My Hero Academia 6x06 "Encounter, Part 2" reaction & review (Patreon)

Hey everyone!  Here's my next reaction to MHA!  Whoa, it didn't take long to put together the whole One for All thing, did it?  I think there will be a lot of questions later, assuming everyone makes it out of this, but for now Izuku was smart in being able to lead Shigaraki away!!!  Something tells me we won't have the luxury of staying out of this fight, but I'm looking forward to seeing our older heroes get in a few good hits on him first.  And fingers crossed no one dies!!!  Also, can we TAKE A MOMENT TO APPRECIATE BAKUGO?!  I know he has his own reasons for doing this, but I can't help but think there is SOME motivation on the part of friendship there.
Not to mention the dude is a ray of fiery sunshine that was able to breathe a little levity into this whole effed up mess for me!!!!  Can't wait for next week, but I'm scared!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

All you should really know is that the only one who is in no danger of dying for plot reason is Deku. Its not something I've seen anyone notice yet but when Shigaraki is using search theres a 3rd light following just behind Deku and Bakugo. The silver lining of our situation going into next week is that those arent high end nomu theyre just upper tier

Hi Hime :) Toga has often been either jovial or slightly pissed off, but here you can clearly feel her rage. Twice was her friend, and we can understand her reaction. When Izuku lures Shigaraki somewhere else, you can see three dots going in the same direction. Izuku the brightest, Bakugo right next to it and a third further back. Now, since they just left their friends, it's not hard to imagine that it's one of them who follows them. To be clear, even though I read that story arc, I don't remember all of the events, so I could very well be wrong. The Nomu were underground, that's what protected them from Decay and when Shigaraki broke the communications, he created a short circuit which woke up these Nomu. Chances are they're not "finished products", as they're time-consuming and complicated to produce, so that might help reassure you, yeah.

I was anxious this entire episode just waiting for someone to die, thankfully it didn’t happen this time but I’m so worried! The whole time Bakugo’s thinking about revenge for being kidnapped I was thinking “Get out of there! You’re going to get yourself killed!” On a less grim note, I like the title of this episode, cause “part 1” was when Shigaraki talked with Deku in the season 2 finale.

They were underground! Sorry, should have remembered that! Well at least they're not as bad as the totally finished high-ends I guess!!

so, to recap: I like Deku and Bakugo, I like Shigaraki and Toga, but most of all, I really liked your scream at the end of the episode, it was so relatable xD gonna see your next one right now

2022-12-31 00:39:59 This episode was insane & your reaction definitely reflected that. It was so scary even Crunchyroll was hesitating to play by buffering LOL. The terror is reinforced by the way the police are reacting. The fact that the damage & debris is so extensive/large they can’t see what’s going on by satellite. Also I’m pretty sure theyting at first because everyone was just trying to survive. Thank goodness Hawks is going to get medical treatment quickly. I forgot to say it in my comment for episode 5 but for the most part I don’t really like the fan service in MHA even when I find characters attractive but the moment with Mt. Lady’s butt is the right way to use fan service for humor. For clarification fan service doesn’t bother me but in this show I think it’s done badly. Also apparently in the manga they said booty instead of butt and I find that funny because I am a child LOL. Someone with ice powers against Cementoss is not a matchup I ever thought about but it’s interesting/cool. Creating a cement club for Mount Lady is so awesome & vaguely reminds me of the Warhammer Titan. It’s completely understandable that Toga would lose it and go into rage mode after losing Twice & it’s as terrifying as it is sad. I love that when Compress talks about Twice dying you can hear his voice wavering showing his care/love for the man. It is crazy to see Toga lose her cool especially because to me it looks like she isn’t fully focused since she is killing some heroes but for the most part she’s slicing at random. It feels very deliberate now more than ever that her transformations melt away much like Twice’s doubles and it makes me sad. The voice acting for her was chilling it really showed her anger & sorrow. We have seen Toga look crazy but never like this with her Cat like eyes almost looking demonic that’s a great moment especially with Gigantomachia’s rising behind her. It must be a big morale booster to have the big guy on your side from the villains perspective. He is insanely big looking at Toga’s size compared to just his hand. It’s interesting to see the new side effects of all for one as well as the person’s presence in his mind & seeing how Shigaraki reacts to it. You have to admit the way he is like the number one already with a big damn smile on his face is somewhat similar to Izuku. The raw power on display here from Endeavor is crazy and it seems like he has decided that they need to kill Shiggy laws be Damned because he's just that dangerous. Thank God for Endeavor’s great reaction time. Also the way he spun himself around to attack Shigaraki from behind was so cool. Unfortunately he has multiple quirks including a shield that looks like what Nine used in the Heroes Rising movie. And even worse he has complete understanding of all those abilities. It must be frustrating that Shigaraki is basically ignoring Endeavor after everything especially what’s happened in his life with his family recently. As soon as we saw Ragdoll my reaction was Shigaraki has search… fuck. The moment he mentions one for all is crazy. No one knows what it means but there are definitely people smart enough or have enough information to figure some stuff out. Also I agree the looks from Shigaraki are terrifying but I think they are cool from an animation standpoint. The implications of what will happen if he arrives at the evacuation site are horrifying. I’m glad Deku made the right decision for the civilians by luring Shigaraki away even if the pros would have advised a different course of action. It’s crazy to think about the development of Bakugo & Izuku throughout the show with them side-by-side like this in a way it gives us hope/is inspiring. It’s awesome to see how much control Deku has over black whip now. The talk with Endeavor has got me thinking of what will happen after this whole situation. I don’t know how it all is going to shake out but I think more people are going to know the story of one for all. Definitely not everyone but a lot more it’s only a matter of time. The talk between Bakugo and Izuku is some much needed lightheartedness/hope in the middle of of all this. They are friends at this point not good friends LOL but friends. It’s hilarious to hear the meta line do you think your the main character. I love how they both have personal reasons that are different for going after Shiggy. It’s impressive that Bakugo is on a equal level the one for all power at 30% it’s a crazy increase in power/skill when last we saw he was having trouble fighting Deku at 8% at the end of season 3. Also I think Todoroki is the other person following them being seen with the search ability. I don’t know if it’s a different version but I love that during this moment they are playing a you say run instrumental. And if it couldn’t get worse communication is now down. It’s mind blowing that Shigaraki now gives off feelings of death like all for one. The imagery of them disintegrating looks great but is truly disturbing. Gran Torino & the other heroes showing up is a relief small as it may be. Also yeah Bakugo & Deku were planning to fight a monster by themselves because they are insane. I love Aizawa coming to his kids defense it’s awesome and heartwarming. As callbacks calling him cool & the title of the episode are fantastic. Shiggy’s insane physical ability and him slowly getting stronger is terrifying on another level. Also way to jinx us by saying it’s only one enemy LOL. The cliffhangers are somehow getting worse. You had a great discussion at the end. This show is just meant to induce conflicted feelings. Also I just want to let you know I think you missed my comment on your season 6 episode 5 reaction. Anyway great reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Haha the whole thing was scary - the buffering, the ep, etc.!!! I hear you about fan service, and I agree that the Mt. Lady joke was pretty well executed lol - not gonna lie, I do find the wording change from the manga a bit giggly as well hehehe! Oh good comparison about the Warhammer Titan! I know, it was brutal watching Toga being so raw that way. Good call on the effect being similar to Twice's duplicates too. Endeavor's thinking on his feet for sure! The smile / Number One comment is like a dark, twisted version of Izuku for sure! Yeah it just keeps getting worse with Shigaraki having Search, and then getting interested in One For All. Yeah he looks pretty awesome! Our boys have come so far for sure. Watching Izuku handle that blackwhip like an old pro is sweet. HAHAHA the MC line was everything! Good call on the music too! Yes things go from bad to worse for sure, ugh. This escalated so fast!! I love Aizawa protecting his kids! LOL I know, why'd they have to go and say that about there only being one enemy!
