Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to Demon Slayer season 3, episode 2!!!  Whoa, we get more info in this one and I feel like I'm starting to maybe put a few of the pieces of the puzzle together when it comes to all these characters who resemble each other lol!  So that was an inherited memory...interesting!  The mechanical doll was fun and interesting to watch and WOW, Tanjiro has truly leveled up!  And of course, inspired someone/changed their heart in the process!!!  The Mist Hashira still seems like kind of a jerk, but if there's one thing this show has taught me it's that everyone has some kind of endearing tragic past lol, so I'll reserve judgment for now.  What a great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

So obviously, the first impression we got from this episode was the Mist Hashira (95% sure his name is Tokito) and his um, way with people. We’ve learned this about other Hashira, but there’s usually a lot more going on under the surface, so the things he says are extremely rude, and very harsh, they’re not… wrong? I don’t think he’s intentionally rubbing people the wrong way, he’s just very… blunt. He’s the kind of guy who would tell you to your face “you’re too fat, stop eating so much.” Truth hurts sometimes. As Tanjiro said, he’s “lacking in tact.” Okay, I don’t know if you caught this in the opening, but one shot seems to have all the Hashira in it because I’m pretty sure I saw Rengoku’s backside, even though he’s been gone since the Mugen Train arc finished. 👀 The doll is based on a person from 300 years ago, who Tanjiro had a dream about, and seems to have inherited his memories… and yes, you are correct that the Upper One had six eyes, and if you didn’t bring it up, I was going to. Six eyes and six arms feels like too much of a coincidence. Since Tanjiro was holding that man’s child in the dream, the theory in going with is he fathered a child and then maybe got turned into a demon and has been around ever since? Tanjiro is such a good boy he can’t stand to not butt in when he sees something he doesn’t like, though in this case, I guess you could say because of Kotetsu’s training, no good deed goes unpunished…? Apparently he nearly killed Tanjiro because he didn’t understand basic human function requirements, but Tanjiro seems to have enhanced his senses so now he can smell attacks coming…? Also what’s with Tanjiro’s sword smith hiding from him? I think the point Tanjiro is trying to make when he tells Kotetsu he might die facing Kibutsuji is that you can’t be afraid of failure. He knows it’s possible he won’t succeed in his mission, based on his personal experience. But his mind’s made up to see it through and if he hasn’t accepted that as possible result, he wouldn’t have ever started down this route in the first place. Come to think of it he did nearly crossover this week… he likes to play with fire when it comes to this sort of thing. 😂 Although it IS pretty funny watching Kotetsu try to teach trash talk to Tanjiro and it just isn’t taking. Pretty sure the harakiri mention might be slightly too far though… I suppose what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger…? And now we have a hidden sword that might possibly the belonging of the swordsman in question, but why was it in the doll and did that have anything to do with why it was functioning on such a high level? Well… Tanjiro DOES need a sword at the moment…? Now I’m wondering how the Hashiras will get involved inside such a secret village and for what purpose, because we know they’re going to have some say in the plot. This comment has gone on long enough, so off I go though! Before Tokito tells me I type too much.

As harsh as Kotetsu was he was cute. And super cute wanting his vengeance against the Hashira. The doll was cool wasn’t it 😲

Yeah I agree about the Mist Hashira, he just seems really direct to the point that it's rude...but there's really no malice behind it. Oh good call about Rengoku in the opening!!!! :O I am SO GLAD that I actually for once caught some kind of cool detail with the six arms/six legs!!! My current theory is that the Upper One is the "turned" version of that person from 300 years ago that the doll is based on. Ohhhh was Tanjiro holding the guy's child??? I thought that was supposed to be the Tanjiro guy's child??? I must be confused!! I agree on the demon theory though. LOL yeah Tanjiro got more than he bargained for! I mean, I guess it worked out since he unlocked something but yeah....he also could have died lol. I know, what's going on with the swordsmith?? Good point about Tanjiro's speech to Kotetsu. You can't let it stop you I guess. Lol he's not afraid of taking risks, that's for sure! Haha the trash talk was a LITTLE out of line :P Oh good point, maybe the sword is responsible for why the doll works that way. That's what I'm thinking, a sword has just presented itself and we just so happen to need a sword ;) Yeah maybe the Hashiras will feel the need to get involved. LOL better get going before that crow yells at you!
