Hey everyone!  Here's my next reaction to MHA!  Wow, now we are REALLY getting into the plot of this season!  I thought the storyline with Endeavor trying to reconnect with the family was really well done but also really sad in lots of ways!  So glad they are handling it realistically.  Also, I was sorta right and wrong about Hawks!!!!  He both is and isn't really working with the League lol.  Would love to know even more about him!  And last but not least, Izuku starts getting more detailed visions of the other OFA users, including the first one...!!!!!  Can't wait to see where this is all going!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

PS - looks like last week was actually episode 1 not 0, so disregard the file name being 5x01 lol.  :)

Bunny Hero: Mirko Number 5 Pro Hero in Japan. 20th place on the Popularity poll, 1 vote behind Mirio. Sadly we didnt see much of her, but she is one of my absolut favorite characters in MHA. The future will reveal more. Its unlikely that the previous wielders died of old age, more like Nana in battle. And they all seem rather young, lets say 30s. Late 20s maybe. All for One could be around 200 years old

Ahhh yes I like her too!!!! It's a shame we don't get to see more of her!!! Hmmmmm....!!! Good point about the previous wielders, sad but most likely true. Dang!!!! All for One is pretty old then. Also the fact that all the wielders died young makes my scared for my green-haired cinnamon roll!!!!!! >.< All Might came out of it okay though (I mean, alive anyway). Thanks for the info!

Manny

I got chills for some reason seeing the previous wielders

I loved this episode a lot. It was interesting to see the direct aftermath of the fight we saw at the end of last season. I’m glad they showed the effect of all the injuries not just the most major one on Endeavor and how weak both he and Hawks were at that point. Also the 1st person perspective of Endeavor seeing Dabi is so well done in my opinion. Seeing him create a circle of fire out of nowhere made me realize besides it being fire based we don’t really know how his Quirk works the only thing I can think of is that maybe he can telepathically control and create fire. I don’t know why but there’s something hilarious about how annoyed he looks when Mirko gets in the way. Also I love her and I can't wait to see more of her and it looks like they increased how big her muscles are because that was a complaint of her look from last because it was too different from the manga. You must’ve heard this theory before that Dabi’s a Todoroki theory and there’s some more evidence in this episode with him calling Endeavor by his full name and the mention of an older brother Toya and if you don’t remember because it was quick in the flashbacks the other brother has completely red hair which implies a Quirk that’s only fire based. It’s great how intense the confrontation between Hawks and Dabi is. I love how it’s written in a way where we can believe that Hawks is a traitor but no he’s just been asked to infiltrate and is a really good actor. His backstory is really dark when you look at it. He was a child who might have been poor and was given an offer he probably didn’t think he could refuse and was basically pressured into being a hero by the government. Also based on a throwaway line earlier in the series these people are from the hero commission and the idea that they would go to some pretty grey lengths to create a powerful hero is honestly kind of to put it lightly really messed up. One last thing about Hawks is that I love the clashing aspect of his friendship with Endeavor as well as it showing Endeavor’s slow changes to himself. Even if it didn’t go the best I love the family dinner of the Todoroki’s. Also funny little thing people have been calling this type of thing keeping up with the Todoroki’s and I am sure we’ll get more of this type of thing in the future. I love the aspect of things with this family not being able to be fixed so easily because it doesn’t work like that but the fact that Endeavor is trying without any expectations of being forgiven is so great. It shows he really is serious and genuine about fixing things with his family. Having him remember his wife’s manic face as he thinks about his power and wanting to protect the future is disturbing but shows that he is changing I think. The stuff with the vestiges is so interesting and mind blowing honestly. I love the designs of all the previous holders but I really wonder why 2 of them are completely indistinguishable there is some lore stuff going on behind that which I can’t wait to find out about. Seeing the origins of the power in much more detail is so cool. It was so interesting to see more of All for One twisted mentality and disturbing. Also no matter how chilling his music is I will never get tired of hearing it. The fact that powers at this point were called meta-powers shows very much how the past of the MHA world was very much an X-Men type of thing. The comic parallel was so great and fits with the show so well especially the idea of villains always losing. The fact that the 1st holder is so similar and even sounds like Izuku is really interesting. Especially because his brother says dreams have become reality which Deku has said before. Also this flashback shows exactly how All for One became so powerful as a villain he’s basically a God in that time period. Finally the ending of the episode and what exactly is going on with the vestiges is such an enigma. I loved this reaction a lot and I can’t wait for your next one. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Ah yes the Dabi stuff was so well done!!! And yes, I've heard of that theory!!! The random mention of the older brother, combined with that knowledge of the brother having red hair/fire powers, and the kind of random line from Dabi about "this is the first time we're meeting, right??"......it's all good evidence!!! Mirko is awesome too lol. And yes, a sad/dark backstory about Hawks and definitely subtly implies some shadiness from the folks running the hero society. The way the family situation was handled is great, I couldn't agree more that it's very realistic for it to be an uphill battle in many ways but it's great that Endeavor is so committed to trying to change even without any expectation of forgiveness like you said. All for One is so creepy, so is his music! So true that two of the vestiges being obscured is really interesting!!! Great point that during the First's time, these powers were regarded in a very X-Men-ish way - making the comic reference so perfect! It is interesting that there are so many similarities between the First and Izuku, I'm sure that's no coincidence. I'm so happy you loved my reaction!!!! Thanks for all your support!!! The next reaction is up now, hope you enjoy it!!! ^_^

I almost forgot to tell you about a theory I came up with when watching this episode. Dabi asks someone named Ujiko to teleport him away. Enter my theory that this person is the doctor we know works with all for one from brief scenes where it's stated he helps with the Nomu's. And the other part of my theory is that because it's the same quirk used by all for one and that he can't be using it since he would be riddled with bullets if he did that somehow whether with a quirk or science or both he can manufacture or make complete copies of quirks which is how he helps with the Nomus. I swear if any of this theory turns out to be true I will scream with excitement, happiness and shock.

kamenriderhime

Ohhhhhh that is an interesting theory!!!!!! It makes sense!!! Ahhhh I hope it turns out to be true, that's such a satisfying feeling isn't it lol?!?! :D
