Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 24 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  Ohhhh, that's who that guy from last ep was lol....!!!  It was fascinating to get to see one of Shizu's adventures, and how she met this kinda-sorta-not-bad demon person???  Even more interesting that this individual will get a name from Rimuru at some point...!!!  And yeah, they're building up the mask in a big way, so I just know that's gonna come back around as well!  What a great ep and a great season!  Can't wait for more!

Hi Hime :) About the spirit that possessed Chloe, she comes from the future and goes directly to kiss Rimuru, after Chloe said she loves Rimuru, so there you go ^^ If you add the notion of time with the mask, which had surely allowed Shizu to keep her youthful appearance, and that this mask was a gift from her master (who is also a woman), maybe the spirit that seeks to reincarnate, is an accumulation of Shizu, her master and Chloe from the future? I said it before, I haven't seen season 2 yet, but the fact that "Diablo" is a progenitor, seems to indicate that he is the "father" of several demons, so when he says that his family will get in his way it may be demons he gave birth to. After all, he does say of Orthos that he is from Red, so we can assume that there are demons that come from "Diablo".

The family member that Kuro, Nior, Black, or Diablo...(He has a few names apparently) was referring to was the demon that Rimiru summon to inhabit Ramiris' new golem he made for her at the end of the last episode

I like what you theorized on the mask, spiritual body, and Chloe, etc. But I think they said back in Ep. 4 or so, that Shizu's appearance comes from Ifrit being in her. Also, to be precise, Black says his family got ahead of him, and called Orthos a dependent of Red, which is not exactly the same as being a "father".

Hello! Of course I have more to say. There is something about this world. It doesn't come up for a loooooong time, though. Demon Lords don't have to be demons, but demons can be Demon Lords. When Orthos talked about the supreme being, he meant Red. Named demons become Archdemons. That is above Lesser and Greater Demons. The higher the rank, the more humanoid. I don't think Lesser Demons are even intelligent. It is extremely rare for a demon to get that strong, but there are ways to rank up. There is another ranking system, which is determined by age. The older they are, the stronger, regardless of the other ranking system. There is generally a limit to how many magicules a demon can have, so practice is what makes them stronger.

Magic is their main power and they are soul experts. Demons don't do anything for anyone without payment. It doesn't have to be souls, but the payment has to be commensurate with the request. Most people cannot summon older demons because the people aren't strong enough, and if they happen to do so, they are in danger. Black must have been bored to accept so easily.

I would call Demons Chaotic Neutral to Evil, but they do follow some rules. Black said his name was an imitation name given him by an old acquaintance. It's not a real name. Those that acquire names by themselves don't have a namer. They are the top of the naming hierarchy themselves. Which makes me wonder why Rimuru seems to be at the top although Veldora named him. Maybe this is another unique thing about Rimuru? ......Progenitors are the original Demons, which automatically makes them the oldest. Oh, and demons are not spirits, but they are a kind of spiritual being. As long as their soul isn't destroyed it can come back. Their physical body can be destroyed and they will just go back to the Demon Realm. Black likes to hold back because it's more fun to not make a fight too easy. He is considered an oddball by the other Progenitors.

Certainly, but Red being a progenitor too, I assume that his title is related to the fact that he is in some way the creator of demons (including Orthos). Whether he created, summoned, or turned a monster or a human into a demon, I call him a "father" more in the sense of "origin of", much like Veldora and Charydbis, Veldora unintentionally creating it , which makes him his "father", but he is not a father in the sense of raising a being.

I don't think "origin" is the right word either, most of the time. I would say it's more like joining a club, but you could look at it your way, too.

Gotcha! That's a good way to put it. Ohhhh interesting about the naming, thanks for clarifying that. That's a good point, Rimuru was named, so how is he at the top? Thanks for all the info on demons! I can definitely see that Black is different compared to the other demons. Can't wait to learn more!

Hi Spadeas! :) Oh yeah, there's a lot of clues that that's future Chloe right! Hmmm, that's an interesting theory about who the spirit might be, I hadn't thought of that! It's interesting that there are so many interpretations of "progenitor"! I see where you're going with it for sure. I hadn't put that together with his line about "family" either. The word Progenitor is also translated as Primordial in other places, so it doesn't always imply a progeny. I should probably have mentioned that before.

Tbh, the story of Chloe and the spirit cannot be fully inferred from just the information in the episode alone.

Interesting that they decided to do a pre-Rimuru episode here and focus more on Shizu and her dealings with this individual. Of course, locking a bunch of heroes in a room doesn’t seem like the best way to get them to cooperate, and telling them some might be possessed by demons? If it wasn’t for the incredibly suspicious nature of how everyone was gathered, this could’ve turned into a real good live game of Clue. Oh well… can’t have everything I guess. 👀 Calling him Black Noir at one point seemed like a cheeky subtle reference to the same character in The Boys, didn’t it? Anyway, that’s one week of catch ups done! Got a few more to knock out before I can call myself current again. :)

Yeah it is interesting! LOL yeah kinda wonder how they expected that not to get out of control. It would have been a really good game of Clue, what a wasted opportunity lol. Thank you for the link! For some reason why I click on the tag, the newest I see on top (just tested now as well) is Ep 22, the only way I was able to find Ep 24 was finding the link listing from your Patreon Home page. Edit: I looked further into the home page posts and I found the link for "Ep 23 Unlocked"! Also I have a question, is there Season 1-2 episodes for My Hero Academia? I've went as old as I can for posts but couldn't go below certain eps from Season 3.
