Hey everyone!  Here I am with episode 2 of The Book of Boba Fett!  Oh wow, after last ep, I really couldn't picture rooting for the Raiders so much....but then this ep happened!!!!  I love Boba's sense of a moral code/honor and how he really fought for fair treatment of his newfound friends.  They really helped each other, and in the end, they even welcomed him as one of their own!  Really cool stuff!!!  Meanwhile in the present, we've got some twins to worry about....!!!!  Really loved this episode and can't wait to see not only what happens in the present, but the story that's unfurling of the past!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey, I actually called something right for once! Or DID I? The Mayor is suspicious, but with Hutts in the picture, it’s not inconceivable he’s been used as a scapegoat. This subject is going to come up again I have a feeling. Seems like this series is much more interested in VISUAL storytelling, rather than the use of dialogue. I thought that last week, but they cranked it up a notch. I know that original Tatooine scenes for Star Wars were filmed in Morocco - that’s why the deserts look so bleak. Also filming is a nightmare in that heat. Don’t know if they’re on location still, but if they aren’t it’s pretty hard to tell. It’s interesting that they actually spent a lot of time with the Tuskens, they’ve mostly been antagonists up until now. Kinda interesting to explore them a little more. As soon as they started talking about the Rancor and dropping that ninja into the cell Return of the Jedi style I started laughing hysterically because I knew it wasn’t there anymore even before the door opened. I think I got sone funny looks from other people because of that gag. (Thanks Luke!) Note to extras: when a guy stands IN the doorway of a bar where a fight’s already happening, starting a fight with them probably isn’t the best idea. (See first episode of Mandalorian, if I recall correctly.) 😅 Hmm… so we’re taking over a train… and we’re in the middle of a desert. Clearly what has happened here is two of your other series have now bled into this one. What IS it with you and desert lizards this week? I have a feeling this alliance with the Tusken Raiders isn’t just a past thing, something about it is going to be relevant in current time before this series is over. Yeah, making another call now. 😄 A couple differences though: this train didn’t turn into a demon… and the Nomad didn’t show up in this desert. 😄 With everything going on here, I was just thinking: not, it’s a good thing there’s not any Grimm on THIS planet! 😅

Aw the times I reversed unintentionally 😅 Such nostalgia. Good times Good times. The making of the tool took me back to Avatar the last Airbender. When Sokka chose the material and forged his space sword. It made it (his experience and learning) even more his own.🗡🤺

kamenriderhime

Hahahahaha we've all been there :P I still double check :P Ohhhh yes, I could totally see that! It must be a classic concept, to forge one's own weapon on a journey like that, because I've seen it in other series too! Heck, even the RWBY crew has to make their own weapons, right??? Or am I remembering that wrong??

Manny

No you right, you right. Ruby confirmed in V1E2 that she designed Crescent Rose herself, and went on to state that "all students at Signal forge their own weapons." Whether that's a Signal-exclusive standard is unknown, but it's possible that a lot of other students in a lot of other combat schools make their own as well. Of course not all go to combat schools. Jaunes was passed down to him. Good on ya for remembering!

kamenriderhime

YAY I remembered something for once haha! Ngl, I mostly was thinking of the RWBY Chibi skit where they're all forging their weapons :P But good on you for remembering the line about Ruby making hers and such!!! :D

kamenriderhime

Hahah you were but I think there's definitely more to it like you said!!! :O Oh I didn't realize that's where they were filming!!!! Yeah it looks very desolate even though it's bright and sunny. Extreme heat is my ultimate kryptonite!!! >.< I know, it is interesting to get to know the Tuskens more!!! Hahahahahaha I totally was expecting something to come out even though I know darn well what happened in RotJ!!! But yeah, what a great setup!!! The funny looks must have been people being impressed that you remembered ;) Hahahahaha such a good sidenote about standing in the door, too!!! LOL I came so close to mentioning the lizard but couldn't remember how much overlap there was between my RT folks and those who watch Boba Fett!!! But yeah, lizards are my spirit animal this week apparently :P Oh I can definitely see where you're coming from that they'll bring the whole story with the Raiders back into play! Hahahahaha you know there are so many recurring motifs that one day I'm just gonna forget what I'm watching and be like "isn't the train his body?" and "where did the Nomad go?" :P Oh dang, good thing there aren't Grimm for sure!!!!!!!!! The Clone Wars would have been really short if Grimm existed in this universe, because they would have just destroyed and eaten everything by like the first battle due to all the strife :P

This episode was one of the coolest pieces of SW that had nothing to do with Jedi or Sith! The guys on the train are Pikes, they’re basically the SW equivalent of drug dealers. Apparently that Wookie is from some comics, they’re Black Krrsantan. The dance at the end is very much inspired by Haka, a Māori cultural dance. The way Boba fights with his gaffe stick is also based on this culture, because that’s Temeura Morrison’s (Boba) culture.

kamenriderhime

Yes!!!! Great point!!! Ohhh ok, thanks for explaining. And thanks for all the info on the new Wookie we see, and on the dance! Whoa, I had no idea that so much of it was based on the actor’s culture, how cool is that!!!!! 😱 Thanks for the info!

Cody

No problem. Admittedly, at least the Wookie part, I only know cause of comments on other reactions. I think the Māori stuff was briefly talked about in BTS for Mandalorian season 2.
