Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to the JJK 0 movie!!!  First off, I wanna apologize for being fuzzy on some of the events/timeline in this one - I'm all on the same page now, thanks to doing more of my rewatch of the show!  I like Okkotsu a lot - he's very different from Yuji, so it's interesting to see how a lot of our familiar friends interact with someone with such a different personality.  The backstory was HEARTBREAKING, of course, and it was so rewarding to watch him heal and grow and figure things out.  The fight scenes were pretty amazing too, and we get to see a lot more background between Gojo and Geto here!!  So glad I checked this one out!  Now, we wait for season 2!!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hey there, I never directly watch the movie nor being a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen. I just kinda interest in it. However, my roomate once watch it while I was working, and I have a chance to take a peek at it. Somehow, an idea just coming up in my mind. What if there is a way to turned her cursed soul into a Kamen Rider? Like how Takeru was. If you can't save her, turn her into a Kamen Rider!

Hi Hime :) It's a good thing that you finally watch the movie, since it introduces you to Okkotsu, which will be important later (probably after season 2 unfortunately). But at least he won't be a stranger ^^. To clarify, besides Rika, Okkotsu's spell allows him to copy other sorcerer's spells, that's what we see at the end when he copies Inumaki, but it's something to remember for when you do. see you again because there will be a big surprise. In season 1, we talk about this incident by evoking Geto who was responsible for it, but also when we say that Todo defeated a large number of curses by himself without using his spell, during his introduction, to show his abilities. It is besides Todo who evokes Okkotsu in season 1 too, because if I remember correctly he wants to face him during the tournament between the two schools, because Okkotsu had won by himself the previous year. To finish on Okkotsu, it is mentioned in the film and in the series, the existence of three great clan of jujutsu sorcerer : - the Zenin clan of which Maki, Mai and Megumi Fushiguro belong (you will learn more about why Megumi doesn't have the same name in season 2), the Kamo clan which uses blood and one of whose members we see facing Fushiguro during the tournament (we see him in the film too by the way) - the Kamo clan who uses blood and whose heir faces Fushiguro during the tournament (we see him in the film too by the way) - The Gojo clan which has only two members, Gojo and Okkotsu It's a little spoiler since it's not said right away, but the revelation that it's just the two of them is not that important in the series and I find this fact quite funny. And then it makes things interesting to know that Okkotsu's closest family is Gojo lol. You will learn a little more about Zenin and Kamo later too. For Geto, it is widely implied that Gojo killed him at the end of the film, Gojo says it himself in season 1 that he took care of the problem, that's why they don't suspect him of being behind the events of season 1. His return and the fact that he is alive will be one of the intrigues to come. But without too many spoilers if you haven't seen a trailer for season 2, a good part of the beginning will be devoted precisely to the relationship between Geto and Gojo, so you'll learn even more than what the film reveals to you and above all, how he has changed. Since we see him say at one point that the strong should protect the weak and that Jujutsu sorcerers exist to protect those who can't, very different from what he says later in the movie. Another point to note, the weapon that Geto uses towards the end, the triple baton, doesn't you remember anything ? It's a weapon that Maki will use later in season 1, saying that she doesn't like to use it (probably because it belonged to Geto precisely). I just wanted to point that out, because I find it amusing as a reference. But in any case yes, the film is really interesting and Okkotsu is a good protagonist for this one, he has a nice evolution and has a certain resemblance to Yuji on many points, such as the fact of no longer having a family and not accepting that those he loves can die, even if it means sacrificing himself.

Hey, I think you have something in your eye - again - you’ve gotta be better about restocking the unicorn. 😂 Anyway, before I pop into thoughts I would point out that when Crunchyroll did its annual awards, this won the vote for best feature film and it wasn’t really close. Yuta is a different kind of protagonist than Yuji, I guess you could say they’re like “reflections.” They both have a strong sense of Justice, sire, but Yuji deliberately dove into this madness, while Yuta was more dragged into it against his wishes, but they’ve both found their niche at Jujutsu High. Gojo was really done with the corporate bureaucracy in jujutsu sorcery even before the series started, I see. Love might actually be a curse, when you think about it - but it’s all about the intent. Yuta never meant to curse Rika, and Rika never actually felt like she was obligated… it was just a series of unfortunate events that led to their situation. Speaking of situations, Panda, why are you acting like Todo and trying to play matchmaker? Although when you do look at their dynamic a little closer, both Maki and Yuta are kindred spirits in that they’re not here by their own choice in the first place, but electing to make the best of their situations. The dynamic between Gojo and Geto and their different philosophies reminds me very much of the dynamic between Professor X and Magneto in X-Men. I’m going to assume you know what I mean, you’ve seen enough Marvel, right? :) But while his approach to the situation is hardly ideal, he’s not far off about saying something needs to be done about how jujutsu sorcerers are treated. Maki could’ve very easily ended up like those two kids with a few different choices. The ending scene is highly implying that Yuta and Miguel are in the country of Kenya, on the east coast of Africa. Seems like we’re doing a lot of African visits in your shows lately… Anyway, I figured the post scene was something they might tie back into S2, but now that Rika is gone, what was he doing with Miguel…? and now that we are more aware of Geto, will his role expand in the story? Guess we’ll have to wait for the season to drop. PS: I’m just assuming you want to slot this into your Wednesdays for a time slot, but you won’t have anything next week (it premieres on Thursday), so might I suggest you use the extra week to get the new Slime movie done if you’re looking for something to fit into the window while you’re waiting? Something to consider, since I know it’s on your to do list. :)

Wow really nice debut for this character. And this has me thinking how different his debut was so different from Yuji and Nobara’s. Yuta’s very awesome yet he’s struggling with obvious things as a result of something horrific. But it’s handled differently from Nobara and Yuji, two very unique personalities. Yuji is strong and athletic off the bat. He was willing to go to jujutsu high with barely to no hesitation. And Maki is very harsh for having to earn her keep. Though she’s far more than incredible, we know how cruel the jujutsu world is to people with her circumstances in sorcery. With Maki, Nobara was already used to and really liked her toughness. She said respected her. We’re privy to Maki but if we had seen this prior we’d probably need time to understand why she’s a bit more abrasive on the outside, but Nobara gravitated towards that with ease. It’s just interesting to see the two expressive personalities and how they got along with the upper class man compared to Yuta. They still have to work hard but both are considered confident and natural talents. It seemed natural for Yuta too once he got his goal in mind but I like that that we got to see that drive handled with someone like Yuta as well. And I liked that they gave him a chance with the three upper class-man because we got to know them all over again and a bit more. With what Fushigoro is trying to achieve I can see why he respects Yuta. I really like his personality because he’s very meek in a way but he’s someone turning that into a strength. I found it easy to root for him since the movie started. Then he became more lovable in just the second scene. I love him already. Awesome movie. Mappa did another awesome job. 👏

Hi Spadeas! :) I'm glad I got to meet Okkotsu, glad we're gonna see him more at some point! Ohhh thanks for clarifying about the copying power! That makes sense! Yeah I rewatched the one where Todo talks about Okkotsu literally the same day as watching this, I was so frustrated I hadn't re-seen it before lol! Ohhh that is kinda funny that Gojo's clan is just him and Okkotsu, wow! Right, makes sense as to why Geto could fly under the radar in season 1. I'm excited to learn more about Geto's return and about Geto/Gojo's past! Right, what changed there! Ohhhh I didn't realize that was the same weapon that Maki used actually!!! That's a really cool reference! I can definitely see some similarities between Okkotsu and Yuji! Really excited for season 2!

That's a good point about the connection between Maki and Okkotsu actually! But Panda playing matchmaker is still so bizarre lol! OMG, I can totally see this being a Professor X / Magneto situation actually! Fun fact, I was obsessed with X-Men as a kid! So yes I know :) That's kinda what it looked like at the end there, isn't it? Lots of world traveling going on lately lol. I know, I'm curious about that too! I can't wait to know more! I agree!! Oh I know, it was quite different! Yuta's story is very dark and that's so true that the whole way of handling it is very different from Yuji and Nobara. Their personalities are very unique and their way of handling coming to the school, interacting with people, etc. was a lot different compared to Yuta. That's a great point! I know, this was a great chance to get to know our other friends even better! Yeah I totally get the respect from Fushiguro now. He's definitely rootable lol! And so loveable! They knocked it out of the park again!!!!

I actually wanted to see your reaction to the film much sooner, but since university has started again and my brother graduated from school yesterday and the prom was taking place, I didn't have the time. But your reaction did not disappoint me. The movie is super great. I actually love it more than the first season. The animation and the fights were epic. Yuta is a very lovable character and i hope to see more of him in the next season. His connection to Rika was very touching and I had to hold back my tears as they said goodbye to eachother. I also thought it was great that we learned more about Maki, Panda and Toge. Their fights were fantastic. Of course, gojo should not be missing. He is such a great character and always has the best sayings. I think in the next season we will learn a bit more about the friendship between Gojo and Geto. But I go into it just as blindly as you do. I'm really looking forward to the JJK Fridays with you.🥰

Thank you for your reply. My vacation was wonderful and if i could, i would go back to greece in a heartbeat. If you ever have the opportunity to come to Europe, I can highly recommend Greece as a holiday trip. I'm in the last year of my studies and that's why everything is particularly stressful. But that doesn't stop me from flying to Sweden for the weekend on Friday to go on a Coldplay concert. My parents gave me this for my birthday. The Gojo Plushie is already ordered, it might even be the same one you own. I look forward to it when it arrives.

OK thanks. I looked it up and according to Google there are 11 different time zones in America. That's crazy. but america is a huge continent so that's conceivable. In Europe we only have 3 time zones and even that is sometimes confusing. Germany is actually a very beautiful country with a lot of history and culture. I come from the east of Germany where everything is a bit more rural. I love living in the village where you don't even notice the problems in the city. Germany is definitely worth a trip. You don't necessarily have to be able to speak German, because many people can speak English very well.

Oh wow!! I can only think of like 4 but I'm sure there probably are even more! It really is a big continent, visiting another state can be like visiting another country depending on where it is. Germany sounds amazing! I know of so many people from different countries who have gone to school there and/or decided to live there, and just love it! Where you live sounds lovely! That's great that English is so widely spoken as well! It's definitely on my list of places I'd love to visit one day :D

I'm glad to hear that you want to come to Germany. Recommendations for cities worth seeing besides Berlin, if you are interested, would be Dresden and Leipzig (cities from my state). Unfortunately, these cities are not often visited by tourists, but in my opinion they are more worth seeing than Berlin.
