Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  WHOA you guys, now we're getting into some of the nastier side of politics, sigh!!!  Our new magical friend has officially started spying on JTF I guess, but what's even worse is Falmuth's plans for Rimuru and all he's built!!!  Ugh, we've been up against some stuff, but we've never been up against high level coordinated political yuckiness you guys.  I'm scared for what's coming next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) The hero who presents Mjurran to Youm, has a design reminiscent of one of the heroes of Dragon Quest, the game often referred to in the anime. Shion and Shuna angry, it's something anyway ^^. I knew the mention of "Parasyte" would make you react lol If I remember correctly, you will soon see Rimuru's departure and his goodbye to the children. And as you seem to suspect, but yes, the sky is darkening for JTF and from the next episodes, it's not going to work out, quite the contrary, so prepare yourself as best you can, but I think you will never be enough...

Hi again! Some random thoughts first: Losing Kaijin from Dwargon is not that awful because, remember, there is a technology exchange between the two countries; a lot of people comment that Parasyte is not good for such young children, but I think that they need to be prepared in this new world to encounter anything; why is it everyone approaches Capital City Rimuru from the top of what looks like a cliff? How do they get down there; when Gobta tried to fool Hakurou, the guys couldn't stop looking at the spot on the ground where the circle was, thus tipping Hakurou off; a sneeze is a good way to change the subject; a Wizard is the highest level magic user who can use 3 systems of magic. (Edit:. Actually I'm not sure about that, I'll have to do some research.)

A lot of things that happen in these last few episodes are setups for quite a ways down the road, actually the whole series is full of them....monsters and Majin are different from humans because they have a lot of magicules. As they evolve they have more magicules, and become more and more spiritual beings than physical beings. They live longer, too. As a result, they at some point become unable to have children. Until that point, when they have children they give up magicules and become weaker. They can control whether they have a child......The Otherworlders are Summons. They were not too young when summoned and they had the Skills that enhanced the countries' strength, so they never had any chance to go to the school, and are being controlled.

Recently I watched a video that explained that when a nation goes to war, there is the true reason, and there is the pretext. The pretext is to justify themselves to the world. Every country does it. The Church has as one of its tenets that monsters are bad. It is actually a way to attract adherents to the religion by giving them a sense of safety. Reyheim had heard the church was going to declare the JTF enemies, but they hadn't done it yet. Reyheim was ambitious so he thought he would be the one to subjugate the monster nation. The Church has multiple reasons for doing this. It would be hard for most countries to oppose the plan because the Church was for it. As for Falmuth, the king didn't just want to eliminate the new trade route, but also hoped they could take the country and profit from it. By the way, Rimuru's speech in Dwargon was one factor in the king thinking Rimuru was weak, just as Gazel said.

While I don’t think Mjurran herself is unscrupulous, we know the person holding her strings is, so she says Clayman wanted her to just scope out Tempest… but I don’t think we will truly know what her orders are until she comes in contact with Rimuru himself. That being said, she does seem fairly impressed with how well everything is working and for the most part she’s being treated pretty well. I do have to say, the quips about her being weaker just cause she’s a female stroke a similar chord with how everyone keeps underestimating Rimuru when they hear he’s a slime. Come on guys, you’re kinda making MY gender look bad here… 😅 Haven’t gotten into Parasyte yet though I’ve seen it in your list, so I’m sure you appreciated the callback. Did you enjoy the series, though? It seems that the hot springs aren’t soundproof and the girls can all hear everything the guys are saying about them… why do I get the feeling that Shion, Shina and Mjurran might make some trouble for the rest of them. There are two characters in this training montage. Gobta… and Gobta’s eyebrow… the poor lad is so tired of getting beat up he’ll try anything. Hakuro seems to always be five steps ahead of them, though. Rimuru says “you know, I don’t think we really have to worry about that right now…” which is translation for: it’s happening very soon. The scene with the kids all diving into the manga? That’s all of us if Volume 9 gets released like that and you know it… 😂 “Hurry up and read faster!” The kingdom of Falmuth mentioned that they were facing a financial crisis as not as much trade was coming to them because of the rising of Tempest: this seems to be why they’re willing to take more drastic measures. Oh, great, another evil anime church sect. We’ve done this before, looks like more religious skullduggery is in our future - and Rimuru’s. The Otherworlders mentioned things from our world like TV and internet, so it’s possible they’re from the same time as Rimuru. Also, they are secretly plotting against their “employers” so they seem more like forced mercenaries. We know they can’t be summons, since they wouldn’t be able to go against their masters then. Also, that looked like Milim in Clayman’s office… and yet… something seems off. Is it really her or is something else going on here? AH-CHOOO! Welp, I’d better wrap up. I think someone may be talking about me. (I don’t remember when this sneeze joke started, but sure, I’ll lean into it.) 😎

So I had an idea I don't know if it's a good one what about half through slime you take a break on it like when it was airing then watch something else that's twelve episodes like for the w anime then come back to when it's finished it's just thought really nothing concrete

Those guys are definitely Summons, I don't know how they think they can kill their bosses, but one of them at least is thinking he can get stronger and beat the curse. Also the curse is merely a trigger word that can stop them. Finally, I think their arrogance makes them think they have more of a chance than they actually do. Edit: I just was reminded that one of them at least thought that they would be able to kill their controllers because of the chaos.

I'd love to start on another anime but I think I'll probably go ahead and just finish out season 2 of Slime first! I feel like taking a break and coming back, I might lose some of the details of the story a bit. But I'll def be starting up another one after we wrap up Slime!

Hey!! That's a good point actually, it's not like they *lost* everything about having Kaijin's help! Lol I hadn't even thought of that that Parasyte probably isn't best for young minds but....I mean it is pretty thought provoking at the end of the day! Hahah maybe there's a big rope or ladder at the entry cliff? So many good fun facts, thanks for the info!

Such a good point! Sad but true. Wow, there are much less honorable reasons for wanting to do this, which makes sense unfortunately. Thanks for explaining. Also such a good note that the speech did imply "weakness"!!! They never say/do anything on this show for nothing, it always comes back!

Exactly, she seems okay, but her mission...not so sure. Hahaha I'm sure the constant female comments annoy lots of men too, no worries! I loved Parasyte, so imagine my surprise when it pops up here lol! Oh yeah, I wouldn't wanna get on the ladies' bad sides...the dudes should really watch what they say in the hot springs lol. HAHAHAHA Gobta's eyebrow!!!! Yeah, they're not putting one over on anyone unfortunately. Yeah any time Rimuru passes something off as not a problem is an instant red flag that it is. Hahaha it's totally us getting early access to Vol. 9 right!!! Yes, the trade seems to be an issue. Lol yup, we're checking off anime tropes here and evil churches is one of them! Oh yeah, I noticed the modern-day references, they must at least be from somewhere in the 2000s right?? Yeah that did and didn't seem like Milim....!!! Ah, interesting about the summons issue too. Hahahaha the sneeze joke is an oldie but a goodie!!!

I was just reminded that monsters have to be in love to have children. I am now reading the official Volume 14 LN translation which was just published. So much better than the edited machine translation! I am so happy!
