Hey everyone! I'm back with season 2, episode 12 of Legend of Vox Machina!  WOW!!!!!!!!!!  Even from the start we were kicking things off in a big way, with Scanlan's absolutely adorable dream of being a grandpa, omg :)))))))  I liked seeing Scanlan get to show his true colors here...with a little push in the right direction from his friends of course.  He really proved he wasn't a coward, and in the most boss way possible - taking Umbrasyl right the heck out!!!!!!!  We still have other dragons, including Thordak, to worry about now....but did we just discover an unlikely ally?
That last scene was so chilling and just left me wanting more!!!  I can't wait for season 3!!!  And I really loved this season!  Great ep/season - enjoy!  ~ MH

An interesting titbit: The twin bond between Vex and Vax was shown off last season with Vex knowing Vax was in danger. But in this episode Vex calls out that she doesn't feel if Vax is in danger. The only thing different is that the Matron cut a strand between them in Episode 4 of Season 2.

Hi Hime :) Now I can say again what I said on Sunday, it's a final fantASStic that's gonna leave you hungry for more, you understand now ;) Everyone is afraid of death, but death is often represented as just a passage and not an end point to life, but a culmination that makes life so beautiful, the matron of Ravens is a symbol of that here too. I saw many reactors being afraid of the matron of Raven, but being relieved after this episode, since she explains that Vax's role is that of a guide, supposed to direct the souls of the deceased towards what comes after, nothing too dark for Vax in the end. Besides, I already talked about Aliciaxlife, she reacted to Vox Machina too and she said several times to be bisexual, as much to say that she was ready to take Vax's place alongside the matron of Ravens lol . I'm not going to criticize her, as a raven and pretty design lover, the matron of Ravens is rather pleasant to look at in her two forms ^^. Speaking of rather eye-pleasing design, Vax with its pair of wings is also eye candy. I really like this finale, which even if it does not eliminate the threat of Thordak, leaves Vox Machina with a great victory and a path on which to advance with more assurance and certainty than before. We have a close-knit group, who know who they are and what they have to do, even if they can still progress, we have a group capable of keeping this promise to protect Tal'Dorei. Funny detail is that the "next up" thumbnail that is presented at the end of your episode, is for the movie Shin Masked Rider (Shin Kamen Rider), even amazon prime knows you lol. The film lasts two hours and is a reinterpretation of the first Kamen Rider series seen by Hideaki Anno (the creator of Evangelion). It's a very good film with some imaginative combat sequences and I recommend it, all like his Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman.

So Scanlan has dreams of a long life with Pike, does he? I get the feeling there’s gonna be a few bumps and bruises before we get that far… also, he’s going to have to prove to Kaylie that he’s worth keeping around - up until now he had no idea. I’m terrible for thinking this, but when Keyleth took off to transport everyone and Vax got wings I could only think of the following phrase: “I turn into a birrrrrrd!!!! I TURN INTO A BIRRRRRD!” Umbrasyl might have been felled, but it took all of Vox Machina, PLUS help AND three Vestiges. So just imagine if he’s lower on the food chain - what are the others like? Also it wasn’t dwelled on, but Ripley’s seems to have escaped, so there’s still THAT to deal with. My theory on why Vex didn’t sense the other dragon five feet from her is possibly because her “sixth sense” is attuned to dragons with hostile intentions? I’m not gonna say that was all warm and fuzzy, but at least it wasn’t explosive. Thordak keeps talking about “the emergence.” Then he’s got eggs everywhere. So three dragons wasn’t enough of a problem… good thing we might have SOME insight into “The Cinder King?” There are so many puns I can play with here. But I don’t think we have to worry about Season 3 having anything to continue… “Do you believe in… DESTINY?” 🙃

Damn so close— Keyleth and Vax are definitely going to end up together. It’s inevitable. There goes another man crush of mine out the window. But know what I guess if it’s someone as pure and decent as Keyleth I don’t mind. 🥲 Vax definitely looked beautiful with those wings. 😭 I’m wondering if that’s what that bird is at the beginning of the theme. 🤔 Scanland you scallawag you had me! I need Scanland in this show. He’s the only one I can count on to ease the stress even in his own drama. He’s the man! I love the friendship displayed between him and Vax. Both really leaned into one another’s disposition. I was a bit iffy on Vax here because of his new outlook on the Matron and life. I was thinking of the opposition to live to fight another day. I felt like new champion Vax really wanted to live up to the position, while old Vax would have opted to recon like the rest. However that tug of war between the two gave more meaning to Scanlan’s “I may not believe but you do and I believe in you” quote. It gave understanding reassurance to both. That was great. Okay you were so right at the beginning. They are going to stretch this campaign out but not just with Thordax. 🥚 At the star of the season I mentioned how I liked that they didn’t just make these dragons big and boorish; them coming together and dictating when they generally didn’t like each other made them a huge force to be reckoned with, which added more to that usual big titan reigns we see in shows. Then I rescinded those thoughts when we thought Thordax was being greedy with the treasure, making it a downfall. Now here we are again! A new even more fleshed out layer to that primary thought. They’re really not just strength, they’re thinking long term. I’m impressed by that. I give Thordax props. But yeah this is bad. Great season and I can’t wait for more. But I also need the time to recover from all that intense craziness. 🐉

Hi Spadeas! :) Hahahahaha I get it now! That's so true, I love that they presented the concept of death that way and that the whole Matron thing turned out to be more positive than negative I guess. I was definitely relieved! Omg I LOVE Aliciaxlife!!! The Matron is quite beautiful actually! So is Vax with wings!!! I guess they gave us a lot of eye candy in this one for sure hehe. Very true, while we didn't wrap up the whole campaign, we did come to a lot of resolution for our crew! They're stronger than ever! Ohhhh isn't that funny about the "next up", I noticed that when I was syncing the files!!! It knows me all too well! I'd love to see Shin Kamen Rider!!! It sounds amazing, I've been meaning to check it out for a while!

Well, I'm sure it will be a somewhat rocky road, but, yeah, he's got a ways to go first before he gets to that sweet grandpa fantasy! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA omg the I turn into a bird thing, I'm dying!!! That's the thing, Umbrasyl wasn't even close to being the final boss! Oh that could be about the dragon sense. It's one explanation anyway! Omg the eggs, as if we needed more problems!! LOL there's a lot you could do with that one huh! Yeah they've got plenty of fodder for season 3!!! OMG!!! It fits so well here!!

Oh yeah, I have a feeling they're definitely gonna get together! Awww well at least it's someone you approve of!! Wasn't he majestic!!! Ohhhhh good call about the bird in the theme, I hadn't even thought of that! LOL I know, Scanlan is amazing! Yeah I could see the change in position being because of wanting to live up to the new role, and it did work as a conflict/resolution opportunity for him and Scanlan too! OMG yeah they're stretching it out alright, and it looks like we'll have a lot more to worry about than just Thordax! Yeah they went back and forth with those concepts with the dragons, but I agree! Showing that there actually was a long-term plan all along really adds to it, and makes a whole lot more trouble for our crew! Oh yeah, we'll have some time to prep for more craziness now, but I'm looking forward to more too!!! XD

So I think this fight is pretty accurate to the campaign, Umbrasyl escaped after the ambush with Grog’s herd, with Grog hanging on by his axe, Umbrasyl escapes to his lair and everyone chases after him while drained on resources to prevent him from having enough time to heal fully. Though in the campaign it was Grog that killed him, but I really like they gave it to Scanlan here, the animation for that slash through was crazy! I’m guessing they’ll wrap up this arc next season. Now that they’ve firmly established the Vestiges and the Conclave I suspect they might be able to squeeze the remaining dragons into one season, but who knows they might take it in a different direction and there’s a good chunk of time between slaying Umbrasyl and the next dragon in the campaign. Can’t wait regardless, there’s so much great stuff in this arc on top of what we’ve already gotten.

Oh nice! Yeah it was a good call to give it to Scanlan I think! The animation killed it, no pun intended haha. That makes sense that they'll wrap up this arc next season, but if they decide to stretch it out, I'm sure they'll do it in an interesting way! I can't wait either!!!
