Kamen Rider! Not to mention the 'claws' on the feet reminds me of a Kangaroo too!) and how he keeps his Belt in his civilian clothes... Well, it seems pretty Kangaroo-ish to me. xD That little Kuuga guy is why I'm going all out with Gavv. With the Legend Riders, the cute voice of the Belt somtimes recreates the belt sounds of the Legend Rider. It's ADORABLE. Also the 'JUICY' announcement from the belt is a reference to notorious 'Juicy' kid from the Gaim Gummies CM. xD

Anyways, onto the REAL post. So I apologize for my message from the last episode. I heard about how Geryon was 'Glion' from a lot of redditors making a fuss about it lately and it completely took over the wiki... But I don't think that was actually real news. I'm just too used to the name I like in fan translations being utterly and completely wrong. (Like Altria from the Fate series... No one but the creator likes it over 'Artoria'. xD) Aside from the Dark Siblings Deaths... I think I actually like this ending, though it's not my favorite. Like I was kind of hoping to see chemies and humans living together, but I suppose that's one way to solve the problem. xD I don't know how I feel about the humans collectively gaslighting themselves into forgetting the chemies. xD "....Remember when Japan had that nationwide gas-leak? That was a wild summer." I don't know how to feel about Clotho's death. Like I still didn't want it, I wanted there to be a slim chance she'd survive(to officially claim the role as Dread as her own)... But I wasn't surprised with what we got. At least I didn't feel sad since I saw this coming, but still... I wish I could talk more about Kamen Rider Eld's Driver, but I can't. But I WILL talk about Hotaro's NEW Driver. It's the same as the Daybreak Gotchard Driver, but I have a funny feeling that the barcode for Hopper-1 Ultima and Steamliner Ultima shares the same Barcode with the Summer movie form for Gotchard. ...I uh, should really just sit down and watch the whole series since I skipped out on the beginning. xD

Just as a reference, this isn’t the first time Kamen Rider used a base form suit as a final episode “power-up”. They did the exact same thing for Zero-One and Saber, though I’d say it’s more thematic in Zero-One and Gotchard’s cases. Geats technically did this too, but I believe it’s still classified as his base form rather than a new form altogether. Anywho, we’ve finally passed our 5th Reiwa rider as we hit the 2nd half of the decade! I’m interested in seeing the direction they take Gavv!

Hi Hime :) Not much to say about this ending, it speaks for itself. We have the resolution of the conflict, all our riders in final form fighting side by side, all the ingredients of a finale in short. But yes, it's quite rare that the main Rider finishes the villain using his base form, because yes, Kamen Rider Gotchard Ultima, it's just the base form but more powerful lol. For me it's a demonstration of what Hotaro said. Geryon wanted to freeze everything with gold, to reach eternity. Hotaro says that if we freeze, there is no more evolution possible. So defeating your enemy using your base form, but more powerful thanks to all the experiences you have lived is somehow poetic. The authors themselves said that the message was the following, that by learning about alchemy they said to themselves that alchemy is not so much the search for eternity and transmuting gold, as it is about experimenting and continuing again and again without giving up. Now, for Hotaro's father, mama Ichinose saying that the apple didn't fall far from the tree, really makes me think that his father is a former Kamen Rider, which was my first theory. I know that the authors said that they had just forgotten and didn't have time to explore this plot, but bringing it back just at the end like that and the Gotchard movie being about "future Gotchard" and probably how to save his future, Trunks style, I wouldn't be surprised if we have the revelation at this moment like Trunks saying that Vegeta is his father lol. Small detail also, the customer that Hotaro bumps into before leaving the restaurant towards the end, is the actress lending her voice to Hopper1. Also, Rinne saying she feels like she's having déjà vu as she reaches out to Hotaro who's on the ground is a reference to their first interaction in episode 1. Hotaro bumps into Rinne, falls to the ground and she reaches out to help him get up. For my final opinion, I would say that for me it is the opposite of Geats. Geats had a good exploration of the scenario on the length but arrived at the end, we felt as if they were trying to extend the story. Here, on the contrary we have the impression of a rush on the end. Likewise, I managed to see Geats' plot twists coming more than once, where Gotchard proved me wrong more often than not (we'll see for Gavv if I'm good or not lol). We also had a lighter tone in Gotchard compared to Geats and less focused on the characters I think. We have some passages of course, but Geats shines with its characters, where Gotchard was more oriented by its scenario and its universe. A difference in way of doing things in short. Both can be enjoyed and I had a good time, but I prefer Geats I must admit, after that it remains to be seen if the third G will be good too, since we had Geats, Gotchard and now Gavv ^^. Regarding this one, yes it is oriented towards snacks, mainly sweet by the way (so when you say that the MC seems sweet and is a cutiepie, it made me smile), but as you said, it is very possible that there is a dark side too. In any case, if we have not gained weight at the end of Gavv, it will be miraculous lol.

Huh, seems like the comment section is jumping in here - I’m not usually this early but considering there were posts before we got to the end of the runtime from the post time - I wonder if sone people time skipped directly to chat today. 🙃 Well, you did call it on Clotho going out, but what she did was a lot more in line with how I pictured it - she was just gonna go be a nuisance. Also when she’s talking to Hotaro she’s basically saying if it wasn’t for him she’s never have figured out her “Gotcha.” I do think if we’re talking about the Reiwa era in general, Geryon is probably the most well developed of the villains to date, since he was pretty much the antagonist from Day 1 to Day 365 - something I wish they’d do a bit more of, I’m not a fan of “moving the goal post to something new” at the last minute. I guess we’ll never know who Hotaro’s dad is, unless 1) is the mom a recurring character and 2) does Gotchard bear any striking similarities to previous Riders? Chew on that (no pun intended cause of the cameo). I think the big highlight was while Geryon’s ambition was hollow and had no support, Hotaro’s always had his friends’ backing him up - Illini’s clever during the final kick that they’re matched evenly until all the Chemies flow back and give him a boost. Also gotta love Sabi and Renge bringing back that experiment that got them all frozen in place a few weeks ago and using it as a weapon. Seems like the adults wanted to forget everything real quick, but the kids didn’t? Hmm, this trope sounds a bit familiar… You were asking about the new home for the Chemies - I’m not sure if they transmuted a new planet or they’re referring to Hotaro “undoing” Geryon’s El Dorado world Henshin from earlier. Also golden Ichinose is a bit creepy, Rinne would love it :P Overall if we’re rating Reiwa series I think I put this one 3rd, Geats and Zero one ahead, and Revice behind. It was fun, but it also never felt like the stakes were really too high. And we’ve come to the end of another series, so happy new year?

When I noticed the scene at Ichinose Kitchen, there were singers who created the opening song for Kamen Rider Gotchard, Back-on and FLOW, I can say that it was a big surprise that they were invited to the final episode.

Yeah, Clotho was as good as gone after the last ep! It's nice that Hotaro made an impression on her. Well that's true about Geryon! Aside from a brief time away he's been the big villain the whole way through. Oh I'm not sure if it's been implied already who the dad is! Maybe they'll reveal it in a movie? That's true, this was a team effort with Hotaro and co! I thought they said he transmuted a new world for them, but maybe I read it wrong. Rinne would laugh so hard at the creepiness! That's cool about your ranking, I'd mostly agree but I'm not sure where I'd rank Revice in comparison since I really liked that one. Happy Kamen Rider New Year!!!

That's interesting about the message! I love the idea that Hotaro's dad is a former Rider! I hope they bring it back in a movie too! I'd love it if they totally made this a Trunks scenario with future Gotchard lol! I love that about Hopper's VA!! I figured that was a callback to the first ep. I think that's actually a great way to explain it! It was opposite of Geats in so many ways. I think I still prefer Geats but this was definitely a fun entry! Awww I'm glad that made you smile hehe! It does seem like it will be quite a sweet series, in more ways than one ^_^ I'm sure it will have its darker moments too though!! LOL I probably didn't need Gavv's help to put on the extra weight but you're probably right!!! XD

Ohhh that's interesting about the translation! I was honestly going by how it sounded but I also have a history of butchering pronunciation so I really can't be relied on lol! I'm glad you overall liked the ending! It would've been nice to see them actually make progress towards helping the humans and Chemies live together, but maybe that'll come later in movies I guess? LOL yeah humanity really did their own version of the mind wipe :P Yeah I saw it coming with Clotho too, but I still get being on the fence about it. Ooohh that's so cool about the new driver!! Haha sounds good!!!

I think the Snacks are also based on like these Japanese 'Yokai' Toys where like they might look cute or like normal toys, but you can make it reveal a scary face like some horror doll. Of course even when fully revealed, these snacks are still quite cute. Also I doubt we're going to get this gimmick in the first episode(I haven't seen it yet), but be on the look out for Gavv's main weapon, especially his finisher gimmick. IT'S CUTE. ...Honestly I'm hoping for a good mash-up of Kuuga and W's tone for this series. And that's all I'll talk about for now, though I'm real excited for this show to start.

Just from the way some sites keep the old translation and haven't made the big switch yet, it might have been a fan making a big, desperate push for their preferred translation. Looking at the Dark sister's name being named after the three sisters of fate(if I'm remembering right?), and how Geryon's name is based off of Greek Legend as well(Medusa's Grandson, apparently?) makes me doubt the whole 'Glion' thing. Maybe we could see the Chemies and humans living together... But, In terms of Meta and stories being shown to the audience, I feel like it's something that's just going to get swept under the rug, and otherwise completely forgotten about after the Gavv/Gotchard movie... Like I'd imagine that it *will* happen in the future in-universe, but I doubt it's a future that the audience is going to see on screen. xD Though on the other hand, if there's any point in time we'd see that future... we might see it in Gavv/Gotchard. Or maybe a Gotchard After-Series special if we're lucky enough.

Yeah it's hard to say, it can be really hard to tell when you're dealing with fan subs and all! Yeah I could definitely see them kinda glossing over the whole "how did humans/Chemies learn to get along" thing lol, for the sake of the plot in future movies! Oh well :P If we did, I agree that Gavv/Gotchard would be a good place for it! And they might do Gotchard specials, they seem to be fond of the specials these days!!!
