Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo season 2, episode 39!!!  OMG!!!!!!!!  His leg....his....his LEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Tell me they can make him a prosthetic!!!  Now it's PERSONAL!!!!  I really, really thought this was a Caesar moment you guys, my heart can't take much more!  But I LOVE the idea of the boy he saved saving him!!!  That makes me happy cry in the best and worst way lol.  Iggy may not have been invested in this fight before, but he sure as heck is now.  And seeing our squad FINALLY make it after all they've been through....I'm so proud of them, and I believe in them!  But you guys, I'm also afraid!!!!  There's no turning back now, we just entered the lair of the final boss....Dio :/  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Honestly this has been one of my favorite episodes also the episode where Jojo goes against Darby and scared him into folding what did you think of that?

2023-05-29 18:46:31 So pardon my f-bomb, but Pet Shop is fucking scary. Like already he looks like a bird that you don't even WANT to be near in real life even if he was just a normal bird. But when Araki uses Ice powers in Jojo, they're pretty scary and kind of brutal at times. And in the Capcom Jojo game, he's one of if not THE most broken character in the game. xD His Hitbox is small, and I think he flies around so hitting him with neutral attacks on the ground is tricky or something? Plus when he gets hit be the de-aging attack, he turns into an egg with like a hole in it... Like maybe he *just* started to hatch. ...But he can use his stand. I honestly don't know how Pet Shop's trainer managed to not only train Pet Shop, but at the same time trained Pet Shop's sibling who ALSO has a stand. And how does he get rewarded? By DIO coming by to take the two Birds, and having the two birds kill off their trainer for the lulz. What an a-hole. >:c Though that tidbit right there is from the Spin-Off Manga, as well as the existence of Pet Shop's Sibling... So thankfully we won't have to deal with another Bird in the anime. But the next encounter may or may not seem a little... uh.... Familiar.

Hi Hime :) There is indeed violence on animals, but it's animal against animal, so can we say that it's national geographic with a twist (the stands)? The scene with the beggar always makes me smile, it's so absurd, especially when you see him taking off his cape and wearing a nice suit and heading towards his big car lol. I reassure you, we too are in a hurry for you to see the end of "The world", the theme song. I don't remember if there are sound effects, but I know it has a surprise in store for you. Pet Shop is of course a reference to the British duo Pet Shop Boys, who have the famous title "What Have I Done to Deserve This?", which corresponds well to Iggy's thoughts at the time. Pet Shop with its red eye that is ready to do anything to finish its mission doesn't remind you of anything? It's a real Terminator you have there, especially when you look at the very skeletal and metallic look of its stand. I knew you'd like an entire episode with Iggy as the hero. But I also knew that watching him suffer was going to be hard on you. This double episode is almost like Gaara facing Shoto in a way, or Crocodile Vs Aokiji if we put it in One Piece. Ice vs. Sand isn't a combo you easily think of. For Iggy's voice, it's Misato Fukuen, who you know is the voice of Himiko Toga in MHA, even if it's hard to recognize her here, there are times when you can hear Toga behind Iggy . I'm not going to say what exactly, but several sentences you said and fear you announced will prove to be true. So fasten your seatbelt and have the tissues ready just in case. You're still pretty safe for the next double episode, but then it might just be pain so prepare yourself well.

There's a lot happening here for sure! The Darby one was awesome, it was purely psychological and Jotaro was a total boss!!!

I agree!!!! That's the thing, I'm not scared of birds but this bird freaks me out! He's like a Pidgey from hell lol! He uses ice very well in a scary way doesn't he. Really, that's so weird about the game!! Oh wow, the second I read "second bird" I was like OH GOD NO WHAT!!! Hahah glad we don't have to deal with it in the anime....but wow, what a backstory! :O

Hi Spadeas! :) I mean, I guess you could say it's slightly more "natural" that way lol, but still hard to watch! Hahaha the scene with the beggar is really out there for sure! I can't wait to see the final fight but I'm dreading it too!!! Also that's so true about the reference, I didn't even realize it because I was so upset haha. Ohhhhh I can totally see the Terminator vibes!! I loved seeing Iggy as the hero but it was hard to see him get beat up so badly! I can totally see those similarities, you wouldn't think of this combo/pairing normally but it works! I looked it up after and saw that the VA was Toga, omg!!! I could've sworn it was Killua lol. Oh no, I'm scared that some of my fearful predictions will come to pass....!!!! Yikes, I'll brace myself!!!

Hello Melissa, Thank you for allowing the videos to be downloaded via Google Drive. You made me very happy on my 2 hour flight from Germany to Corfu (a Greek island). I'm staying in Greece for two weeks but will still follow your videos. I won't miss the weekly dose of Jojo with you despite the vacation.😉 The fight in the Pet Shop is really very brutal. From then on I really liked Iggy. Although you see a lot of brutality in these episodes, I really liked your reaction to it. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud at some scenes or crying over Iggy's apparent death with you. I don't think that would go down well with my seat neighbors🤣. I'm very happy that Kakyoin is back, though I'm not entirely comfortable with letting him around Dio. The Butler will become a challenging fight for our crew. We will watch it together. See you next week😆

Well, before I get started with this I’ll just say you have my condolences for when it comes time to edit this arc… just like Death 13. 😅 That being said most of my thoughts are comparing it to other stuff… First, the bird never talking and making a complete jerk of himself… it kinda gave me Neo vibes, although much more sinister. Also… did we just find a villain that made you wish it was Palpatine we were dealing with instead? Pet Shop is a Falcon, and it seems the reason he’s torturing Iggy is because he enjoys the hunt and the kill. He’s doing all this, not just because it’s his job… but because he’s actually enjoying it. Okay, I realized something at the end of the last episode… Iggy’s whole thing here is eerily copying both Blake and Yang from the end of Volume 3. Think about it, he used a shadow clone to make Pet Shop think his head was chopped off… and… do I really need to spell out the OTHER part for you? Speedwagon Foundation have that sort of tech yet? Also, Kakyoin’s eye scars kind of remind me of Weiss’. I wasn’t ever really worried Iggy was going to die, not after they put him through all that, and had the whole obligatory soliloquy like death scene. Although what happened to him kinda reminds me of a topic Demon Slayer has been emphasizing for a while: “whatever you do for others, ends up helping you, in the end.” That’s a little uncanny. DIO just rolled out the red carpet for our crew, I see… but making Iggy actually take it personally? Well, that might’ve been a… miscalculation… 😅 Okay there’s a little housekeeping we need to do for the next few weeks on this show. Next week is the normal two parter, so no change needed there. But the week AFTER that, the next TWO arcs are both THREE-PART episode arcs. So, with that in mind: You might want to consider doing 2-3-3-1 over the next four weeks, just so you don’t cliffhanged in the middle of an arc. Figured I’d let you know now so you have time to think it over and set up a recording schedule if you need to make any adjustments. The reason there’s a 1 at the end is because that is the final episode of the season. Anyway that’s it for me now. One question, though… Iggy separated his leg but… how’d he manage to bandage it while escaping to his underwater hideout? Only on THIS show can you ask questions like this… 🤣

I don't know if I'd go quite that far, although I've never seen Palpatine hurt a dog so....maybe :P Oh wow, I hadn't thought about it but I can totally see the Blake/Yang story vibes! Complete with losing a limb :( I can see how Kakyoin's eye scars look like Weiss'!! Yeah, it is uncanny that that theme should come back into play all in the same week, isn't it? I really got worried during the flashback scene, but I can see now there was probably no need to worry, until now that is :P Yeah, Dio just messed with the wrong dog!!! Ohhhh good call on the three parters! I'll try to move things around so I can do three 2 weeks in a row. I can't even imagine why the last one is a singular episode, it's either a huge climax or a breather from everything :O I can't believe I'll be done with Stardust Crusaders in just 4 weeks!!!!! I'm excited but also sad, I love this crew!! Oh yeah that's a good question, I guess maybe he could have used his Stand to do the bandaging, but where did he get the bandage?? Hmm!! Lol. We can chalk that one up to "it's Jojo" I guess!!! PS I'm listening to the full version of the OP now that I've added it to my library, and WOW it slaps!!!!! XD

Okay that bird was no joke. That thing was just merciless! It left Iggi no room to breathe. Seeing him come out from underground must be terrifying and with no way to go eek 😬. I almost ALMOST 👌 felt bad for it in the end. Imagine a bird without its beak, that has to be painful. But it was do or die, and it was not Iggys time. Cool lesson with Demon Slayer and here on Jojo about things coming back to you. That boy was not going to leave Iggy hanging. Awesome kid. 👍 And Kakyoin! I’m so happy. So very few episodes left with the crusaders that I was hoping he’d come back asap. Really sweet seeing them all reunited. I wish the reunion was longer but we gotta head to Dio. Very cool seeing the respect in friendship with him and Jotaro. Seeing as how they started off thats pretty nice to see. I did not think the episode before this would have lead me feeling to scared by the end. We’re finally here and that just sunk in. I’m scared. I don’t want to say goodbye to my guys. 😭

“We’re in the endgame now..” But wow! What a battle! The pet shop fight is one of my favorite fights in all of Jojo. It’s brutal but ends on such a beautiful note. Going back to your thoughts on the next part. The manga for that part was coming out in the early/mid 90s and takes place in the late 90s. I really hope that’s not too spoilery. I think you’re going to flip when you find out how the next protagonist is a Joestar hehe I never really thought that the butler at the end looked like a pillar man, but now I can’t un see it 😆 Though there might be another reason why he looks so familiar… 👀 Amazing reaction as always! Can’t wait for next week!
