Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, season 9, eps 18- 20!  WHOA!!!!!!  So many huge things in this finale - a mix of drama, beauty, humor, and just pure chaos!!!  I thought Church's resolution in this was a sad, wistful kind of beautiful.
That whole scene just really stood out.  And then we saw Caboose's giant head peering in and it all made sense....!!!  I thought it was kinda weird that our crew would be able to take down THAT many people in their path to get to Church, until I found out who was helping them.....!!!!  WHAAATTTTT!!!!!  Carolina LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!
Good lord, I absolutely CAN NOT WAIT to get to know her more!!!!  I'm already sold on her just from what we've seen so far!  What a season!!!  God I love this show!!!
Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Church's "I forget you" may be one of the most painful things I've heard in a show. Brought me to tears the first time I watched it

Zen Reacts

Yeah they really know how to lessen your emotional trauma with moments like these!

Zen Reacts

But ending last season with Church's monologue and this season with the Tex moment really goes to show how Church is the best character in this series

Technically Gamma should be the first fragment harvested, but I don't think anyone would have the same reaction as they do to Delta being born. As far as the season as a whole goes, I've seen a lot of people over the years claim that this should have been two different seasons, one for the prequel and one for the memory unit. While I'd happily watch an entire prequel season (who wouldn't?) I don't think the memory unit story could really carry a whole 2 hour season on its own. Season 9 is a lot like season 7: overshadowed by the seasons before and after it, but there's some solid comedy and some plot stuff that's more important than it appears. And that message at the end, about how all the chaos Leonard Church has caused is because he can't let go of his dead wife, I wasn't ready for that when it came out. I skipped right by it when it premiered. But now that I'm older, and have a wife myself, it hits a lot harder. Alpha and Epsilon have caused a lot of problems over the run of the show because of their hang ups about Tex, and now we've seen a little bit of the Director doing the same thing in the prequel episodes. It all hangs together when you think about it, and I didn't get that until rewatching it years later.

34:01 Hey they were able to take down the Meta with little to no help from Wash.

When we try and make you aware of something, there’s usually a reason behind it… 😉 Anyway, so based on Sarge’s logic - why don’t you just turn on the camera and point to the stuff you’d like to have in that room and then it’ll magically appear in frame? 😁 I see you forgot about Andy, but don’t worry. He key down both Grif’s plan and Simmons’ desperate attempt to finally speak his mind because he had stage fright. Hey… it happens to guys all the time, there, there! Delta is the first AI to be harvested and the process hasn’t been perfected, so his confusion is natural coming into existence. There’s a poignancy to the scene between Church and Tex where he just finally figures out what’s holding back both himself, and her. He’s obsessed with the idea of her, but the way he keeps remembering her is as someone who failed - and we see firsthand how that’s been affecting her, even if she doesn’t realize it. So by being willing to let her go, he didn’t just free her, but himself. Of course, Caboose being the God of the memory unit had to show up and disturb everything. “We’re the good guys… right?” York and North are beginning to have doubts. Washington saw C.T. having a communication with someone. And also, the Director is manipulating Carolina because she’s no longer on the top of the leaderboard: Texas has surpassed her. So now she’s in “do whatever it takes” mode. Speaking of which… SURPRISE! I kept thinking I should remind you of that conversation about Tex telling Church Carolina was dead but o didn’t want to come off as spoiling. But I had to plant the seed before this batch. Now you see why. “I get the feeling the stuff with the Freelancers is reaching a fever pitch..” Me: “You poor sweet summer child, we aren’t even warmed up yet. You’re not ready.” So there may be a bit of confusion regarding the upcoming miniseries: so I’ll lay the groundwork ahead of time. These take places before the events at the end of Season 9 canonically, however, they were released after Season 9 finished. They’re more like bonus stories. And don’t worry, I wouldn’t have told you to do them if it wasn’t worth the time. :)

When I saw Caboose I flipped out and lost it haha 😄 😆 😅 That's how you end a season! That was awesome! And I'm so glad we're going to get more Carolina!

kamenriderhime

HAHAHAHA right?!!?!? It was SO GOOD right! And I can't wait to get to know Carolina!!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah for sure! Church definitely has the most going on out of anyone, I feel like on a personal level, we know him the most. He's an awesome character!!!!! Still can't believe this all started with such humble beginnings, the show has come so far in terms of everything, including really well written characters!!

kamenriderhime

That's a good point! Yeah I can see how they're 2 very different things, but I didn't mind them being put together! I can see why that had such an impact for sure!! It does make a lot of sense when you're able to follow everything back to the Director's actions because of Allison. It's pretty mind blowing!!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah, you guys are pretty clever that way! HAHAHAH it doesn't exist until it's in the frame you know :P Hahaha I was not prepared for Andy! Makes sense that Delta would be disoriented. The scene with Church and Tex was really profound. He set both of them free for sure. And then Caboose shows up haha. Yeah I can tell the freelancers are starting to question things. And the secret communication was interesting, hmmm. Also makes sense that Carolina was acting more or less out of desperation there. OMG, I had no clue at all about Carolina, it wasn't spoilery whatsoever, but I am glad you told me cause it's way less of a twist without it!!!!!!!! Ohhh gotcha, thanks for clarifying on the timeline of the miniseries!!!! Can't wait!!

Kayleigh McRae

Reds and Blues : "You ever wonder why we're here?" Freelancers : "We're the good guys, right?" I love how both groups end up with a question that defines how much they don't know about their situation. The freelancers don't know what they are being plunged into. The director is going rogue with his experimentation. And so they think they are serving man kind by following him. Never question your Superior sort of thing. But it's a nice parallel to how the Reds and Blues ignored the feeling of unease just like the freelancers did.

2022-10-16 19:54:44 I love this set of episodes and your excitement at the end was great. Episode 18 had such amazing humor. Grif’s plan to get a bomb is actually brilliant and he doesn’t often come up with sensible plans. Andy the bomb is back and it is not a pleasure LOL. Tex’s burn was absolutely savage. I enjoyed the meta jokes with the Reds this episode. Yeah Sarge is not the most tactical person when it comes to his plans. The scene of Delta’s creation is the most unnerving/unsettling thing in the show to this point. Eerie was a good word to describe it. And the confusion and manipulation was very sad. I think what makes it even worse for the audience is that we have gotten to know him in previous seasons so it’s like seeing a friend being hurt. The foreshadowing with what the Director and Counselor are saying is menacing and creepy. It’s interesting how the Counselor is going about talking to Delta psychologically/from a therapist standpoint. I love how this show balances the lighthearted and serious and all the emotional stuff in between. Episode 19 is great for starting the emotional stuff of the finale. I think most people who have said this in history would agree if you have to ask “are we the good guys?“you probably aren’t. It makes sense to start asking this after all the secrecy and police/military attacking them as well as the disastrous practice where York lost his eye where the Director shows his intensity. There also seems to be things brewing in the past storyline. I love the finale because of the emotional resolution & the cliffhanger. Tex being the reason behind everything because of how strong Allison was is beautiful although sad because of the terrible things it led to. The dialogue in this episode is so well written and I love the voice acting for Church is incredible it captures the emotion so well. It’s heartbreaking but Church letting her go was probably the best thing for him and Tex. The whole Caboose Is God thing is so damn funny. And he is aware they are in a fictional show so it would make sense LOL. It’s so good to be back in the real world in the present. Carolina showing up is an insane revelation and was even more exciting back in the day. It’s unfortunate that the credits are currently cut short because of the awesome music but that makes it more exciting for you and us when you get to the soundtrack. Carolina showing up makes you wonder why Tex believed she was dead from that miniseries. Also makes you wonder how Caroline got from doing anything for the Director to wanting to kill him. I’m glad you are already excited to see how we got from point A to point B. Awesome reaction & I can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Don't worry, season 10 has more answers about Project Freelancer, and Carolina's survival. Also, a lot of kickass animation! Looking forward to next season.

kamenriderhime

Oooh, those are some big questions! Very true that there's doubt on both sides. That's a dangerous path for sure, particularly when it's someone as unstable as the Director. The parallel is indeed interesting!!! Great point!

kamenriderhime

Haha thanks! Yeah who knew Grif could actually come through on something! Too bad about Andy though haha. What a sick burn from Tex! Delta's creation was a disturbing scene for sure! I know, it is like seeing a friend being hurt! The conversation is creepy for sure, in terms of future events, and I do love how they manage to balance the tones! Yeah if you have to question it that much, it's not a good sign sadly. The resolution was sad and beautiful for sure!!! And the cliffhanger, omg! I couldn't agree more about Church's VA. So sad but incredibly well done. Caboose being the god here is just too funny and too spot on haha! Oh you're right, even funnier knowing he's already broken the fourth wall lol. What an ending!!! Too bad about the music, at least I'll get to hear more in the OST! I'm dying to see how we got from point A to point B for sure!!! I can't wait to learn more! Thank you so much for all the encouragement and support!!! :D
