Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of Clone Wars 5x17!  Wow, not only are we apparently done with the Mandalor arc....but we are jumping right into another very suspicious one!!!  Loving the murder mystery vibe, but I also get the sense this runs a whole lot deeper into the overarching plot.  Seems like there are some folks who might benefit from making the public think that Jedi are untrustworthy....!!!!  This one pulled me in really fast and I can't wait to see where it's going!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

He was the most talented Knight of his generation, on his way to becoming the most powerful Jedi in history, was THE great hero of the Clone Wars, and under different circumstances, may have worked through his issues and become one of the greatest Jedi ever; so yes, his downfall was a hard one. I think thats what Obi-Wan is recognising by how devastated and out of balance he is at the start of the Kenobi series. I don't know if you have seen some of the unfinished Clone Wars episodes on Youtube Mel; but there is a scene in one of them where Anakin and Obi-Wan talk about Ahsoka's decision to leave. If you've not seen it, you should look it up, though I'm not sure if they'll redo the scene specifically for the Kenobi series.

It truly is, because things could have gone SO differently! Oh, I want to see that unfinished scene for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be curious to see if it pops up on another show like you said.

Yeah its so well done, as in such a relatively short scene it shows us how close Anakin and Obi-Wan were, and how much Anakin was hurt with what happened to Ahsoka. And perhaps the most devastating thing is just how much Obi-Wan trusts him, which we see by his final lines. It also explains to me that though Obi-Wan knew Anakin and Padme were seeing each other, that Obi-Wan would trust Anakin to make a decision on it (of course he and the order would never suspect they were married), and would make the right one for him. So whilst Obi-Wan is there for him, he doesn't see that Anakin isn't as strong as he thinks he is mentally; which is why when they then duel on Mustafar he says 'I have failed you Anakin', because the signs of his troubled state, were there.

Right! It works on many levels. Oh I know, it feels like there isn't a doubt in Obi-Wan's mind when it comes to Anakin here. Tragic. So true that he knew about their relationship, but probably not how far it went, and expected much more of Anakin than he was really capable of with all he had going on. Ah, their whole relationship is so interesting but so sad!!!
