Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 1, episode 10!!!  OMG WHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!  How was I right?!?!!?!?  Not only did the new Jojo become the new MC, but we did a time jump of 50 YEARS?!?!?!  Through this whole thing, I was in quite a shock, but was thinking......"at least Speedwagon survived".....!!!!  YOU GUYS.  What have I said about protecting Speedwagon?!  So wow, our new Jojo is a sassy young man and I like him!  Looks like we are setting the story up for Straizo of all people to be Dio's successor.   I still have a bit of whiplash from this episode, if you'll excuse me....!!!!  But yeah, as sudden as it was, I'm really enjoying the new setup so far!  Guess we'll see what the new vibe/tone of this story is compared to the Phantom Blood arc!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Now that you know this anime is basically about the joestar family it's self multi generational basically

As the great philosophical text Streets of Rage tells us: "ONLY TRUST YOUR FISTS POLICE WILL NEVER HELP YOU"

Now you see why they call it 'Parts' instead of 'Arcs' like with some Manga. xD Each new part features a new main character, though there might be a few returning characters here and there from the previous parts... It just depends if they can *survive* long enough to make it to another Part. 😱 Whenever there's a main character switch, the new protagonist's personality always clashes against the personality of the previous protagonist. o: For instance Jonathan was the absolute Chaddest of Gentlemen, and yet Joseph Joestar here is such a cheeky little troublemaker that he's honestly just a Looney Tunes character. 🤣 Like to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Araki made Joseph after watching too many Bugs Bunny cartoons. xD

Hi Hime :) Welcome to the family, those who shout Jojo at the end of the first opening and who were surprised by the death of Jonathan lol. Now that you've met Joseph, I can tell you, this series is divided into "parts" because each part has its Jojo and its story, that's what allows the series to renew itself so much, and also explains the glamorous side that you could see, coming from the part probably more recent and closer to us at the timeline. You spotted that there were two babies, Erina and Jonathan's and the one she saves. I've seen some people get confused, but you got it. But yeah, Jonathan's death is a time when most newbies are wary, like you say, he's the MC and he dies ? This is where we understand that no one is safe. he manga that Joseph reads is Baoh, another work by Araki. In the original manga it's just Jump it seems to me, but here the studio wanted to make a nod to the author. There is also another at Gorgeous Irene, another work by Araki. It shows that the studio had some respect for the original author. Joseph is the fusion of three people, Sherlock Holmes, Jackie Chan and Indiana Jones. His physique is inspired by Harrison Ford and his cunning side clearly comes from Indiana Jones/Han Solo. The deduction and predicting his opponent's next sentence is Joseph's gimmick, which makes him one of the most fun Jojos to follow, well you'll discover another of his gimmicks in the next episode, a family technique according to him. It is said in the episode that Joseph's father is Erina and Jonathan's son, and his mother is the baby Erina saved. Which is quite romantic in a way. About Joseph's father, George II Joestar is his name, you'll learn more about him later, but his name comes from Jonathan's father, George Joestar (hence the II). There are novels released in Japan, telling part of his life, it was released under the name Jorge Joestar. But since it's also based on elements that only happen in part 6, I don't recommend it for the moment. In any case, I'm happy that you like the series, especially since you haven't yet arrived at part 3, which is really the one that made the series so successful.

Spadeas

From what I believe Joseph's inspirations are Sherlock Holmes for analysis and prediction, Jackie Chan for playfulness and humor and Harrison Ford for appearance and Indiana Jones/Han Solo aspect. But I can't contradict you on the cartoonish side of this part, especially with a very... explosive passage if you E.SEE D.SEE what I mean.

I kind of view the first nine episodes as more of a “prologue” to the main events than anything else. Obviously fifty years have passed, but I have to say your comment about “unless I see a character reduced to ashes” is relevant because of a certain show’s anniversary. (You’ll see it in your DMs in a little bit. 😉) So you kind of had a moment when you were asking “what happened to the baby?” during the show and they were literally telling you. Both Jonathan/Erina’s child and the baby they saved ended up getting married. They are Jojo’s parents. Straizo has quite an about turn, but it just shows the kind of influence Dio has exerted on the world, even after his demise. There’s always going to be people hungry for power and seeking longer life. You think the policeman scene was gross? I’m going to tell you now, I can handle almost anything… but there is something coming later down the line that really did a number on me. And that’s saying something. This? This is a drop in the bucket. Jojo’s got a lot more spunk in this character. However, he definitely is a bit of a hothead, and don’t do anything to upset Erin’s or he might just Tommy gun you to death… what’s Hamon again? I suppose I should say it.. REO Speedwagon, you’ll be missed. (Spelling typo intentional.) /ducks out before Melissa throws a figure at him. 😁

Ah, so exciting to say goodbye to Johnathan and Dio, along with Phantom Blood as a whole, and hello to Joseph and part 2: Battle Tendency! JJBA's whole part structure makes it really unique compared to a lot of other long running anime/manga, where rather than just telling one big continuous story it has a variety of more or less independent storylines with their own heroes and villains. Honestly it's something I love a lot about the series, it really lets it continually change things up, reinventing itself in terms of tone, style, and mood, and also letting it give characters like Johnathan complete arcs without needing to keep them going for hundreds of episodes. Definitely a lot to love about the more traditional style of long running series (I love me some HxH for example), but I do really enjoy JJBA's way of handling things. In any case, can't wait to see you dig into part 2, it's one that tends to be really beloved by the fanbase, and I know it's where I got really hooked into the series! Looking forward to next week already! (Though really, where did Joseph get that tommy gun from?)

Manny

Holy crap this show really has a bunch of random no chill killings. Wow okay I’m going with the baby (inside Erin’s) being the glam pompadour owning Jojo. It’s gotta be right? Ugh. And yes Dio is too evil that it’s hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing when he popped out that casket. Lastly bravo for Erina that’s a string woman. It’s crazy. I didn’t notice till his demise how much a character like Jojo Joestar would really hit me. He was a good man. I guess assuming he’d always be around made it harder to process but wow still I’m shocked :0

Manny

Boom right on the money we were! High five! ✋

Loken

The videos not working for me.

Ohhhh wow, so we will be following other Jojo's after this!! I was wondering about that. Oh, I'm happy that some of them survive!!! Chaddest of Gentleman lol!!! I like Joseph so far! Interesting about the character clashes. Hahahahaha I am getting some Looney Tunes vibes :P Spadeas - WHOA, sounds like the perfect man, holy crap!!! Oh boy....looking forward to that passage....!!!

kamenriderhime

Right?!!? Whoa, our predictions were spot on, yay!!! High five!!! Dio's just deliciously evil in these scenes haha. Yeah Erina proved herself to be WAY stronger than I originally thought! I know, I'm gonna miss Jonathan!!! That's the thing, I wasn't expecting to lose him either!!!! Big shock!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) OMG!!!! I'm officially initiated!!! Wow, that surprised me! Gotcha, that does keep things fresh and explains what I've seen in photos from later on! Oh yay, glad I spotted the baby thing! I know, now I really know no one is safe!!! Oh no kidding about the manga! That's a nice nod! WOW, that's a pretty amazing combo of characters!!! OHHHH I missed that part about the baby being the mom, awwww!!! I can't wait to learn more about George!! I'll hold off on reading anything so as not to spoil myself! WOW, can't believe the best is yet to come!!

kamenriderhime

I know, it was quite the goodbye!!! It's truly unique. I hear you, long running series are great too, but this is a really fresh and interesting way of storytelling! I'm so excited for Pt 2!!! LOL that's a good question hahaha!!

kamenriderhime

Yeah that's a good way to look at it actually! AHHHHHHH no, how could I have used that verbiage so nonchalantly!!! >.< Oh oops, I did miss that line of text, but I love that the baby ended up being Jojo the 2nd's mom!! WHAT?! Oh no, I'm terrified for that scene! Good thing I don't eat while doing my reactions lol. Hahahaha who needs Hamon when you've got a Tommy gun I guess??? :P I do love his fiery nature! Hahahah noooo poor Speedwagon!!!!!!!!!

Senpai

Joseph's fun to watch, he's such a troll. 😂 He's still one of my favorite Jojos even after I caught up to Jojo Part 8. It's always fun to watch how different Jojos react to situations and conduct themselves during battle. Like Jonathan always takes his battles head on, but Joseph's a whole lot sneakier than that... Honestly with his level of wit and intelligence, it makes me wish I could get to see Joseph and Dio(back before he became a head in a jar like from Futurama. 🤣) go toe to toe. I want to hear that high pitched: "WRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" when Dio realizes he's been duped by Joseph so bad. I'm so glad when people see the Looney Tunes comparison with Joseph. 😊 Like Spadeas said, it's probably not an intentional reference... But... Honestly it just kind of comes out like one sometimes, you'll probably see why next week. 🤣 It's just more prominent in the recent fighting game that got rereleased because all those kind of 'Looney Tune' moments and lines get used back to back in his move list and voice lines.

Sirghostfreak

Im sorry if I'm bothering you but the video still isnt available

kamenriderhime

Oh no, I'm so sorry!!! Not at all, I totally forgot lol. I just replaced the link with a brand new, processed one! It should work now!!!! So sorry about that

Oh yes, I love Joseph, Straizo became a d*ck out of nowhere, like come on, nothing in part 1 implied he could even feel envy towards Dio. I mean, the man killed both Dire and Zeppeli (by proxy but nonetheless), don't understand that one. And of course....they took Jonathan from us, why taking Speedwagon too!? My poor heart can't handle that much! (I'm okay nowadays, but the first time I watched it, not so much) Great reaction, glad you like where this could be going, and gonna wait for the next one! :)

kamenriderhime

Yeah the Straizo thing was pretty out of nowhere, I might be starting to understand it a bit more, but still not sure! Joseph is pretty great! OMG Speedwagon, I was SO UPSET!!! I hope you love my next reactions!!! And thanks!! :D

kamenriderhime

Hahha so true! Wow, that's a lot of Jojos, it's saying something that Joseph stands out! But yeah, it's interesting so far to see the differences! OMG Joseph vs. Dio would be amazing!! HAHAHAHAHA the Futurama reference, omg, it's so spot on lol!!!! The noise Dio would make would wake the dead for sure! Lol I can totally see the Looney Tunes comparison! So cool about the game as well, love that they're leaning into it haha.

2022-12-31 00:39:13 These episodes are great the end of one adventure and the start of another. Awesome reactions I knew you would be pretty shocked. I love all the heartwarming, happy moments we got before tragedy struck. It’s really great to see how loving Erina and Jonathan are even with the little time they had. They are a very cute couple. Also of course Dio would have the fanciest coffin possible. I think that priest was just corrupt and doing some shady business or something. The imagery of the wine looking like blood is great even if it’s dark. I agree Dio as a head in a jar is amazing it’s ridiculous and terrifying. I love that Dio’s now fully respects Jonathan after his defeat especially because you can believe it through his messed up reasoning. I think the show does a great job of depicting how bad the situation is with zombies overrunning the ship, Jonathan being terribly injured & Erina being in danger. I love how poetic things become at the end of the episode especially the mother who dies reminding Jonathan of what his own mother did for him. I think it’s awesome how Jonathan went out protecting his love, the innocent and by stopping Dio the world. I think it’s so fitting that the 2 of them died together considering they are almost supernaturally connected. Also the illustration of Jonathan holding him is gorgeous. I agree that the ending is beautiful in a way. I think the author realied on preconceptions about main characters to do something really unique by making this about the Joestar family. The time skip is crazy but this time period is one I find interesting more than the previous at least to me even If 1800s Britain is also interesting. It’s unfortunate that kind of racism was prevalent back then but thankfully Joseph is very good hearted even if he is a bit of a punk and rough around the edges. He certainly taught these corrupt cops a lesson. I love his design and how different his personality is compared to Jonathan while still having a noble heart. Also he seems very stylish. I love how bad ass granny Erina is especially when standing up for Smokey. Oh yeah I really love Joseph’s voice acting. Straizo’s betrayal is unfortunate but makes for a good villainous turn. I think the Tommy gun scene should tell you that Joseph is a bit of a loose cannon and maybe scratch that definitely crazy. Although he is also very clever even more so than Jonathan which is cool. I’m glad you already really like Joseph since I love him as a character a lot. RIP. Speedwagon. Awesome reactions & keep up the great work. :-) <3

Yay! Thank you! I know, at least they had a little time together, they were very sweet. Hahah even Dio's coffin is extra :P Yeah the wine/blood thing was great. It really says something that Dio actually has respect for Jonathan at this point. They for sure brought the intensity and sense of danger with the zombie/ship scenes!! The connection with the baby's mother and Jonathan's mother was great. It was so powerful and fitting for Jonathan and Dio to go out together and the visual was awesome! I agree that it's really unique to make this about the family instead of one or two main characters! The racism is disgusting but I suppose it wouldn't be right to tell a story during this time period and pretend it doesn't exist. Joseph showed those cops alright!!! Yeah he's so different, yet the heart is similar! So true! Hahahha Erina is all fun and games until you hurt someone she cares about, I loved that she went total stoic boss and wanted Smokey defended. Yeah the Straizo thing was so out of nowhere but it's also kind of an interesting twist. Hahaha yeah Joseph's, erm, a bit impulsive! Yeah he grew on me fast!!! Speedwagon noooo!!! I'm so happy you're enjoying my reactions!!! Thanks again for being so awesome and supportive!!!
