Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to Red vs. Blue season 15, episodes 11 - 14!!! Oh wow you guys, I never imagined the explanation for Temple's backstory being like that....!!!  Sheesh!  I am a little glad to see that even though the others were in on it, their personalities (like Loco's) really are their own.  Now we have to plan a big exciting escape from this underground lair, which Simmons was secretly on board with but Sarge really just wanted a war to fight no matter which side he was on lol!
And of course, the plan wouldn't be complete if it didn't involve a disembodied Lopez somehow....!!!  Great eps!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

So, if you read between the lines of her dialogue in earlier episodes, this is the second or third "second wish" that Vic has granted Dylan. She's referenced her "computer program" doing stuff several times before. There's something wrong with Vic's memory, and she's using that to her advantage to keep access to his computing abilities and avoid the moral dilemma of killing him. It's always humanized her to me. What she's doing is wrong, but she just kind of fell into it as far as we're shown. It bothers me more than I like to admit that episode 12 retcons the Blood Gulch teams into a carbon copy of the Blue and Red teams. It's like something from a bad fanfiction. "My character is called Catman, and he was protecting Gotham first." Luckily, we're about to follow Lopez on his torpedo journey, and that really gets the season back in track.

Why is drive link asking for permission to watch it?

kamenriderhime

Oh no, I accidentally set the permissions wrong! It should be working now! So sorry about that!

kamenriderhime

Ohhhhhh ok, I didn't catch that! Wow! That is kinda wrong but at the same time she probably doesn't want to kill him either. Yeah, I can see how that would be bothersome, I get it! I just take it all as a part of the goofiness, but still. I can't wait to see Lopez's journey lol!

We're so close to my favorite episodeeee!

First, since you inquired, Temple’s voice isn’t Miles Luna. He did “assist” with some of the writing this season, though. Sarge seems to be a walking caricature of classic Hollywood lines - I’m worried what would happen if he ever actually got cast. Here’s something interesting: Caboose has been very amicable towards machinery - meanwhile, Loco has the same sort of personality but he seems to have a lot of building and construction know how. Oh, and they both have the best friend complex about their leader. What do you think he’s building. Tex has a voice box here, and if you recall, when we first met her, she was using the voice filter then as well. It was only a few episodes after her introduction that Church revealed her gender to the audience. It makes sense in continuity, however it could also be that by this time her original VA had left RT on less-than-great terms. For some reason watching that epic fight play out while a British guy is reading Harry Potter just kind of hits the funny bone in a sensitive spot for me, it’s so bad it’s good. 🤣 The story with Biff you obviously can kind of see coming with the cliches - medical leave, faking an injury, new father, pregnant girlfriend, we’re just hitting them all, but the one that really hits you in the face: he was literally killed by… a DEATH FLAG. Remember, the Blues and Reds were here first: the others were based on them, the Director specifically recreated the same type of team to create an unwinnable scenario. Oh, by the way - everything Temple is saying is actually true. He doesn’t have the same context the audience does, of course, but on the other hand, it’s hypocritical to dismiss his anger toward everyone, including Carolina, while emphasizing with Doc’s plight, just because you know him better. How he’s dealing with that rage, well… that’s up for discussion. Meanwhile in typical RvB fashion nobody can do anything under the radar, even pull off a covert spy mission. Now, now, let’s not lose our heads yet. Unless you’re Lopez. Things are definitely getting fishy around here. I will say with the next batch I had to stop and consider where to cut it off for a while before settling on the end point. Oh, and also… you ain’t ready. 😉

Man I hate when shows make me understand. I’m not gonna lie Temple has a reason to be mad. That was Carolina, that was Project Freelancer! Man such a dramatic scene and that prior Harry Potter audio didn’t help at all; I always tear up reading it myself 😭. Of course I don’t condone bad guy actions but I honestly can’t say I blame him. Darn, why can’t a bad guy just be a bad guy for bad guys sakes? Poor Biff RIP. That last episode! I hate these guys so much. I truly do 🤣 And I’m not talking about the Blues and Reds here. 😂

Ohhh thanks for clearing that up, I could tell after a while, but I remembered someone saying Miles voiced someone in the group. Clearly it wasn't Temple! Omg, that would either be amazing or a train wreck or both if Sarge got cast :P That's true, Caboose has always had a bit of a way with machines hasn't he? I'm not even sure what he's building....I mean, it kinda sounds like a gateway? Yes I remember the voice box! Ohhhh that makes sense then. OMG the audio book during the fight was just the cherry on top right?! OMG HE WAS LITERALLY KILLED BY A DEATH FLAG :O I did not even put it together until now, wooooooooooowww!!! They just took all the tropes and put them in a blender didn't they! I mean, that's the thing, I do get it, and Temple is right in a technical sense. Things are definitely fishy but I'll try not to lose my head :P Poor Lopez! Wow, I'm curious about the next batch!! I'm never ready am I??? :P

I really loved seeing what happened to Biff, especially noticing the parallel to the premier with the blood, but I think the Carolina & Tex fight highlighted a little problem I’ve had with this season so far. The Freelancer Arc and Chorus Trilogy both had what felt like a perfect balance between the serious story and jokes, and this season feels like it leans a little much towards the jokes. I was honestly a little annoyed that they turned the fight into a joke by changing the music a bunch. The Harry Potter audio book was hilarious but the fight pretty much over already.

kamenriderhime

It was sad but well done right? Ohhh that's interesting, I hadn't thought about the way the balance is skewed this season. I can see that! The HP audio book was a nice touch though haha.

This is a great set of episodes. I love all the reveals we get. It’s a good thing they had Dylan to help them find out the truth even though it didn’t fully work out. We get to see more of Temple’s real personality when talking to Loco as well as the technology they are developing that is not what they said it was. I gotta say Dylan is pretty sneaky which is a good thing. I love how Sarge was distracted here mostly because of how he started mixing genres with all the one-liners faster and faster until it was almost too random to follow LOL. I’m glad Tucker actually decided to trust Dylan here because it was upsetting seeing him fall for Temple’s BS after all his character development but it’s understandable with him still being a flawed character but I still didn’t like it. Seeing that Vic was still around dark humor and all was interesting & he’s very helpful to have around. Although of course the writers would hide what he and Dylan discovered. Yeah the blues & reds start to become more obvious with how suspicious they are at this point. And unfortunately Dylan gets caught which is not that surprising with how vigilant the enemies are. I love episode 12 because of what I think is a great backstory for Temple. It’s interesting how it starts out with the past as Temple is telling his story to Dylan. And then we see that the situations there were the same or at least very similar to what the Reds & Blues got up to which was funny but uncanny to see. I like how quickly it becomes obvious that there was something different with how Temple & Biff are acting. I think their relationship is really well-written with that campfire scene making it believable/relatable. The worst part of this is how much of a good guy/friend Biff seems to be as well as what he had waiting for him as well as Temple thinking all this must have been for a good reason knowing something bad must have happened. Yeah, thinking about what Carolina was like back in that time it was easy to realize her competitive nature was going to play a part in what happened. I agree that the irony of her saying I don’t think I will ever work with Reds & Blues is great. Also of course the Director’s favorite game is capture the flag LOL. I find them explaining burying the flag & Carolina’s reaction to that really funny. She is really awesome as usual but it’s crazy seeing this contrast to what she is like now. I understand and it’s creative what they did with the fight between Carolina & Tex here having the pace of the fight match the music but it just didn’t work for me. And then we get to the really dark way Biff died thanks to the competition and lack of care by the freelancers which was brutal to see especially the 1st time. I think Temple & him being friends was something the project just missed which is why when freelancer wanted to create another stalemate scenario with the notes from this situation Simmons & Grif were not friends from the start. I like the conversation with Caboose & Loco because it’s wholesome & the whole door stuff is intriguing. Lopez being the stand in for a therapist for Red team is hilarious. I like how once the guys talk they start to realize how suspicious everything is. I love Tucker just asking out right if they are evil it’s perfect for these characters. Also Temple really likes his poetic language doesn’t he? It’s messed up that Sarge sided with them but it makes sense with the needing a mission stuff he has been talking about. I love Simmons acting here as a way to trick the bad guys. Of course Caboose would reveal the plan but I can’t be mad at him. The plan to send just Lopez’s head on a rocket to get help is hilarious as well as ingenious. Oh yeah, I love how Sarge’s reaction to being told he can’t give orders anymore is basically just “oh shit you’re right” which is amazing LOL. I agree I can understand Temple but never agree with or like him. I like the blood getting on his helmet mirroring the start of the season. Also the whole killed by a death flag thing is nuts for a writer to do. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

kamenriderhime

Yeah Dylan being here was a huge help! The sneakiness actually comes in really handy in a situation like this lol. LOL Sarge was going full speed with the one liners and it got extreme for sure haha! I know, that was a shame to see Tucker falling for it. I know, it was so nice to have Vic right! Omg I know, it drives me crazy that the writers wouldn't reveal it haha. Yeah this is where they start getting more and more sus. I actually also loved getting to see the blues and reds backstory!!! The Biff story was sooooo good and sad! The stuff with Carolina fits but is just so tough. There was so much irony to that statement right lol. Hahahaha yup capture the flag is his favorite, it figures!!! Oh I know, Carolina here is such a stark contrast to who she's become present day. The pacing/music was great but I totally get it that this wasn't for you. It really was brutal! Oh good call about how this impacted Simmons and Grif too! Caboose and Loco are so wholesome lol. Hahaha omg poor Lopez!!! OMG Temple really does love being poetic right! I knooow I was so sad about Sarge! Simmons' acting was amazing too haha. Yeah I mean it makes sense that Caboose revealed it. HAHAHHA Lopez' head on the rocket, omg!!! It fits this show so well even though it just sucks for Lopez once again lol. Hahaha yeah Sarge realizing he's not the one giving orders was great, he's like genuinely taken aback! Exactly, like it's one thing to see where Temple is coming from, and you can do that without condoning his actions. The literal death flag was something! Thank you so much for your feedback and for your support and compliments! I am SO sorry it's taken me forever to get back to you!!!!
