Hey everyone!  Here I am with episode 5 of The Book of Boba Fett!  WHOAAAAA!!!!!!  Whay did I ever do to deserve basically a FULL EP of the next season of The Mandalorian, dropped right into the middle of this series?!?!?!?!  We even had our awesome mechanic friend back!!!  Wow, so much discussion about Mandalor that I was able to enjoy even more than last time....Din's little mishap with the helmet revealed....some gifts made for our baby...A FLIPPIN NABOO FIGHTER MAKEOVER....and last but not least, our good friend Fennec showing up to tie everything into our ongoing Boba plot!!!  Wow guys, this was even better than I'd hoped it would be!  I would've settled for a nice cameo!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I think what you’re saying about Boba is correct, but let me condense it a little better: he abhors NEEDLESS violence. He has no problem throwing down; but he only does it when he’s got a legitimate reason to do so. Things said while Mando’s in the meat locker: “Is something UNSAVORY going on?” Was that intentional or did your Yang side just catch you unawares? “Is there some meat that needs cutting?” Mando walks out with a head… The Dark Saber thing feels like it’s trying to tell them something. There’s a reason he’s having trouble wielding it: could it be guilt at removing his helmet? Or maybe something else? Either way, I think that’s going to be on the back burner for now. That and the whole “redeeming himself in the mines” thing sounds like a Season 3 storyline. Even in space, people are concerned about losing their luggage. I know what it’s like being worried about that and by the rather angsty tone I heard, sounds like you know the feeling as well. (Speaking of, just bought my tickets to go to RTX for the first time. So yeah, I’ll probably have to deal with that worry again.) So, when you saw the Naboo star fighter I gotta ask: was that you going into full on geek mode? Because you looked pretty happy. :D “Jawas are furry creatures. It didn’t work out.” - You know what, I think it’s probably best if we don’t delve TOO deeply into that topic…. There was one thing they DIDN’T do during the rebuilding scene: I really wanted the mechanic to tell the droids at one point: “No, THIS one goes THERE, THAT one goes THERE.” ;) The whole flying through the canyon thing reminded me a lot of the pod races in Episode I, I wonder if that was intentional. The mechanic is yelling at her droids for not locking hangar security but yeah, you can’t keep important show characters out by locking the door, ever. You know, for a while there, I forgot this was a Boba Fett episode, because we only saw him in the recap. It’s all coming together nicely. By the way, how hard do you think they work on writing all the different lore for the Star Wars cultures, like the Mandalorian history for example? Doing that might be even harder than setting up the plot beats in the show itself. So I guess the verdict is: you thought this episode was… Wizard? :D

OMG and I had written a comment saying how much I missed the mandalorian! It’s like someone heard me! If said person(s) is still listening I also miss RWBY chibi and Genlock before HBOmax 🤞😄👌

kamenriderhime

Right?!?! You must have sent that wish into the universe!!!! LOL omg don't forget Nomad of Nowhere season 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD Hehehe!!

Manny

Aaaaah Nomad of Nowhere S2 YES!!!! 🙏 😌

kamenriderhime

YES, thank you for summing it up so perfectly!! And omg, I think my Yang side is just slowly taking over cause I didn't even catch that pun until you pointed it out! Oooh yes, there's probably much more to the issues with the dark saber. Oh, I know about losing luggage, sadly!!! SO awesome that you got your tickets to RTX!!!! My advice: pack everything into a carry-on :P Lol but seriously, that's awesome! I was totally geeking out over the Naboo fighter!!!! So many childhood memories of my toy one that I loved :D HAHAHAHA yeah I think it's best if we just leave the Jawa conversation at that...!! Hahaha an opportunity missed during the droid scene!! Oh yeah, I could totally see the pod race comparison! Hahahah I mean security doesn't apply to main characters, right? Oh I know, it really felt like we were watching the Mandalorian! Yeah the history has got to be tough to write!!! And not only that, but then stick to it and stay consistent. HAHAHA my final ruling was that this was very WIZARD XD

Also also, the ring like setting we see is a new space station called Glavis. The BD Droid that we see with Peli is likely a nod to the video game, Jedi: Fallen Order, as the main character, Cal Kestis, has a BD Droid named BD-1. And the big Mandalorian Paz Vizla, is voiced by Jon Favereu, one of the writers of this series and Mandalorian. He also voiced Pre Vizla from Star Wars The Clone Wars, the previous leader of Death Watch before being defeated and beheaded by Maul.

Hey!!! It looks like something happened to your original comment but I have it in my email so I can respond to it here! Ohhhhh I forgot he took off the helmet in front of everyone, not just the droid!!! Sorry! Seeing all the surroundings we've seen previously was a fun nod as well. And WIZARD was just, well, Wizard!!! Yeah, I'm not sure if they'll show Grogu again or not on this series, I'll be happy either way like you sad! And the "on the house" line was so great!!! Love their rapport for sure! I heard about the droid afterwards and now I have an even deeper appreciation! And so cool about Jon Favereu, once someone told me that I could totally hear it. Love that he's related to Pre Vizla too. Thanks for all the info!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my favorite episode so far. Seeing the podracing track, hearing the SFX of the Naboo Starfighter, just so much nostalgia. Not to mention Mando’s slaughter at the beginning of the episode and the Jedi: Fallen Order cameo. Just so much great stuff!
