Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 3, eps 39 - 43!!!  Oh dang, here we go again with a brand new (to me) season of RvB!!!!  I gotta say, Caboose was KILLING me in these eps!!!  As if things weren't hectic enough at the end of last season, we all get trapped in weird new locations this time around.  And even though it doesn't take long for most of us to get back together, it's just a matter of seconds (some very explosive seconds) before the present is destroyed....even though we are in the present....LOL!!!!  I'm dying to see the kind of fun we're gonna have with this story!!!  Here's to season 3!!!  Great eps!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

All Fiction

So to help clarify a few things. The implication is that Wyoming was hired by Vic (or someone associated with him) to kill Tucker for finding out he (Vic) was the contact for the Reds and the Blues. As far as them looking different in the future, this was basically an in-story way for them to transition from using the first Halo game to Halo 2. Church on the other hand, is being shown in a game called Marathon, which was a PC game made by Bungie Studios before they made Halo. A lot of concepts and ideas from Marathon carried over to Halo, though aren't canonically linked in any way. And yes that fight between the crazy Reds and Blues was very much poking fun at the way people behaved playing Halo multiplayer.

The Reds and Blues fighting is a nod to Halo Multiplayer, complete with all sorts of silly strategies and trash talk. We got several people referred to by different names in this batch: Wyoming called Tex Allison, Caboose said his full name when he was “Hulk Smashing,” Michael J. Caboose, and Donut’s full name is Franklin Delano Donut. Also, Caboose hates babies…? At this point with him I’m just kinda, yeah, whatever. You might’ve missed this because you were talking over it, but Tex was explaining that each Freelancer has a code name call sign assigned to a state, of which there are now only 49. Something happened to Florida, that they’re not talking about. O’Malley called Vic to let him know he hired Wyoming to take out Tucker because he discovered the secret about the Reds and Blues when he was on the channel at the same time as Sarge and Vic. Also Wyoming’s VA - that British sounding dude is Sarge, Doc and O’Malley as well. ;) D Batteries are a underutilized source of power, clearly. The concept of time in this universe is hard to explain, particularly when Grif is hardened after five hours. :P So being this is Season 3, they wanted to upgrade their look as Halo 2 had launched at this point, and this is how they started transitioning to it. Church is in another Bungie game from an earlier time called Marathon. I could try to make sense of what’s really happening right now but I won’t because A) Spoilers and B) If I told you what’s really going on your brain would be processing slower than Caboose’s is. :D If Doctor Who shows up in the Tardis next to this skit, I’m leaving. Welp… hang on. Gotta take out the trash. ;)

That was a great place to stop at. What a way to end/start it there. I thought the skit was a bit shaky at the beginning but that end there WOW! 👏 👏 👏 Anyone ever seen Ice Age? Those crazy red & blue guys reminded me of those hundreds & hundreds of dodo birds who collected 3 whole melons to get them through the ice age 🤣

Nice, glad I picked up on the multiplayer thing! Yes we finally get some names! And yeah, I had no idea if Caboose really hates babies or was just trying to sound mean lol. Ahhhhh yes, I did miss that part about Florida, thanks for explaining! So something happened and Florida is not there anymore, hmm. Ohhhh thanks for clarifying about the call/bounty! And that's crazy about all the roles that VA does, wow!!! Hahahha who knew D Batteries were so important :P LOL I was dying over Grif and the prison thing!! This was a great way to upgrade to the new Halo!! So funny about the older game. LOL thanks for not spoiling or overloading me!!!!!!!!!!! But yeah, things are starting to get a bit wibbly wobbly in here!!!!!!!!!! :P Go take out that trash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This writing in this Season is probably when I started to love Red vs Blue. Both from a story and production standpoint. Seeing how they used Marathon to represent the past and Halo 2 as the future are both great references to Bungie and clever writing. I also love the Reds and Blues teaming up for the first time so we get a good combination of character interactions. Also it's nice to have another Freelancer and learn that each one was paired with an A.I. and codenamed for a State. Also I loved Tex's sarcastic remark of being named Nevada when she's obviously Texas lol Really looking forward to the remaining batches of this Season and I'm glad you're having so much fun with this series so far.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. Fun facts, I'm not sure if you know this already but Glynda Goodwitch's voice actress is the same for Tex, Dr. Ooblek's voices Caboose, and great dad Taiyang's voices easily the most vulgar character of the series aka Church.
