Hey everyone!  I'm back today with Kamen Rider Geats episode 1!!!  WOW.......what did I just watch lol!?!?!  That was INTENSE!!!  I feel like they threw me on a rollercoaster ride in the first ep.  It was awesome!  So first off I LOVE the form!!  The kitsune vibes are excellent!  The concept, from what I can tell with what hints they dropped here and there, is pretty freaky and interesting as well.  The action was nonstop and looked great!!!  And now, we're entering some kind of Squid Game type recruitment process???  I think this is gonna be a wild ride!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) Wearing a Kyubi tshirt when the rider is based on a fox is a good coincidence lol. Keiwa (the one doing his job interview) seems to be the real protagonist for me so far as for you. Geats is really mysterious while Keiwa, we have directly seen his history and his personality. The Riders' costume for this season all have the same base except the helmet, then it's the equipment they put on that gives their appearance and as you could see with Geats, one equipment on top and one on the bottom, which can be interchanged without problem. This promises beautiful combinations. Kinda reminds me of W in a way, and another recent Rider that I haven't seen, but is based on science (Build I guess). The battle royale side, me who started the Kamen Rider with Ryuki, who was also a battle royale, brings back memories. Especially when in Ryuki too the Riders fought for their desires and to have a wish come true. But the premise seems interesting, especially since it doesn't seem to be fights between Riders this time, well we'll see. We will also see for Geats, because there, after having created "his world" but the fact that the battle royale continues, makes me wonder if he is on the good side or not...

The genre that you were refering to is battle royale, originated from the Japanese novel and its movie adaptation "Battle Royale". It was regarded as one of best movies in the history of cinema. Death game media like Hunger Games, Squid Game, Liar Game, Alice in Borderland, Fortnite are all somewhat based off of this novel and movie

I'm really hoping that Shirowe isn't gone for good. He was going to be my favorite Rider for this series. :c I'm hoping that we don't go through a game anytime there's monsters. xD Like I'm hoping there's a few missions per game, though I'm hoping we get to see the world change a few times. o: You know ONE of those worlds is going to be like a dark timeline, and personally I'm going to guess it's going to happen around the final form debut. xD ...From the way they were handing out Drivers at seemingly random people, I can't help but wonder... Maybe they hand out Drivers to people within the game area who survive to the end of the Game? Like to the surviving Riders, and even the civilians who end up surviving? o: I'm really looking forward to this series!

Fun fact! The Polar Bear headed rider is played by Yamato Kinjo who was KyoryuBlue the blue ranger in 2013’s Super Sentai series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.

It’s a good thing I figured out that file site when I did so I guess since you’re starting a new series I can jump in with you this time. I’ve only seen Zi-O, Zero One and Den-O to date, but, eh, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of overlap so I’m not too worried. So first question: what was in that bowl of soba? 😂 I think this clearly is the cause of all this. However it was mentioned this “competition” has been going on for half a year, and in that staging area there were three active icons shown and a lot of “LOSE” - so I don’t know if those failures are getting brought back. Neon’s bodyguards straight up look like agents out of the Matrix - so I wonder if the creator of this series is going more for a concept like that? “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?” - for some reason when Geats said that I was thinking immediately of Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. If there’s a common theme I’ve noticed in the Kamen Rider series I’ve seen so far, it’s that WEIRD STUFF THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE always happens in the first episode, so I suppose being a little confused right now is par for the course. I imagine we will have plenty of time to unpack it all, but you can only do so much in the first 25 minutes, so better to get the ball rolling first, and ask questions later! 😅

Hi Spadeas! :) Oh yeah that worked out well right haha! Yeah, Keiwa's definitely giving off protagonist vibes. I agree that the combinations are going to be really something! I can totally see the W influence too! Oh I didn't realize this was such a throwback to Ryuki! I'm definitely trying to figure out if the Riders here are "good guys" or not....guess we'll see!

I know!!!!!! I was like dang, we knew this person for all of about 45 seconds?! Oof, yeah, a game like EVERY EPISODE would be.....tough! A dark timeline would be pretty interesting to see actually! But yeah, they might want to reserve the resets for every once in a while! Hmmm, good call, any survivors get the chance...could be interesting!!! Me too!

Yay, glad you're jumping into this one with me! Yeah each series stands on its own almost completely. Hahahaha what indeed was in the soba :P Oh good call on the timing and the "lose" ones - didn't catch that! Hahaha yeah maybe the Matrix vibes weren't by accident with the bodyguards. HAHAHAHA I almost actually said he pulled that line from Dumb and Dumber but got distracted!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah you're right, being confused now is a good thing when it comes to Kamen Rider. Yeah, we have 49 more eps to figure it out so we're good :D

ToT I was so on board with him the moment I knew he was played by Kyoryu-Blue from Kyuryuger...HE BETTER COME BACK, DANG IT. ; O; I feel like there could be a few fun chaotic changes to the status quo if you have a couple of games take place during the run of the entire season... Though why do I have a feeling Ace is going to be the winner most of the time? xD You just *know* there's going to be that one guy who's going to wish for a world without Ace... > .>; I mean with this many riders in the show, there HAS to be that one guy in there *somewhere*.

So to give some context, even tho Ace is the main lead rider, Keiwa who is the secondary rider, is the audience self insert as in he'll receive the exposition for us and we'll probably get more focus on him than Ace, so basically Keiwa will feel more like the main character than Ace himself. Honestly Geats reminds me of another kr season, Kabuto, both have a main lead rider whose very skilled but because of it is very arrogant and cocky with the secondary rider being the one who receives the focus and development while having a personality and goals that's more befitting of a main lead rider

Heya! Finally have a chance to post a comment here. Welcome to my world! Said, Ace. First, Kamen Rider Geats' main form is MagnumBoost, which is shown on every poster he presented. And for his name, Ace Ukiyo roughly means "Floating World of Prosperity". The word "Ace" is defined as a person who excels at a particular activity, derived by his status as the Deza Shin (Desire Grand Prix champion) and his confident personality. His name, when read in Japanese order, is a pun on the term "ace" and the Ukiyo-e (浮世絵 lit. "Floating World Picture") art style. One theorist said that the traditional meaning of Ukiyo art style is "This world is full of unhappiness that does not last forever, so be happy to the fullest." This might meaning to how he created a new world that he's happy with. Geats is derived from the voiced sound of the Japanese word for fox (狐, Gitsune or Kitsune, ギツネ in katakana). The gimmick item for this series are Raise Buckle. The buckles are meant to be inserted at each sides of the Desire Driver to transform. When transform with just an ID core, it is the Entry form, each buckle can be inserted single or dual style. the right slot (Cyclone's side for W) will generate the upper armor, and vice versa for the left slot (Joker's side for W). However, each side can be "Revolve on" to switch places. That's how Geats change from BoostMagnum to MagnumBoost, which is supposed to be his main form. Anyway, at the start of the series, we see that he is by the shore. It seems that he is a traveler during that time. And the Desire Grand Prix we see in this episode is the final round with 3 players left (1 eliminated), and it is last for half a year. Buffa is still there even though he lost. So, it seems that even though you lose, it not necessary for you to die. And, one point that could be theorized, Boost Buckle is seems to be a rare and powerful item, which is also used to summon his bike. This is a good point to decreased the airtime of the bike. Whenever the bike is not appear, then just said that the item is not dropped yet. LOL Now, let's see who we got here in this episode. Ace Ukiyo/Kamen Rider Geats: A Mysterious guy who is the champion of the previous DGP, and seems that he might win it for more than once now. Michinaga Azuma/Kamen Rider Buffa: The purple bull rider. He seems to be Ace's rival. One point that interesting is that, Michinaga doesn't remember Tsumuri and anything about DGP after the game ended and Tsumuri come to him again. So why did Ace remember? Takeshi Goutokuji/Kamen Rider Shirowe: The polar bear rider. His name came from Shiro Kuma (White Bear/Polar Bear). His actor once portrayed as KyoryuBlue from Kyoryuger. He's viewed as a pretty good commoner, since he has only B or C rank item, but survived until the last game. Keiwa Sakurai/Kamen Rider Tycoon: A green Tanuki! Tanuki is something that might look alike to a Racoon. There's a Tailed-Beast with one tail in Naruto, and I believe he is a Tanuki, so it's kinda like him. Keiwa is the freshly graduated university student, and looking for a job. Sara Sakurai: Keiwa's older sister. Fun Fact, her actress' younger sister is portrayed in DonBrothers, the current super sentai series as one of the main character, OniSister. Neon Kurama/Kamen Rider Nago: A Yellow Kitty Rider! Well, I believe Nago has something to do with Neko (Cat). She's a rich girl, but seems like she doesn't like her life, so she usually run away from home and becomes a YouTuber or something liker that. Tsumuri: The game navigator. Girori: a concierge stationed at the Desire Hall Ben and John: Neon's Bodyguards. If I recall correctly, John's actor, Tom Constantine is one of a few foreign actors to participate in Kamen Rider after quite a long time since Fourze or Wizard. He is the stuntman, and he is the big fan of Kamen Rider! Kamen Rider Geats first episode is quite good, but for me, seems like it's not as epic and impactful as Zero-One's and Revice's 1st ep. Other than this, let's wait and see for what will they present us. Fun Fact: Kamen Rider Geats is written by Yuya Takahashi, the same Writer with Ex-Aid's and Zero-One's! So we could count on him with high hope. Weekly Raise Buckle Magnum: Used by Geats, it can summon a Magnum Shooter 40X which is able to set a buckle up and strike a shot. It has 2 modes, Handgun and Rifle mode. Boost Buckle: Quite a rare and incredible item. Used by Geats to access Boost's armor and summon the Boost Striker. Armed Arrow: Used by Shirowe, summon a green bow that seems to be a repainted of Zamonas' bow from Zi-O's movie.

Hahaha I guess I see the practical reasoning for not wanting the bike to show up too much! Thank you so much for the character breakdowns, wow does that help!!! Also cool about the bodyguards, it's always fun seeing foreign actors pop up in Kamen Rider! I truly appreciate all the trivia and fun facts!!
