Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 9 of Arcane! OMG!! What a finale you guys!!! We brought things so full circle with so many character pairs....Mel and mom, Viktor and Jayce, Jinx and Vi...!!! To think that Viktor was the one perpetuating all this all along!!! And mom sadly reaped what she sowed...! And don't get me started on Jinx and Vi! I STILL need them to make that ending right, like NOW!!! There's no way!!! Great ep and great season! Enjoy!! ~ MH

Heres the funny part, In the Chinese version of the episode, in the final scene with vi and caitlyn, they edited out caitlyn when they showed vi humming, and in the next shot they edited out vi when caitlyn was leaning on her shoulder. And they edited them out for being together so it was only vi talking to her mind in the last 2 shots but kept their voice lines which looked so stupid its hilarious. You can find it on youtube, its so funny

I think it was because of Chinese law but even that made it more funny

So I mentioned this previously, but this is in fact the series finale. This particular story is at its ending. There has been discussions about doing other tales in the universe with the studio, but nothing concrete. After all, this season budget was around $250 million, I heard. Why is peace always the prerequisite for war? Everybody has their ideals for the greater good, a better world, all of it… but at the end of the day if you just look at what Ambessa and Viktor are doing it was just to serve their own wants and desires. I’m trying to solve everyone else’s imperfections, they neglected to examine their own flaws. You in Episode 3: “Officer Cutie was in on it!” Me: Oh, boy, that’s gonna come back later… 😅 I think what the song does is do a good description of explaining Jinx’s mindset without audibilizing it - of course, it’s also made more obvious when Ekko shows up and keeps having to rewind her. In the end he was just able to convince her to do something good rather than just give up. Caitlyn had an interesting journey, and you could never really tell which side she was leaning towards. I guess in some ways, she learned from her instructor. Whether or not that’s a good thing? Who knows. Mel got pretty good at playing the field, herself. I think she might’ve ended up triple crossing everyone. Jayce and Viktor’s dynamic certainly shifted from where it started - I started to get a little suspicious when I saw Jayce kneeling in the exact same position as we saw in the post apocalypse. So apparently Viktor got what he wanted, realized it wasn’t what he wanted, and then tried to undo it. Funny how that seems to occur more often than not. Vi I don’t really have too much of an opinion about this season, I really think she was basically the same character. She wasn’t any better or worse, she was just following through on plot threads that were already in place. Which brings us to Jinx - unlike her sister, she probably had the most complex arc and development this season. I didn’t quite put the Vander similarities together with Isha and Vi until you said it - but I suppose if you’re willing to blow yourself for someone else, that’s a show of affection in its own right, isn’t it? Maybe after Isha, she finally understood the value of other people’s lives and feelings. But your own emotions, as Viktor says are constantly battling reason. You got your ship: but at what cost? By the way, I think Caitlyn was basically narrating the whole story as she was recording it in her family archives at the end. So you said you didn’t want to be in a world where Vi was gone. Sure, that’s fine - but think about this question: would you rather be in the current universe where there’s so much division, death, and so many ended up losing their lives, or would you prefer Ekko’s AU where Vi was gone, but there wasn’t any war, or discrimination, and everyone else was okay? Personally, I think I would take that one. But that’s the kind of “moral quandary” the show is putting on you. It basically told you that there isn’t a universe in which both sisters survived. And interestingly enough, VI’s actions/or lack thereof were contributing directly to Jinx/Powder’s fate in both universes. Something to think about. “Sometimes taking steps forward means leaving a few things behind.” So, what has more value? And as they say in Tinseltown, “that’s a wrap!”

This was such a fantastic finale to a great series that is a 10 out of 10 for me. So you don’t have to stay sad Jinx is definitely alive & here’s the evidence 1. Right when the explosion that seemingly killed her if you look closely especially if you slow it down you can see a pink streak of light moving away from the explosion very fast which is her using Shimmer to escape the explosion 2. Later in the episode Caitlyn is looking at family records specifically at the schematics of the hex gates & when she sees the air vents she smirks realizing that was how Jinx escaped with her life because without the vents she would have died Caitlyn’s look screams “that crazy bitch (affectionate) actually did it” & 3. the biggest evidence is that the final shot of the episode is an airship sailing away from the city & you might not remember but when Powder was a kid in episode 1 she said one day she was going to ride in 1 of Piltover’s fancy airships & Jinx finally accomplished that dream & I think that’s beautiful because of the full circle nature of that. It goes back to the vision she saw of Silco saying that to break the cycle of violence you have to walk away and she was going to die to make that happen but instead decided to fake her death & leave so that Vi could be free of her commitment to her sister. The one thing I hope for is that when Vi is in a healthier Place mentally Caitlyn will tell her that her sister is alive & when both Vi and Jinx are in healthier/better places they will meet again & have a better relationship then ever before. Also all I can hope for Jinx is that whatever adventure she’s on she will find happiness, freedom & people who will care about her and considering the country people think she is going towards has a character I know people ship Jinx with hey maybe she can find love as well LOL. As always awesome reaction & thoughts please keep up the great work. :-) <3

WOW!! This is the end?! That's crazy!!! It's a huge one to produce though, I get it. HAHAHA there's actually a few things I totally predicted early on, right down to Jinx talking to a doll of Vi (which she did in the AU ep). The song captures it perfectly for sure. Yeah Caitlyn was back and forth, she had a lot going on! Mel really powered up too, in more ways than one. Good call on realizing the signs about Viktor! It's interesting that Viktor ended up being the one to really undo it all. I think Vi represents a good look at someone who was sort of steadfast in their feelings/beliefs throughout most of the season. She didn't have a lot of crazy arcs this time around but she was a good foil for a lot of people who did. Jinx on the other hand, had quite the arc!! I think you're right, Isha changed her. Ahhhh you can't have everything can you?! We got the ship, but man what a hefty price! I think you're right about the moral quandary personally, it's like you have to choose in some weird way. That's the thing, like they couldn't both survive :( Wow what a season/series!!!

I agree, this was phenomenal! OOOHHHH I'm so glad there's evidence that she made it out! The airship too, you're so right!! That's so true, Jinx really completed the circle didn't she. That would be amazing if Caitlyn told her and they could all live happily ever after! Omg same, I want all the best for her too!!! Thank you so much for all the kindness and support!!!

I actually wanted to talk about some of the slight criticisms I have with this season while still thinking it’s a 10/10 & that the show is a masterpiece. While I don’t mind the fast pacing & I think it’s well done and intentional chose to on the writers/creators parts even when a show has fast pacing it still needs time to breath and at times I don’t think this season had that time especially when it came to side characters & moments/characters that the creators meant to focus/expand/explore more & I think all of that could have been solved if either all the episodes had longer run times or if the season had more episodes maybe like 3 more. Also I want to make it clear that I think the small amount of issues I have are because of Netflix in my opinion not being as willing as it should have to put more money towards S2 & I know S2 already had a huge budget but I know the company made back it’s investment on both seasons so It wouldn’t have made a difference to give this season more budget & maybe a bigger budget would have resulted in S2 feeling like it breathed more for me & others although 1 problem that might have been on the creators end is that maybe they were too focused on the 3 acts, 3 episodes each act structure when maybe S2 needed 4 acts. For example there was an entire cut part of episode 9 focused on Ekko/Jinx’s relationship & what they did after he talked her down from her suicide like talking about the other universe, visiting the Firelight’s hide out & making their new outfits together which we know happened because both of their new outfits use spray paint which Jinx used to write her name on part of Ekko’s new outfit as well as showing them rallying the Undercity together & convincing people to work with Piltover in the fight against Viktor and potentially having Ekko & Jinx talk about Isha & maybe an interaction between Jinx & Sevika mostly because I love their relationship. Also 1 other thing I think the creators/writers wanted to expand on more was certain characters like the 3 main new enforcers introduced in the 1st episode Steb the amphibian/fish like person who was the silent type just doing his job/duty & the only one of the 3 still alive at the end of S2, Loris the guy who looked like Vander & was always supporting Vi in the background, the traitor Maddie (at least her made up life since it was confirmed that she was always a Noxion soldier who infiltrated the enforcers under Ambessa’s orders) as well as maybe doing more with Sevika not just because I love her character but because she’s genuinely interesting & well written and whether or not there was more planned with her character I think it’s a missed opportunity that we didn’t get more of her character & her thoughts/perspective. Finally while Jinx’s own grief & thinking she actually couldn’t be a good person after Isha’s death was shown very well through the visuals & the way she acted and what she talked about I think it might have been nice if someone talked to her about Isha & what happened in episode 6 but knowing Vi it makes sense why she wouldn’t really know the best thing to say. I still think it’s impressive how much of a masterpiece this season was even with what I saw as issues & those issues don’t even make it bad it just slightly diminishes an otherwise great show that in my opinion could have been even better. Awesome reaction & thoughts on the finale & I can’t wait to find out what new stories & characters we will see in other parts of the world of Arcane whenever the next show is made after a long wait but I have a lot of patience after how great this show was. We don’t have any news about if another show is being made but the different companies & creators have said they want to & I can’t imagine they wouldn’t after how successful this show was & one thing I wonder about a new show is if it would have the same name, a different name or the same name with a subtitle. Keep up the great work & I hope any & all IRL stuff is going and goes great. :-) <3
