Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction/review of episodes 0 and 1 of vol 6 of RWBY!  Here we go again!!!!  The Adam short was really well done and gave a good highlight reel of his rise to power.  All the more fitting to have it end with him limping away alone though!  Makes total sense considering that in episode 1 we get such a clever, awesome scene describing how he handles the fate of the White Fang members....yikes!!!  Also, our crew is back and having a train adventure, YAY!!!!!  The fight scene was amazing and I was so proud of Ruby and Jaune for just stepping up and taking charge of the situation.  Also, not that there's much we can do about it now but...pretty sure Ozpin said he would share things with the class from now on lol.  Anywho, I'm so glad our crew is okay after that crash but who is this new character???  And who are all the ones in the theme song?!?!  Can't wait to find out!

Im surprised you didnt notice the moon in the new opening. Theres definitely a lot of hints in there for this volume! I absolutely cannot wait for next week, dont forget chapter 3 is a long one and its pretty much all exposition

Okie half way through the vid and I cant contain it anymore I need to talk about the ep and the character short so bad! As you say in the description the short is definitely about his rise to power in the White Fang but it's also a display of the corruption that power plays with his character, and this also (like you said) plays into that scene in ep 1. He becomes less concerned about what would benefit the faunus and more concerned of what could benefit him. Because it's what "he deserves", because he's done so much for the faunus that he thinks he deserves the power, the admiration, the control. He doesnt actually care about the blight the faunus face, he cares about what he believes he's entitled to. Whether it be revenge, adoration or Blake. Ughhh no matter how many times I see that scene of him and (Pre-Beacon) Blake it always grosses me out the same way. The amount of gaslighting and the use of things he knows would emotionally hurt her irritates me to know end. He likes having some sort of power and control over her, and if breaking her down is the way to get that, then that's what he'll do. Ughh. But other than that, I forgot how much I love this chapter, the showcase of how far Ruby has come in terms of leadership is always something that makes me happy. And ahh Oz, you darned spirit, you never actually agreed to telling them everything and you thought you could get off easy for that? (Yang: no more lies, no more half truths. Oz: Understood.) This is where I was glad we had at least one skeptic on the team being Yang, guess we'll see where all that goes. The bees scene is so so bittersweet, they're both trying in different ways, it will just take a while for them to get on the same page, like Yang said. But the fact that Blake is trying and Yang is letting her seems to be good enough for now, so long as she doesnt try too hard. But yeah, overall I'm half way done with your vid and love it like always, gonna watch the rest and I cant wait for you reaction to the next two...boy those two are a doozy to do together, but you'll love it!

Im so excited for next week! You know Oz and Oscar are my faves besides the main girls and seeing how you handle what happens next will be so satisfying through out these coming episodes and volumes. I'm hyped!

Hi Hime :) About the Short : You noticed how Adam goes from "We got what we deserve" at the start to "I got what I deserve" at the end ? An interesting little detail showing its evolution, and another one is his design. The red taking up more and more space on his costume as his thirst for blood increases and the brambles of the rose stretching out like him rooting in error and darkness (he is based on the beast after all). About the song, Lionize, it's in my opinion, one of the best performances of Jeff Williams singing, the highs he reaches, it's the angry tenor at our service ^^. About episode 1 : For me the first minutes on the train, it's Ruby and Weiss flirting in one side (the thanks me later things) and Blake and Yang flirting on the other side lol. Funny detail, the distribution of the beds is the same as Beacon (Ruby above Weiss in one side and Yang above Blake in the other side). The old lady will introduce herself in the next episode but her name is Maria and i'm sure you will love her. It's one of the best character in this volume. And now that you have watched the intro, I finally can say it, Ruby chasing playfully a smiling Weiss melt my heart everytime, how not to ship them after this :D. In any case, you'r lucky to have three songs in one video :D. And the one in the train, is "Miracle", the one I told you about the last time, when I mentioned a reference to Triumph . Triumph (the theme of volume 5) say : "The battle seems unwinnable But all we need's a miracle We're going up, we'll never be denied!" Miracle say : "Every step, it seems, has led us Further from our goal instead Our triumphs haven't mattered" I think it sets the tone well for this volume ^^'.

Fun fact also, and its only semi relevant, but back when volume 4 was airing i had created an oc with my namesake that used a weapon almost exactly like the one Sienna uses in the Adam short

Ahhhhh I've always really adored this episode, so fun to get to watch your reaction! It's really impressive to see the ways crwby improves from one volume to the next, like the way the characters all emote here is just so well done. In particular, the way Ruby bounces around excitedly at the train station never fails to put a smile on my face. This is really the volume that cemented her as my second favourite character. Looking forward to next week's reaction, it's gonna be a big one!

As for Sun and Neptune, there are two canon RWBY novels that follow team CFVY. The first one is called After The Fall, and its set sometime between volumes 3 and 6 when team CFVY transfer to shade academy after the fall of Beacon. The second one is called Before the Dawn and its set sometime after this episode when Sun and Neptune head back to Shade.

The soundtrack for this volume is amazing. The great song from Adam's character short isn't in my top 5 from this volume...that's saying something. When Blake saw Adam on the train I don't think she was imagining it. He didn't have his mask on that we saw him discard in his short. That scene where he drops it happened after he murdered the White Fang members in this chapter.

There is so much excellence in Volume 6 and I am so excited for you to be starting it! I also love that you're already extremely into the soundtrack for the volume, as it is probably my favorite RWBY soundtrack so far. The Volume 6 Intro song is probably my absolute favorite opening song in RWBY. The short version is already amazing, and the extended version is incredible. I just love that the lighting references came back and all of the nature imagery in it is just so strong. Really glad you enjoyed this episode, CRWBY are amazing especially doing V8 while in Lockdown, they are so determined to make the fans happy but always stay true to the story. so while us (up to date) fans wait on the v8 soundtrack and the new season not long maybe autumn/fall we can enjoy your reactions. Also one of my fav rwby songs will be in this season I will defo let you know which one when you hear it :) xxx

Oh yeah, Adam is a manipulative POS...the raid on the SDC factory is probably AFTER Blake's departure since she's not on that mission. I have a head canon for the final scene of the Adam short....I like to believe he tried to retreat with Hazel & Mercury and they BEAT THE SHIT out of him....and he stumbled away, dropping the mask....but this probably didn't happen, since he is wearing the mask in the throne room when he massacres his top lieutenants....so presumably the stagger/drop mask part happens after that massacre.....but I like my headcanon more ;-)

Volume 6 Ch.1 was the very last "Live Sneak Peak" that Rooster Teeth ever did in collaboration with Fathom Events....I got to watch it with other local RWBY fans at my local AMC 24. They didn't do one for Volume 7 (for a very specific reason) and for Volume 8 we were still smack in the middle of the pandemic, so....nope. Anyway, it's a strong first chapter...the first few chapters are told a little out of chronological sequence for dramatic storytelling purposes. I like how you've set this up because you really should watch Ch.2 & 3 together and I'm looking forward to your reaction(s). You are about to meet whom FNDM has jokingly dubbed "Best Abuela" ....in other words yes, the little wise old Latina lady is very important.

Haha yay!!! So true that over time Adam just really only cares about what's good for him, not really for the Faunus. I know right?!?!!? The scene with Blake set off a billion red flags for me, it's so icky the way he treats her and manipulates her. WHOA did not realize till you mentioned it that Oz technically never agreed!!!! :O So true that it just takes time with our Bees. I'm so happy you're enjoying the reaction, hope you liked the rest of it!!! Just filmed the next two eps and I still have whiplash from all they were throwing at me haha, DANG!!!!! Oh man, you couldn't be any more accurate about the "angry tenor" haha!!!!! Such a great song! Awwww the Ruby/Weiss stuff was cute for sure, so was Blake/Yang haha! Oh I am digging the head canon, not gonna lie haha. The disregard for others and self-centered-ness definitely makes me mad when it comes to Adam, but the manipulation of Blake is definitely what sets me off most!!!

I love the characters short I just think it’s great. I think it’s great that the start sets up that Adam was the one who started the mask thing in the White Fang and actually made the 1st 1 himself. I really love how this not only shows the development of the WF but also Adam as a character. In my opinion we don’t see enough of the racism to show us what it’s like in this universe so I’m glad it was shown here. It was interesting to see familiar faces in the past in this short. Also once again Adam’s fighting style is so awesome and cool and something interesting is that until the end of the flight he’s using moves to subdue these violent racists instead of extreme violence/death. You can see that this is the start of the divide between Sienna & Ghira. At this point I feel extremely sad for Adam where in the present I honestly just pity him because this was the start of his fall to darkness. If he had been allowed to listen to Ghira and reflect and change things could have been completely different instead he’s applauded for his violent actions which caused him to think those actions were good and made him embrace violence more and more. The scene with Blake and Adam is just him being creepy, abusive and controlling but there’s something deeper to it. At this point Adam has been given so much power that it’s corrupted him and made him crave more and Blake is just another example of this. I’m glad that we got to see more of Sienna now with her really awesome fighting style and weapon which I believe is based on real life rope darts. And you notice that Adam is indiscriminately killing people now as well as seeing that Ilia at this point already had doubts about what the WF is doing. Finally in this short we have the line “let’s get what we deserve” from Adam followed by him saying the last line in this which is “it’s time to get what I deserve” and this perfectly encapsulates the development of his entire character. Thanks for your insights! I'd honestly never thought of it that way with Adam! It is a terrible shame he couldn't have turned things around in the past like you said. Ugh, that scene was SO uncomfortable right?! So true about the line summing up the whole character, too!!!

2021-07-14 10:26:41 I love this premiere so much. I think it’s great that the episode starts in medias res because that's something I enjoy in fiction even if it’s not always done well. I think the stuff with Weiss and Ruby in this part is so adorable and it was especially great for people who ship them when the ship is called white rose and when she brings Weiss into her semblance her petals turn white and red. The scene with Adam is so perfect at showing how dangerous and strong he still is as well as ruthlessness and starts to show that he’s becoming obsessed with Blake. I absolutely adore the scenes at the train station. It’s so nice to see some slice of life/cute, fun and silly stuff happening again since unfortunately these characters we have come to love don’t get to have that a lot. I like the idea that there are better and worse Huntsman in this world it’s just interesting. Also since it doesn’t matter much Dee and Dudley are based on Tweedle Dee & Dum from Alice in Wonderland. I think the scene between Ilia and Blake is so heartwarming after everything that’s happened. Also her new outfit is so good and cute. Ilia’s voice acting and the hug melts my heart. I think it’s good that we have direct confirmation of Ilia’s sexuality with the Neptune thing. Also once again Sun’s the best and so is the relationship between him and Blake. I admire so much that even though he was obviously in love with her he was never helping her to try to get her to reciprocate but because of how much he cares about her and just generally being a good guy/friend. A really small detail that’s easy to miss is that the magazine Yang’s reading is about robotics/prosthetics. I love the realistic and mature way they are dealing with the stuff between Blake & Yang especially the idea of things not being okay but that they will be. I love the design of these new Grimm the smaller ones are called Manticores and the big one is called a Sphinx. They are based on mythological creatures with the usual RWBY creative changes. It’s awesome to see the dynamic fights again with the group altogether. I think the solo fighting as well as the combo moves are so cool especially how they killed the Sphinx. The best part of this fight is the simultaneous scythe attack from Ruby and Qrow. I love that Ruby is able to put the safety of innocent people before anything else even if they definitely need to talk to Oz about hiding stuff about the lamp from the group it just shows what a good person she is. The plan they come up with utilizing Jaune and Ren’s semblances is so smart and strategic. These 2 semblancess are so powerful together especially in a world where the Grimm exist. Also the way they animate the entire train is cool. During this fight you can also see that Oscar is still getting even better at fighting. Also Weiss’s gravity glyphs (the black ones) are really powerful and awesome at saving the group. Finally I love the old woman introduced at the end of the episode. Great reactions keep up the great work. :-) <3

Yes the combo of Ruby and Weiss was awesome and so sweet! The train station scenes were much needed!! Ohhh good to know the character inspirations for Dee and Dudley! Yes we got confirmation about Ilia! Sun is the best! Ohhh I didn't realize what Yang was reading! I agree about Blake/Yang. Good to know about the Grimm! Yes, Ruby was amazing with her leadership here! Loved the animation!! Oscar is doing great and good call about the glyphs!!! Omg I love her too especially now that I've gotten to know her better!! Oh Sun and his team are in Shade Academy at Vacuo right now, which is on the West side of the continent of Remnant right now along with Team CFVY. Also yes I know that Lionheart did not died trying to protect Mistral Academy when really Salem was the one who killed him while he's being a coward about it. But this was just a message that Qrow wrote on the envelope for Ironwood, I think Qrow didn't want Ironwood to know that Lionheart had betrayed them and Ozpin and was working for Salem, so he lied about it on the letter that Lionheart died bravely trying to protect Mistral Academy instead. Which is kinda a hypocritical thing to do if you ask me, I mean they promised to not lied or keeping things from each other and yet they are trying to keep things from Ironwood who should have been their potential ally once they came to Atlas. But then again they probably assumed that Ironwood could have also been a potential traitor too like with Lionheart and can't risk revealing too many things to him.

Oh okay! Good to know! That makes sense about Qrow not wanting Ironwood to know what really happened / remember Lionheart that way. Yeah, they did make promises about honesty, that's so true!!! It's just.....tricky when you're talking about someone's memory and what that means to their friends. So hard to determine what's right to do!!! Still a lie though, good point.
