Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 6 of The Bad Batch!!!  WOOOOWWWW did not think we'd have a cameo from the Martez sisters here!!!
I really thought they were just doing a job at first, but knowing that they're working for what is probably the very beginning of the rebellion is pretty amazing!!!!  I'm dying to know who their contact is!!!  I think Hunter made the right decision, it's good to see him choosing what's right over doing whatever it takes to get by.  Also WRECKER NOOOOO!!!!  I KNEW it!!  Someone do brain surgery NOW!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

The mission for this one is on Corellia, Han Solo's home planet. The crew can't fully trust Cid - would you! - but she is the best option for them just now as she says, so that they get paid, get info and she can keep them off the grid. Good to see the Martez sisters back and doing their own thing. Another link to their arc btw is the two barfly's at the start in Cid's, were the two fella's rescued from the cells in the Martez arc by Trace. They went to Ord Mantel and are now propping up Cid's bar, much to her annoyance! :D Poor Wrecker, he does hate heights! And getting banged on his head again, thats not good at all considering whats in there! That Echo joke is absolutely horrendous, and I love it! :D There is a hint as to who the contact is if you know where to look ;)

I am still only up to S2 in Clone Wars so I have no context for what’s going on with the sisters, I’ll just assume they’re tied in somewhere. Omega seems to be learning things at quite a rapid rate. At the the start of the episode she was really struggling with the bow but by the end she seemed to have really picked it up. Now, look… there’s a few tropes in this franchise - ANYTIME you get a set piece with a moving conveyor belt flowing into a lava pit you just KNOW at some point someone’s going to find themselves stuck on it somehow. The more surprising thing is that you didn’t notice Omega was in that position for over half a minute because you were ranting. 😂 Okay so it does seem Wrecker’s having issues and based on what I’m seeing it seems to be directly tied to him suffering head trauma. Let’s think about it: he hit his head pretty hard during the crash a couple Rod ago and he crashed head first into the pillar leading to him starting to mumble the same thing Crosshair did. But since the Clones here haven’t been issued any orders will that be something that helps them figure it out? Wrecker’s not exactly the most forthcoming about this sort of thing. But “watch your head” might have several repercussions here. “Is there an Echo in here?” “Yes.” Interesting how Hunter just volunteered the data once he heard what it was going to be used for. Also I imagine seeing battle droids work on the side of the protagonists is a really weird feeling at this time. By the way, regarding the end credits in general on this show - they’re really only 30 seconds or so in length each time. If you don’t want to risk skipping something, play it up to the Lucasfilm Animation logo. If anything will happen it’ll happen by the . Anything after that is foreign voiceover credits which turn about 3-4 minutes and aren’t part of the original episode design. :)

Interesting I’m not sure if I would have enough trust in Cid yet but know that I know she’s played by Rhea Perlman, why not? 🤷‍♂️

I couldn't remember who it was but once I looked her up I was like OMG CARLA hahaha!!! Yeah, I'm not sure if I'd say trust....I'd say our interests align for now, I guess!

kamenriderhime

Ohhhh I knew that sounded familiar! Yeah, I agree - definitely not full trust, but aligned interests, perhaps! It was nice to see them right! Ohhhh no kidding about the people in the bar, what a great nod! I know, poor Wrecker! Yeah he's gotta watch that head of his...!!! The Echo joke was amazing, I love dad jokes hehe!!! OMG I've seen the next two now so I think I have an idea!!! :D

kamenriderhime

You'll get there! :) Yeah she's learning fast right? It's a trope for a reason I guess! Sorry, next time I'll just sit there silent and stare at the screen instead. :P He's definitely having problems the more he gets hit in the head, and in their line of work, that's a pretty frequent hazard! The Echo joke was EVERYTHING! It's gotta be really weird to see battle droids helping, and I was proud of Hunter for what he did! Thanks about the end credits - there's a tiny screen that pops up when I'm scrolling so I can see what I'm scrolling through, which is why I just go ahead and do it earlier!

Excellent well I can tell you now that the hint was the R7 unit in the Martez's ship (what was it called again, the Silver Angel?). In the final ep of Clone Wars, it gets shot down as Rex and Ahsoka make their escape, but is seen in parts again next to the Y-Wing as Rex puts the shovel away before looking over to see Ahsoka standing over the graves of the clones. They rebuilt it and seemingly gave it to the Martez sisters to help them do jobs for them all.

This is probably my least favorite episode, I really didn’t like the sisters so I wasn’t crazy about them popping up here. But at least we got that legendary Echo joke, so it’s worth it.
