Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of Clone Wars 6x05!  YOU GUYS!!!  After the betrayal and exit of Ahsoka, the tragic death of Fives and corresponding conspiracy, etc.....how did they know how much I needed an Anakin/Padme arc?!?!?!  Where Anakin is the jealous husband no less!!!!  Ugh, it's like a breath of fresh air haha.  So I guess this guy didn't die last time we saw him, ok!!!  Now it's up to Padme to help uncover a great secret....and if you're getting in way over your head with plots like this, Anakin's the one to call to come in for an assist!!!  Oh, even the squabbles are so shippy lol, I love it!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey guys, I messed up and forgot to upload this one to Drive so it just got uploaded this morning! >.< It's still processing but can be downloaded. With any luck, it will process super fast and be streamable within a few hours!!! Thanks for your patience!!!

I never really had a problem with Anakin and Padme’s relationship, until this arc. I felt like Anakin was so frustrating and insufferable this arc, which I guess is the probably the point, but god he was so annoying imo.

I tend to skip this arc. It’s not that it’s a bad arc at all and it definitely fleshes out the lead up to Revenge of the Sith, but I find it uncomfortable viewing. At the centre of the story is Clovis, who I think is a creep in his dealings with Padme, and more generally oily, manipulative, personally over ambitious etc, although to be fair in this arc he was exposing corruption and putting himself at risk doing so. Clovis isn’t all bad but I am not a fan :-) Then on top of that we have Anakin’s jealous side, including full on lost the plot violent, jealous rage, which then leads to a massive fall out with Padme, which I find very uncomfortable viewing for a variety of reasons. I’m also not convinced that Padme handled this ideally, although I don’t think that lets Anakin off the hook! With Anakin, it doesn’t help that his relationship has to be a secret and he has no one he can talk to when there are problems - not even Obi Wan. Very unhealthy. Like you, Melissa, I’m not convinced about this no attachments thing with Jedi, but equally I can see it as an issue that needs dealing with somehow by the Jedi order. Perhaps this is why Jedi are taken from families very young as part of dealing with this issue? And of course originally the Jedi council were reluctant to take on Anakin as they could already see he had these kinds of flaws. And poor Tecla …

I can definitely see how this one would raise some issues for you!!! It's tough to say what the right decision was here in terms of Padme, Anakin, etc. but you make a good point when you mention that they so severely lack any kind of communication / support system outside of their relationship. Also the Jedi Order definitely needs to take a closer look at their, erm, policies lol but I get that one of the things they try to get across throughout the prequels is that they get caught up in their own hubris and stop assessing, questioning, etc. It's a really tough situation all the way around!!! And Tecla!!! :(

Nick

Yes the inability to talk to others about problems within the relationship must have been tough on Padme as well Anakin. I didn’t think about that when writing my comment above and you were right to point it out :-)
