Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 13 of The Bad Batch!!!  Oh man, you know things are gonna be tense and dangerous whenever there's spice involved!!  But DANG, did we really need Pykes AND bugs in this one?!  I can still feel my skin crawling!!  Big takeaways for me here were Omega being able to find the good in literally anyone, and Cid showing just a little that she really does give a hoot what happens to our crew, particularly Omega!  What an adventure!

2023-03-02 06:31:14 Speaking of Star Wars adventures, I've been advocating for a while now that they should do an animation with Luke and R2 going off and having adventures, while he looks around for more history to do with the Jedi and the force. I think that would be great and we could even have Mark Hamill back voicing him too. There is a Young Jedi Adventures series coming, though it looks like it will be for young kids. https://lumiere-a.akamaihd.net/v1/images/young-jedi-adventures-tall-02_ec6f26ba.jpeg?region=0,0,1536,864&width=768 The mining carts very much remind me of Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom, and the animations especially, nod to Indy a fair bit. Always like the Pykes designs, very different to a lot of aliens we see in Star Wars. If you have ever watched the A-Team, which is a heavy influence on this show, you'll see that Wrecker is B.A. Baracus, the big toughie frightened of heights (and flying in B.A's case). His scream as the infestation is all around them, is a hoot. As you note Mel, they rescued Ruby in an earlier episode, hence why the creature knows and trusts Omega.

I can’t put my finger on it, but it seems something in this episode was really… bugging me. Anyway, Cid kind of feels like a de facto crew member herself at this point, she’s kind of that grouchy neighbor who really does have your back when you need it. Also the way she gives nicknames to all the clones reminds me of what Robyn was doing to Ruby’s group during that story. Speaking of Ruby… I’m sorry, I know this wasn’t intentional… but I was thinking… what if someone was just listening to your reaction without seeing what it was and heard you talking about the pet Ruby and thought you were watching the other show? I couldn’t help laughing. Also Ruby has a red hood, so now this Ruby needs one… Don’t answer this if they explain it somewhere in Clone Wars, but I keep thinking… this “spice” is constantly getting everyone up in arms… but does anyone know exactly WHAT it is? All o know is it seems to be considered valuable and illegal, and that’s it. Okay… Wrecker dropping the flashlight down the hole… everyone raise their hands if they thought of Pippin in the Mines of Moria in LOTR. Cause that’s exactly where my mind went immediately. Also the webbing kind of reminded me of Shelob’s lair. Omega seems to, as a clone, have a very distinct focus on empathy, considering how she stood up for Roland at the end, so now I’m wondering if that might be part of HER programming… Oh well, more theory crafting fodder. She’s not wrong though… if Ruby likes you (either one), that’s probably a good sign.

I'd love that, it would be so much fun!! Awwwww the new show looks super cute!!! ^_^ I can see the Indiana Jones nod for sure! The Pykes have a unique design for sure, even for Star Wars. Ohhh I did used to watch the A-Team as a kid! I can see the references for sure!!! That's so funny lol. Gotcha, makes sense that Omega and Ruby already have a bond then!

LOL too soon!!!!!!!! I know, Cid's kind of an unofficial part of the crew at this point. I can see that with the nicknames!! LOL like how are any of us NOT supposed to think of THAT Ruby, right?! OMG!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha now I wanna sync up my reaction footage for this with an actual ep of RWBY and just see what happens :P Oh, actually I don't think that's ever directly addressed about spice! Maybe it is and I forgot, but essentially it's like powerful drugs I think? Oh yeah, I can see the LOTR reference! That's true about Omega, she is empathetic to her core! I do wonder if that's specific or just her personality she developed along the way?? Hmmm! Hahahaha yes always a good thing to have Ruby's approval, despite which Ruby you mean :P
