Hey everyone!  I'm back today with Kamen Rider Geats episode 44!!!  Oh dang guys!!!  This one hit me right in the feels!!!  I thought for sure Neon's dad was a goner, but as a matter of fact, they just all have a second chance at being a family now.  Gotta say, the full circle arc they did on this one was superb!!  I still can't believe Keiwa is trudging ahead all tunnel vision, but getting to see Beroba taken out was REALLY satisfying!!  Michinaga standing over her at the end was fantastic too.  And last but not least, our girl is BACK!!!!  And better than ever!!!!  Wow!!!  What an ep!  Can't wait to see what happens next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Fun (Dark) Fact: Official has stated that Neon's ability to moving through objects originated from the fact that she was not suppose to exist.

Neon Straight up turned into Mirio, she was phasing through walls and her attacks like nothing! and with that Neon's Final form has made it's debut, a father's wish is now the daughter's power!

2023-07-19 15:01:01 "Neon shines." You get it? 'Cuz Neon? The light? ;D Eeeeeeh? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh? ....I actually really dig this episode title. xD NGL... The dad being played by Time Fire(BTW, look up the Time Fire theme, it's pretty awesome. You know you're in for a good beat when it's like: "Time-Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire!" xD), the fact the Beroba decided to bully him, the fact that it didn't really *feel* like he popped off in the last episode, and the fact that Neon had the Fantasy Buckle in the episode preview, the fact that he *feels* bad and guilty about the bad things he's done... I mean... Neon's dad was SURROUNDED by deaths flags, wasn't he? xD Glad to see Neon pop off, though once again... Kind of wish the Buckle was a little different looking, though maybe it's just the similarities to the Ninja Buckle that gets to me. xD ....I wonder if we'll ever get the other Buckles that can be heard in the belt, but haven't shown up on screen yet. ...Though considering they're armed buckles and the show's like... What, 3-5 episodes to the conclusion? ....Well, I don't think we're going to be getting them. Ah well, more fodder for my Desire Grand Prix Campaign. ...Speaking of which, it's actually funny. I had always imagined the Beat Buckle as something that's more a 'Mage Class' kind of thing mixed with Bard abilities. So it's ironically kind of funny that Neon ended up getting the Fantasy Buckle considering she uses Beat. ...Beroba is going to do something 'funny', isn't she? D: I mean... An animal is at it's most dangerous when it's back is against the wall. ... Honestly at this point I think Keiwa needs a good ol' fanny whooping. Somebody give Kiryu from the Yakuza series a Desire Driver and an ID Core! *HE'LL* set him straight.

Hi Hime :) After our three gods of creation, Mitsume, Ace and Tsumuri, here comes our queen of fantasy who enters the game, Neon Kurama. It's funny how I said last week that I've been thinking for a while that she's the Weiss of this series, and now here she is summoning rapiers and magic circles, it reinforces that feeling even more. Now, just like Geats is a Kitsune and Tycoon is a Tanuki, Naago is a Nekomata. Some legends say that the more a cat is tortured before its transformation, the more powerful it will be as a Nekomata, the Nekomata is also known to be linked to death and take on the appearance of a deceased person, but also the fact that it have two tails. All these details correspond to our Neko Neon (not to be confused with Neon Kat from RWBY lol). Lors de son "finish" tu peux voir les deux queus derrière elle comme Ace en a neuf en temps que Kitsune. But yes, Neon's story, although a bit in the background at times, is surely one of the best elements of the series and gives us a very beautiful female Kamen Rider. For having seen some videos on instagram, you can also see that the actors interpreting the Kurama family get along rather well. I saw in particular a passage where the actor doing Kousei plays the zombie while Neon and his mother dance and strike a pose lol. You also have a lot of cute moments between the actresses of Beroba and Neon, which gives another vision of the show ^^. For Beroba precisely, her breakdown at the end facing the mirror could be decisive, not only does she taste her own medicine, but she finds herself in the same situation as she caused for Ziin and Kyuun. She was responsible for Ziin's despair when Ace nearly died in front of his eyes, which sparked a spark of humanity in him. Also responsible for the despair of Neon and Kyuun which pushed him to finally open his heart to Neon. So the mirror is not just for her to see her reflection, but also the fact that she finds herself on the other side of the mirror of despair. Which brings me to a question, is this going to cause a change in her too ? A spark of humanity that would make one less ally for the camp opposed to Geats ? I know that Beroba is a character that was written to be hated, even if she has these cute sides sometimes, so a last minute change, I personally wouldn't mind. Maybe she can give her premium card to Michinaga after all.

“I don’t have any tissues on hand…” Me: “We’ve talked about this. Have you learned NOTHING?” 👀 Okay, anyway we already pretty much went through the whole Neon and her parents analyzation last week, this just kind of confirmed what we already knew about them discovering they did actually care. Btw, I do think after watching Kamen Rider with you for a little while. I’ve picked up on something: a death on the show has to be really in your face for it to stick. We’ve blown up and bartered a lot of people (including this episode) but it doesn’t seem like fatalities on the show happen too often, so I never got too worried about Kousei (Neon’s father). His head is gonna hurt like heck tomorrow morning though…! Neon has finally found what she’s been searching for, meanwhile Keiwa has lost it. He HAD it, and it was taken from him. It’s gotten to the point he’s a broken shell of who he once was. His current arc is kind of a play on the whole superhero trope of fighting to save everyone - but at great personal cost. See, he WAS doing that - but the cost became too great for him to bear. It’s like he said, what’s the point of everyone else’s happiness if his own life is miserable? Michinaga probably gets it better than most people. But he’s also the last guy to barge in and accuse him of messing up everything after all he’s been responsible for herself. I think on some level Keiwa knows he’s being used as a tool (there’s that trigger word) but he doesn’t really care, he’s lost everything and is just kind of in a zombie like mentality as far as pushing toward his goal. I don’t think Geats is going to be able to convince him, I think it’s going to have to be a combination of Michinaga and Neon - because both of them kind of understand the gap. Also, Neon might be the only person he’ll reasonably lend an ear to at the moment. It’s funny how the quote that kept being used on Neon’s end applies to him: “people without happiness, lose the ability to love, don’t they?” And right now, that’s exactly where he is - he’s got a huge hole in his heart and it’s turned him into… well, this. Now speaking of Neon, it was pointed out Beroba was specifically targeting her. At first glance it might be for the kidnapping setup, but what if there’s more to it? Also, did you catch her new form apparently has the ability to fade in and out of matter? There were several points where she could dissolve her corporeal form. Now I want to know if she can turn invisible on top of this. Oh, and Beroba did finally get a taste of her own medicine. She didn’t seem to like being the receiver rather than the giver. And having Michinaga rub salt in the wound, is just kind of the frosting on top of the cake. Where do we go from here? Well, definitely have to deal with the Keiwa issue… then we can talk about the other stuff. Maybe he’s more likely to listen if we bring soba? 🤔

Something worrying is that Keiwa refers to Neon as Naago, which creates that disconnection between the bond they have nurtured together.

kamenriderhime

Hahaha she totally did!!! Ahhhh her final form is awesome and the reasoning behind it gives me so many feels <333

kamenriderhime

Ahhhhhh I see what they did there!!!!!!! XD XD XD I need to look up that theme, I don't know anything about TimeFire, but it sounds like it would be, well, fire :D Seriously, this dude was just RIPPING through death flags left and right!!! I'm honestly shocked he lived haha. Neon popping off was so sweet!! That's true, it is similar to the Ninja Buckle! Good point about possible toy variations though. This must give you some awesome fodder for the campaign! Hope it's coming along well! That makes sense about the Beat Buckle being something Bard-ish....so yeah, that does make it kind of ironic that she ended up with the Fantasy Buckle! Ugh, Beroba!!! I'm so done lol. Hahahahah that's one possibility for Keiwa!!! I felt bad at first but I feel like he's gone way too far now!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Yes, she's the queen!!!!!!!! Omg, she totally is Weiss right! Whoa, that's really interested about the Nekomata concept. That mythology REALLY fits here, whoa! So interesting about the two tails! That's so cute about the actors getting along well too! So true, Beroba's scene was so poignant! Her getting to that despair literally mirrored back at her was intense. Well, who knows - maybe it will spark some change! I'd be down for a redemption story. That'd be a pretty wild twist if she ended up on our side!!!

Spadeas

Just to show you a bit of the behind the scene with the actors I told you about : https://www.instagram.com/p/CuvaexGy--J https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cux6JV-r--f And maybe they're enemies in the show, but behind the camera, Neon and Beroba are cute together hehe https://www.instagram.com/p/CudOJRbS_Pn/

kamenriderhime

Hahahah I should totally know better by now, right! That's a good point about Kamen Rider deaths, sounds like you're catching on to the format! That's so sad, Neon gained that family, and Keiwa lost it. :( Ugh, it's really sad to see Keiwa go from fighting for everyone to fighting against everyone because of his misery. I totally get it on one hand, but it just doesn't feel like him at all! They've really pushed him past the breaking point. Michinaga can definitely relate, but I give him credit for not having the nerve to judge either. Ahhh the infamous Zero One trigger word :/ I think you're right - he's somewhat aware, and just doesn't care. A combo of Michinaga and Neon's influences could totally work. Oof, that quote resonates quite a bit for Keiwa's situation! Ohhh I thought it was just for the kidnapping, but hmm...!! OMG yes, I love that she can go through things now! Invisibility would be an interesting possibility! Yeah Michinaga getting the chance to gloat was pretty ironic I think, and it was great to see Beroba finally getting to see how it feels to be on the other end of that misery she's been causing everyone else. Ugh, the Keiwa issue! LOL we might be past the point of soba now :O

Manny

Very beautiful family moments here! I’m so happy and that Neon’s dad made it out as well. That’s something you hold off on in the last few minutes of an episode, not the first five minutes! I had to contain myself till it finished. 🥲

I return to watch this and the former episode, because I need some inspiration for my hobby novel. In my novel episode, there are 4 main important characters: The hero, the heroine A, the heroine B, and the heroine A's father. There is a serial kidnapping in the town which leave behind no trace that is suspected to happen by the hand of a culprit with a certain monster from mythology power, a Hobgoblin (a monster kind for my story, like Jyamato for Geats and Dopant for W). While the hero is investigating this case, heroine B who is his childhood friend and former classmate, was kidnapped. More to that, the suspect for the case is heroine A's father since he's the only presenting there. While the hero is in shock, the heroine A also can not believe that those cases are cause by her father, since the father was a kind of overprotective father who wish for his daughter well-being and happiness, to the point that he was trying to force his thought of moving to other city so her daughter won't run into any monster. (The issue is cleared, and girl A still staying in that city). A won't believe that a father like him would take the daughter of other family from them. So, even though she have no power to fight the monsters, she decide to team up with the hero. They found out that there is a pattern in every victim, and girl A is having a high chance of becoming the next target, so she make herself a bait to let herself get kidnapped to let the hero find out what happen and come to rescue the others. The point is, after girl A get kidnapped, the police officer at the detention center that put girl A's father in detention realize that the same case is happened while the suspect was in his cell, and the victim is suspect's daughter, they suddenly release the father. And that lead the father to the battlefield, to use the same kind of power that the Hobgoblin are infused with, to become the same kind of monster that roaming around the city, to take a revenge on the culprit who take his precious daughter! Notice the similarity? That's why I went back to watch these 2 episodes to give me some inspirations. To see Gya-go's action and infused it in my character! Come to think of it, I think I never mentioned this. Even though both Gya-go and Na-go use the same Fantasy buckle, their mouth cover are not in the same patter. Normally, the same buckle will give you the same piece of armor, like Geats' Zombie form also has Buffa's Zombie form mouth cover. However, that's not the case for this one. While Gya-go got wild looking fangs, Na-go get cutey fang instead. I don't know why. And the most important thing, when Na-go performing her finisher, there're aura making Na-go's 2 tails. A cat with 2 tails, that resemble one of the most famous Japanese's youkai, the Nekomata. Nekomata are a kind of cat yōkai described in Japanese folklore, classical kaidan, essays, etc. There are two very different types: those that live in the mountains and domestic cats that have grown old and transformed into yōkai. It's a ghost who doesn't let anyone look down on it. If anyone treats it badly, it will be fondly remembered. It is believed that the Nekomata dance can control the dead. It is also believed that Nekomata are the cause of the unusual fires. Therefore, there is some belief in cutting off the tail of a cat. To prevent it from becoming a nekomata. Nekomata's Tale Varies according to each area. Some believe that nekomata will even eat their own master. And leaving a cat with a corpse is very risky. because it might bring the corpse back to life and control the corpse. But at the same time, there is also a story that tells of a nekomata who fell in love with his master, and transform into a beautiful woman to live with. That's a late fun fact for the episode. See you later!

kamenriderhime

Oh wow!!! Your novel sounds amazing!!! Good luck with it! Kamen Rider is a great place to find inspiration! That's so interesting about the buckle too, I don't think you'd mentioned that before! OMG the Nekomata lore makes SO much sense with Neon's character, whoa!!! Thank you so much for the info!
