Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 17 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime!  We get more strategizing and placement of all our crew in this one, including who's going with who to Walpurgis!  Veldora being our ace in the hole makes me feel better for sure.  Also loved the cute moment between Treyni and Ramiris!  And we also got to see the one Finger guy more up close....and he does NOT seem pleasant!!!!!  Ick!  We're quickly heading into some dangerous territory!

You’re having pronunciation trouble again, I see. Remember Clayman is Mun (as in MONday or MONey) :) Raphael is just out here flexing on everyone, Rimuru included. Good thing she’s not TOO sensitive or she might take issue with Rimuru stealing her Thunder. A lot of this episode seems to be setup, and Rimuru’s just the playwright. Someone forgot to tell his allies though, they immediately thought Clayman had actually said those things. But that’s exactly what our slime is hoping happens. Also, I don’t think I want to see what happens if someone ever badmouths Rimuru around Shion, Diablo or Veldora… Ramiris is so critical of everyone else looking out for themselves , talk about a pot calling the kettle black. Although the devotion the two Dryads are showing to her is quite endearing, but I gotta ask who’s actually the “pet” here? And what really happened to estrange them? Shion and Diablo are becoming quite a pairing, the only thing they really have in common is devotion to Rimuru, but on some crazy scale it’s working for them. Maybe after this is done they’ll host a talk show live from the JTF where they argue about stuff together. XD Veldora’s been entrusted with the most important job of all, protecting Tempest while Rimuru is away, but he certainly does seem a bit of a scatter brain. I half expect if Rimuru tries to summon him he’ll say, call back after I’m done with this manga volume, I’m busy right now. 🤣 The two priests are in Milim’s kingdom, where Clayman’s army is camped, led by Yamza. I get the feeling Milim’s actions, while under Clayman’s influence, are probably what’s being discussed. Also what is it with anime and severed limbs? Okay, so things seem to be in place but a number sticks out to me. Rimuru said his army numbered 20,000. That number has been mentioned before in this series. We assume that they’re going to be okay, but look at the flip side. If they fail, Clayman will gain as many souls as Rimuru did. That’s not a good thing, Bob. Yamza’s force is 30,000 so they’re at a numbers disadvantage, even with superior firepower. Don’t think I don’t see them dropping these subtle little digs at us. The mangaka is messing with everyone again. Who’s playing who here? 👀

Fun little tidbit is that shion's personal guard Yomi Ogaeri translates roughly to Team Reborn and consists of all the people who died and were revived. Funny thing is these were mainly non combatants before and upon being revived gained some pretty great survival abilities

Ahhh I was doing well and then I got confused again :P Hahah yeah Raphael was a boss here! Yeah Rimuru is orchestrating big time here. OMG definitely don't diss Rimuru around any of those individuals!! Hahha yeah that coming from Ramiris was really something! Yeah I still have some questions about the Dryad situation too! Lol yeah Shion and Diablo are making in work in the most bizarre way! Yeah Veldora kinda comes off like a 15 yr old that you leave in charge of the house for the weekend hahaha. That makes sense about the scene with Milim's followers. And yeah this show needs to chill with chopping these off people hahaha. OOF, that is quite an ironic number isn't it, oh no!!!! That's a terrible thought!!!! They need to stop playing games with me lol!!

Ahhh, I'm late turning in my homework again! Anyway, I'll try to make it short. Rimuru's subordinates do go crazy when Rimuru is insulted even when they can ignore insults to themselves. Remember Soei's visit to the Lizardmen when he almost killed the guy who doubted Rimuru..... So how did Ramiris get separated from the dryads? Well, Ramiris "fell from grace" during a certain event thousands of years ago, which caused her to die and be reborn many times. She didn't lose her memory but Ramiris' did for some reason lose the door to the dryads' location in her Labyrinth.... Only human souls allow evolution to demon lord. Majin and monsters don't count. So Clayman's army is not going to evolve Clayman. .... Raphael knows Rimuru keeps her a secret because (1) You don't let anyone know how many or what kind of Skills you have, you will lose your advantage; (2) This Skill is so much a Cheat even in that world..... Magic isn't Skills and Skills aren't Magic. Skills are more a part of you; Magic is something you do. If you use a Skill, you aren't doing Magic.... I believe Yuuki did honestly care about the children's fates. He's not all bad.... I think it's funny that Clayman says he's not falling for Rimuru's bluff, while falling for Rimuru's bluff.... Yomi means Path to the Underworld, while gaeri (kaeri) means return home. Again, creative translations!

Lol no worries! Yes definitely never insult Rimuru around his crew! Ohhh thanks for clarifying about Ramiris! I'm so curious to know what exactly happened. Ohhhh got it, it has to be human souls. Thanks for clarifying about skills and magic, that makes sense! Hmm, interesting that Yuuki would care. Hahaha yeah pretty ironic that Clayman would say that! Ohhh so cool about the translations too!
