Hey everyone!  Here I am with Red vs. Blue, the MIA miniseries!  This was such a fun, silly adventure!  I have no idea when we're supposed to be here, but almost our whole crew is here for what seems to be a one-off adventure about the "disappearance" of Grif.  We hit all the old favorites, like confused Caboose, the grunts, Grif jokes, and even appearances by Vic and Doc!!!!  Of course, the whole thing was just a silly misunderstanding, but being along for the ride was fun!!  Can't wait for one more miniseries and then it's on to season 10!!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

As far as I know, there is no definite answer on where that mini-series is placed in the timeline, we can only assume that it's anywhere between seasons 8 and 9 when Church was in the Epsilon unit. In S9 Church said that he has to constantly go through all the memories in the device, until he finds Tex, so those events are probably just one of many iterations that Church lived there. Also fun trivia: Doc's line ,,Hi Sarge, it's weird to hear from you" is a reference to the fact that they both share the same voice actor (Matt Hullum). Actually, before that mini-series was released, there was a table reading of the early version of the script, at the Halo Fest event in 2011. That was also the first time Matt Hullum saw the script, so he had to improvise rapidly swapping between his Sarge and Doc's voices before a live audience xD. I think there is a recording of the whole thing somewhere on youtube.

So remember when Epsilon Church talked to Tucker about recursion, of living through multiple iterations until you find the solution to a problem and pass that along to the first iteration? That's what is happening here. He's lived through several iterations to find Tex prior to Season 9 and this mini series was one of them. It's mostly just fun, and honestly kinda of a nice breather after the intensity of the past couple seasons lol

I actually managed to miss these two season 9 Mini-series the first time they came out. Didn't see them til 4 years ago, so they almost feel brand new to me, by comparison. And they really are just fun. While many of the Minis have important plot details in them, these are the memory unit versions of the cast, and they can do whatever without it affecting the story at all. I'm guessing you'll like Where There's a Wall a little better. (More Caboose)

I believe I told you that both of the miniseries occur somewhere prior to the events that ended Season 9, but it probably escaped your retention because of everything else going on. Anyway, to sum it up, the miniseries are one offs and are much more shenanigan based - and take place prior to the memory unit being ripped open. :) As far as this particular episode goes I want to leave a link here which I think you’ll enjoy - this series got a live table read from its cast members for part of it and all sorts of shenanigans were involved: https://www.ign.com/videos/halo-fest-red-vs-blue-table-read You should probably not tell Caboose to stack things like Tetris, he’ll take you literally. Also, he is correct, the rows DO disappear when you make a full one! The real question is who would kidnap Grif, and why? Also Sarge’s rendition of “Friday” is just about the right amount of cringe… “Maybe they think we are collecting all the most disgusting people and needed an orange one to complete the set.” “Gotta catch ‘em all.” I’ve heard this reference… “This isn’t a game, this is real life!” “The only way to win is not to play.” - Caboose Me: …I’m going to have to get back to you when I understand what this means. I may be a while. The reference to Sarge and Doc sounding weird talking to each other and then Church’s Barb about casting being expensive? Church’s VA is the writer for the show, and Sarge and Doc’s VA are the same person, so he was effectively talking to himself doing both sides. Yep, that was the Halo player reference. Man, that password is really hard to figure out… Oh look, it’s Donut! What? Donut was missing? Do you get the feeling they all forget what happened the day before often and stuff like this happens way more than it doesn’t? 😏

Manny

Lol darn it Donut. Could not have worded that just a tiny bit better my friend 👌

kamenriderhime

LOL right?! :P The cut up/pasted letters didn't allow for a lot of wiggle room with the wording perhaps!

kamenriderhime

Oh wow! Glad you caught up on them! It is kinda nice to just have some one-off stories!!! OH!!! More Caboose is always better, yay!

kamenriderhime

Ohhhhhhh that's what it is!!! Wow! I hadn't even thought about that. It is a nice breather right!!

kamenriderhime

Gotcha! Thanks for the info! I hadn't even thought of that! Oh that's fun haha!!! WHOA, that must have been some show to see/hear!!!!!!!

kamenriderhime

Oh you probably did, sorry!!! It's nice to have some silly adventures!! AHHHH yes I've heard of this video, I wanna see! Thanks! Hahaha I mean nothing Caboose is saying here is untrue, it's just painfully literal!!! LOL the cringe of Friday! I got the impression halfway through that the "kidnapping" was gonna be a big misunderstanding! LOL the gotta catch em all reference! I couldn't tell if Caboose's line there was funny or really absurdly deep....or both! Oh yes, I think I remember you or someone mentioning they shared a VA!!! That's so fun! LOL the grunts, I love them! Poor Donut! Yeah, I think I see a pattern here....!!!

Sorry I'm a little late to the conversation, but just a heads up. The "Where There's a Will, There's a Wall" miniseries was written by Miles Luna. It was his first contribution as a writer to Rooster Teeth. Enjoy.
