Huh the link isnt working on my phone for some reason

Manny

Just have to wait sometimes. Takes time to process big ones that come out the same day episodes are released. It'll work today soon :)

kamenriderhime

Ah yes Manny, you beat me to it in saying that it's probably just processing! I'm not sure if it can be downloaded on a phone or not?? This was a long ep/bigger file size so it's probably taking a bit longer to process, sorry!! >.<

Man, what an amazing series. So, my idea for a Season 2 would be Obi-Wan training with Qui Gon so that he could learn how to be a Force Ghost. And also to reach a new level, which we kinda see in A New Hope. And maybe possibly seeing young Obi-Wan and Qui Gon defending Satine on Mandalore or the stuff from the Master and Apprentice books.

Saltire - it looks like your comment got deleted! Do you want me to re-paste it here??

Saltire

Yes please Melissa, I posted it and checked later, but it was gone. Strange.

kamenriderhime

Patreon does it from time to time on longer or edited comments! I don't know how to stop the system from doing it unfortunately lol. I'll re-paste it here and reply asap!

Manny

I didn't think we'd get Luke! And when they first met too! My heart couldn't take it. And I'm glad to see how Leia got her gumption for adventure (apart from being Padme and Anakins daughter). Such a great series.😭 👏

kamenriderhime

OMG same!! Awww yes seeing Leia develop that was so much fun and so sweet. It was an awesome series!!!! :'D

"That was superb Star Wars, they nailed it. It had the emotion, the battles, the spectacle and the familial theme right through it all. Obi-Wan was always the GOAT for me, but seeing him in this series has only solidified that further. He was at his absolute lowest in this series, even here when he's buried under the rocks, yet finds the inner strength to get back into the fight and show once again he is the master. And its great that one of Anakin's children, Leia, that helps him recover that strength and that she will become something special one day. I've always actually thought Leia would make the best Skywalker Jedi, but she chose the path of politics and rebellion, which was just as important as what Luke ends up doing. That kid who plays her is just a joy, she WAS Leia, and it was great hearing her theme when Obi-Wan talks to her about her real parents. The duel was spectacular, more realistic than the dance they fought on Mustafar in Revenge Of The Sith, it felt more urgent and primal. You never see Vader on the back foot, but once Obi-Wan rediscovered himself and his purpose, HE was the one toying with Vader. When Obi-Wan apologises to him, was heartbreaking, but at least instead of Anakin/Vader being a hypocrite, this time he doesn't blame Obi-Wan, but says he was the one that became this. As I have always said about Anakin, he was the one who chose wrongly every step of the way, and that the only few good things he did right in his life were his children, Ahsoka and his mercurial abilities on the battlefield; and its interesting to note, how he's always great at tactics, but here, in his quest for vengeance, he is blinded by his own fury at Obi-Wan, that he chooses to seek out him when, the tactical thing to do, would be to take down that ship. A note for you Mel, Inquisitors aren't really Sith. They are a tool used by the Sith, to destroy the Jedi, or turn younglings to the darkside to serve the Empire. They are excellent at hunting down younglings and less experienced Padawans and even Knights; but for the more experienced Knights and Masters, thats when Vader comes in. Also the tricks their lightsabres do, are a way to make up for their lack of ability when it comes to taking on a real challenge, like Obi-Wan at his peak here, where they'd be completely outclassed. They are a means to an end, nothing more. It looks like Qui-Gon finished his training with the Force Priestesses, and is now able to fully show a visible form (for me this slightly takes away from Obi-Wan first showing that in the films, but it makes sense). I loved that Owen and Beru tried their best to protect Luke, it gives me new admiration for them when I get round to watching A New Hope once again sometime! One or two things aside, I really enjoyed this series, and would love to see more from Ewan as Obi-Wan and Hayden (well I think thats guaranteed in his case); and is why I will defend Disney's procurement of the franchise. We won't like everything they give us, but at times, have gave us some truly great Star Wars."

I am very conflicted about that episode. In some parts its very bad, and then again good. I can’t understand, how they left out how Reva got to Tatoonie. I doubt the empire gave her a ship, or left her one. The other "rebel" ship was torn apart, and the planet was a junk yard. And she got there faster, than the entire chase with the Star Destroyer and the "rebel" ship. It was not the entire rebellion, just a few refugees. Remember they said that the path is on several planets. This one was a focus point to get them to safety, there are still more cell's active. And the chase...it suffers from the same problems as Episode 8. But lets not talk about tactics... The fighting between Obi and Vader was cool, their training from episode 2 to 3, must still be in their memory. It was also cool to see some moves, they showed us in the training flashback last episode. So that others, who cant remember the Episode 2 and 3 fights, still see familiar moves. A bit too much camera shake, and the cut aways, but still cool. The story of Reva could have ended, but now its open to new things. Not sure if i want these new things. Sure would have been nice for her to turned earlier, before trying to torture Leia. Building a trophy room full of dead jedi, including children. Its not the problem that Anakin needed more than Obi Wan could give, he WANTED more. More power, to save Padme and the Jedi. More responsibility, so he could proof he is worthy. These are things Palp used to push him. Palp told him about the Power to save Padme. Padme would have been fine. With Anakin on the side of the Jedi, Order 66 would probably not even happen. Obi Wan pushed that Anakin was a strong Jedi, a good leader. But, not patient enough. So Palp said, I make you my representative on the Council. Even, as calculative as he was, I wont say the Palp was the only reason.

Ah thanks for reposting it and explaining how Patreon sometimes plays up with longer comments. I'm new to it so didn't know that. I'll write out longer comments elsewhere first, so there is another backup in case it happens again.

I hear you, there were some questions left unanswered, i.e. how Reva got away. But I agree that the fight was amazing!! Hmm, yeah, Reva will certainly have a lot to make up for if we do see her continue her journey back to the light side. True, Anakin's own desire for more was a lot of his undoing - but it was seriously manipulated by Palpatine. It's arguable that under anyone else's guidance as that "father figure" that Anakin seemed to need so badly, things wouldn't have gone the way they did. Obi-Wan was a great Jedi and friend but I don't think he ever saw Anakin as a "son". The Jedi weren't supposed to see each other that way, after all. It's one of the reasons why I think Qui-Gon could have kept Anakin on the right track!!! Just my little rant haha. But yeah, even with Palpatine pulling the strings, there were still other factors, like you said!

kamenriderhime

No worries, sometimes it does/doesn't happen, it's very random lol! But if you'd prefer not to have to save your comments somewhere else, you can always let me know if it happens again - I save all the emails Patreon sends me about my comments, so I'll still have it!

kamenriderhime

Yes!!! Couldn't agree more that this series just elevated Obi-Wan's GOAT status hehe. So well said that he not only finds the strength to push through, but he finds that strength in the thought of Anakin's kids no less. Yeah, Leia's path was equally important to restoring balance, great point! And wasn't her actress amazing in this?! That scene where he's explaining to her about her parents was everything <3 Well said that there was something more primal in this fight. It was awesome to see Obi-Wan keep Vader on the defensive here! I agree, I doubt it was intended to help Obi-Wan, but I think Vader's admittance here was actually sort of a relief. And closer to the truth. So true, too, that Vader really made an emotional vs. tactical decision here. Oh!!! I didn't realize that, that Inquistors aren't really sith! Interesting, that makes total sense that the lightsaber tricks are more or less theatrics then. Yay Qui-Gon!! I hear you, it's not technically a first anymore versus what we came to know from the first films, but still! Yes, Owen and Beru have been guarding Luke this whole time!!! They full well knew the threat they were facing, and died protecting him. What a couple of all-time bosses. I couldn't agree more about seeing more of Ewan and Hayden, as well as Disney's acquisition of the franchise! It's not all positive all the time, of course, but we really do reap some awesome benefits from it! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! Thanks for your thoughts!

Cody

This finale was everything I could have wanted. Beru packing heat like a boss, the Vader fight, the music! And the meme! I was done! XD These last two episodes made me at least appreciate Reva, the whole show I could not stand her, I was ready for her to die and get what was coming to her, but these last two episodes really turned her around for me. I was really surprised she made it out, for a split second I thought she was going to stab herself when she was holding her saber.

kamenriderhime

Yes!! Wasn't it amazing?! The meme hahah! Yeah, Reva was great at getting us to hate her....right up until her redemption arc! Couldn't agree more. OMG I legit thought for a split second that she'd stab herself too! Glad she didn't, and I'll be curious to see what the future holds for her.

Cody

I’ll admit, I really couldn’t see what people were talking about when they said how great the actor was. They weren’t terrible, but I didn’t see what was so good about the performance. These last two episodes really changed my opinion of Moses’ acting and Reva. Reva became so much more interesting and Moses was awesome, there were a lot of subtleties to her acting in the finale especially.

I’m back for a day and a half before flying out to Austin so I figured I’d try to tie off at least a few of the reactions I missed. Just know I’ll be playing “catch-up” over the next week or so cause… RTX lol. PS: Getting a cold on vacation is a decidedly unpleasant experience. Trying to nip everything in the bud because I got places to be! Anyway, a couple of interesting tidbits to add here: There are two lines referring to the relationship between Obi-Wan and Vader that were pulled nearly direct from the original story. When Vader peels off the rebellion to go after Kenobi he says “I must face him alone,” the same line he utters to Tarkin on the Death Star in Episode IV when discussing Kenobi’s resurfacing. The other is Obi-Wan’s response to Vader claiming that he was the one who killed Anakin, and no one else is to blame. “Then my friend is truly dead.” Luke will speak almost the exact same line to him after being captured in Return of the Jedi. Reva’s sole motivation at the start of this episode is revenge. Luke hasn’t done anything. He just happens to be Anakin’s son. And as the Grand Inquisitor said in the last episode, “revenge does wonders for the will to live.” She eventually comes to her senses, of course, but when you’re motivated by rage it’s hard to focus on anything constructive. Also, I gotta put an interject in here: you don’t seem to think simple farmers are tough: some of my friends are farmers (I couldn’t do that job but I’m glad somebody does, or we wouldn’t have any food), and let me tell you, they’re not the kind of people you’d want to get in a tussle with, they can be pretty tough if they have to. (They’re super nice usually though, and extremely hard workers.) Someone pointed out to me that the lightsaber battle with Vader and Kenobi was choreographed with actual fencing stances, to make it look more authentic. Also, you wanted to see Vader when he wasn’t toying. Here you go. Back to the line: “you didn’t kill Anakin.. I did.” This also sets up why he tells Luke Vader murdered his father years later. I could be wrong, but it looks like the final shot of Kenobi and Qui-Gon they’re heading towards the area he’s going to build his residence on later (he doesn’t stay in a cave in Ep IV). So, overall thoughts: I think the series is fine where it is. First off, the story seems to be very well tied in with the first two trilogies as a “gap bridger.” You can tell that the people who worked on this show were actual true fans of the series and wanted to do something that would recapture that sense in their story, and I think they completely succeeded. It’s one of the final puzzle pieces that needs to fit and it feels like the pacing that made the original trilogy so much fun. Do I think we’ll get a Season 2? I doubt it, most everything that’s been ticked off here doesn’t need to be readdressed until Ep IV. Obi-Wan basically goes into hiding here until that. It doesn’t mean we can’t get something else in this time frame, but I think it will probably be more of a cameo for another show than anything else. Because, really, all the boxes are checked here, not much left to tell. But it was told well. PS: If Reva is still alive that means she might reappear somewhere else. Seems like too interesting and varied a character to just shelve, don’t you think…? 👀

kamenriderhime

I agree that the last few eps really highlighted Moses' performance!!!!!! I really hope we get to see Reva again!

kamenriderhime

Oh yay! How was your trip? Oh no, feel better before RTX!!! Vacation colds are the worst!! Ohhhh those are awesome references, I caught the second one when someone mentioned online afterwards. That's the thing, rage can be pretty consuming!!! Hard to make good decisions out of anger. Do you think Reva knew that Luke was Anakin's son? Cause that would definitely make more sense. Oh I have all the respect in the world for farmers!!!! They are tough folks for sure!!! I'm just downright impressed that they could hold their own in battle that way. But yeah, don't mess with farmers!!! Oh yeah, Vader was serious here. Really cool that these were actual fencing moves too! RIGHT!!! This really helps make sense of Obi-Wan's line to Luke later. Ohhh so that's where they're headed at the end, cool. Good call that this is a great bridge all on its own! They really could never do anything with it again and it would be great. Who knows what they're planning though! Ooohhhh I really hope Reva pops up somewhere else!!!!! She's a great character and I'd be sad if they didn't use her again!

Cody

Yeah I’m curious where they’ll have her pop up again. On another note I love how they waited till the end to play the classic music. I was so happy when they finally played the Imperial March, and cried when they played Leia’s theme and the Force theme. It was so good! And I felt like there were tiny hints of the Mustafar fight song during the Vader fight, such a great way to call back to that fight and those feelings without straight up using the same song.

kamenriderhime

Me too! OMG yes, that was a nice touch with the music!! It hits so hard right?! Good ear catching those fight theme notes too. Star Wars music is the best!!

Cody

That’s just one reason why that Vader fight is my new favorite in all Star Wars. The emotions, Ewan and Hayden being back, THE CHOREOGRAPHY! There were so many layers to why it had me crying. And the cherry on top is that Ewan said in an interview that during RotS “there was this behind the back move that Hayden did, and it was so great, but I could never do it.” And we see him pull off behind the back blocks and stuff like 3 times! I was so freaking happy, bs you couldn’t pull it off look at you go! So many happy tears!

kamenriderhime

There's so much right?! I teared up too, just watching it unfold and feeling the surreal-ness of it all! WHOA, that does make it even cooler that Ewan was able to pull off the move too! All the happy tears!!!

Cody

At the very least it’s my favorite fight in live action Star Wars. Other strong contenders are Maul vs Ahsoka cause the motion capture just made that fight unbelievably good, and two fights in Rebels you haven’t seen yet. All of them are the perfect combination of emotion, music and choreography, they’re just awesome.

kamenriderhime

Oh that was an AMAZING fight!!! And whoa, I'm excited for the fights you speak of in Rebels!!!! XD
