Hey everyone!  Here I am with Jojo Part 4, episode 17!!!  WHOA!!!!!  This ep was freaking amazing!!  Our last little bit of dog violence was tough to get through, but that just makes me want Reimi and Arnold avenged even more!!!  I absolutely adore Reimi - her style, her story, etc.!
You guys, we HAVE to help her!!!  And oh dang, this was way more linked to Rohan than I thought!!!  Love that we got an ep focused on him a bit more too!  And we also got to meet the person behind all the HAND-ywork of Morioh.....Kira!!!  Stand or not, like we have to stop this guy right?!!?!  I'm almost hoping he does have a Stand now lol.  Also, I know what Buffy's and my Halloween costume is gonna be this year, squeeee!!!  Great ep!  Can't wait for more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

I apologize for forgetting to mention about Arnold since that poor pupper has a sliced neck... But he's also a ghost and not exactly bothered by it so... I didn't know how to warn you about it, or if I needed to. ...However I can assure you, nothing bad will happen to Arnold past his death. He's a good pupper. ...Also he's named after Arnold Layne (A Pink Floyd Song), though I would've guessed Arnold Schwarzenegger. xD ...But I'm getting ahead of myself because let's talk about the Rat Episode, because FINALLY... We get to see a stand user that WASN'T made by Okuyasu's brother. xD Or rather two of them! So let's see... The final score of stand users made by RHCP vs Okuyasu's Brother is 2 to 8. xD Honestly I think this is one of my favorite episodes since it's nice to see the differences between Jotaro and Josuke with how they handle things, not to mention that awesome sniper battle at the end. I think the saddest thing about the episode for me was the one thing that wasn't brought over from the manga, because I feel like it's a character trait that doesn't get mentioned much, but kind of makes sense. Josuke makes a fuss over his shoes and his designer socks, so he's actually kind of into fashion.. And it's why he cries. xD Bug-Eaten and Not Bug-Eaten might sound like band references, but they are not. ...However their stand, Ratt, is named after an American Glam Rock Band of the same name. ...It's honestly one of the gnarliest stands effects I've seen, though there's one in Part 6 that STILL makes me scream out anytime I see it. ...But while this was a good character episode, Rohan Kishibe's Adventure was a good world building episode as well as introducing Arnold(whom I spoke about), and Reimi. Her name is apparently a play on 'See Emily Play' by Pink Floyd, though I'm guessing it'd make more sense if I understand Japanese. Her ghost story itself shares similarities with an Urban Legend called 'The Licked Hand' in which a girl and her dog suffers a similar fate. I'll say this about the Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe OVAs... They're more like this in tone, since it's not Stand Users Rohan encounters. ...Honestly I'd be scared to find out what kind of Urban Legends are in the Jojo World, and which ones are true. D: 'Cuz if there's Vampires, Zombies, Stand Users, and Ghosts in this world... Well, I don't wanna know what other kind of spooky stuff could be out there. xD Reimi had a voice in All-Star-Battle, but she serves a guide for the menu. ...Or as a Stage Finisher, where in the Morioh stage you end up in that alleyway and end up getting grabbed by those hands. xD Her voice actress in All-Star Battle was Ryō Hirohashi, who voiced Tails(And two Chao) in the Sonic series, Mineta from My Hero Academia, and she voices Luna in the Sailor Moon Crystal series. o: As for her anime voice actress, it's Sayuri Hara...Who coincidentally ALSO voices Luna(In Konosuba) and Chiaki Ogaki from Laid-Back Camp. ...Though I have to say, Araki twisted the knife by having the killer drive by without the Protags even knowing. xD He may look like Bowie, but inside... well... Have you ever seen American Pyscho? Because well, let's just say you might not want to hear his opinion on Huey Lewis and the News. D: ... So his voice actor in All-Star Battle was Rikiya Koyama, who actually *did* voice someone in a Jojo game. He was William A Zeppeli for the Part 1 game that came out in the 2000s to be released alongside a Phantom Blood movie, which have been pretty much buried by the studio for one reason or another. Apparently he reprised the role for that Phantom Blood movie. In the anime he was voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa who voiced Ichigo's Dad in Bleach, Naruto's Dad in Naruto, Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7 media, and well... In All-Star Battle he DID have a voice, but not as this guy. No, no... He voiced the Big Bad of Part 5. To think that now he has to voice this completely, TOTALLY normal man living a normal, boring life. xD

Also all the severed hand scenes you've seen in the anime up until this episode? I think most of them are anime only scenes to help build up this guy's presence in the background. OH... I almost forgot I can talk about this now... But there's a Live Action Part 4 that had been made in Japan. They only got as far as the encounter with Okuyasu and his family since they were planning on making more, but they were nevermaid. Red Hot Chili Peppers wasn't Okuyasu's killer in the movie, but he was replaced with... Someone else. ...Gee, I wonder who could've replaced him? :P It wasn't Angelo because he's taken care of...

Hi Hime :) We can say of the first episode that it was rather mice no :wink wink: Another "rule" broken here, since we had established that each stand was unique and associated with its handler, but here we have two rats with the same type of stand, and not in a Jotaro/Dio way this time. The stand is simply called Ratt, after the Heavy Metal band Ratt. Josuke who has a wandering mind about ball-shaped objects, do you remember his father's weapon, Joseph, in part two? Two steel ball bound together, the clacker volley ^^. Which brings me to a bit of history about me, many years ago, even before the anime was announced, I started reading Jojo and there are two passages that stand out to me. looked familiar. I had read them without knowing that it was Jojo at random from my readings in stores and bookstores. One of the passages was precisely Joseph facing Wamuu with his clacker volley. The other passage is precisely the meeting between Rohan and Koichi with Reimi and Arnold. I must have been a little over ten years old at the time, but in other words, it had left its mark on my memory. Reimi's story is based on an urban legend dating from 1982, "the licked hand", which appeared in different versions in other works such as Death Screams, Campfire Tales or even... Urban Legends, even Supernatural has a variation of this story. But I first heard it from a cousin or one of my big brothers who was trying to scare us with friends. He had probably seen it in one of the movies mentioned above. I don't really consider Arnold to be dog torture since, as you say, he's already dead. So for me it goes a little better than the other dogs killed in the series. In addition, Arnold seems to be a happy dog with his mistress despite his cut throat ^^'. But I'll say it again, Reimi is one of Araki's cutest female characters. Like I said Kira, physically based on David Bowie and next to Dio, is one of Jojo's most memorable villains, so get ready. Some even prefer him to Dio. Kira has been in the background, mixed with the crowd, in several episodes, now when you go to see them again, you're going to be in “where's Kira?” mode. Detail too, his name is of course made to evoke the word "killer" in Japanese, it is after all this name that Light Yagami uses in Death Note. He is also at the heart of several memes, but I will talk about it when the time comes. Since I was talking about Death Note, the next episodes will introduce the character of Shigechi, who is voiced by the great Kappei Yamaguchi, known for his roles as Inuyasha, Ussop or even L from Death Note.

We finally met the main villian for Part 4 Yoshikage Kira🥳🤩 Not the type of villain you'd expect in Jojo. I mean we've had so far a super evil vampire who could stop time and an ancient being who has become a god. In comparison, a serial killer who has a disturbing hand fetish (and we don't know if he has a stand) looks quite normal. But it is this normality that allows Kira to remain undetected for over 15 years. As others have mentioned, Kira is a reference to David Bowie. Now that you know it, the similarity is definitely noticeable. In general, I love this episode. Any episode that includes Rohan can only be great. The whole story about Rohan, Reimi and Arnold touches me every time. For Rohan the experience must have been so traumatic that he has completely forgotten about this trauma. I'm glad that Koichi is trying to rebuild a bond between these two, because he knows exactly what Rohan is like as a human being. This episode made me even more attached to Rohan. I'm really a huge fan of him and I'm also wearing his earrings especially for todays reaction. I think we will have a lot of fun with him. About today's fanart. At first I was planning to introduce a more wholesome comic, but then I remembered that the artist of the Joseph comic has drawn a comic series about the death story of Reimi. And since it fits great to this episode I decided to present it. The comic is divided into five parts. I can't share the last part yet, because it unfortunately contains spoilers about Kira's backstory. But I'll come back to that later. Ohhh so THAT’s what you meant about the Halloween costume. You wanted to see more Rohan, I guess the show heard you - but in terms of “dealing with all sorts of weird crap,” as you said, isn’t that just kinda where the series lives? Reiki did say Rohan was going to be unlucky because he was selfish… and Koichi knows she’s telling the truth… also while Heaven’s Door is useful, it’s pretty invasive - I don’t think I’d be happy with that kind of info being shared unwillingly. Overall the vibe I’m picking up is you can kind of predict Rohan to do what’s best for Rohan. Also, maybe it’s time to draw a manga murder mystery and get the buzz going? Now that it’s been revealed that Reimi and Rohan knew each other, it explains her little nickname for him - but the fact he’s grown up might be why she didn’t recognize him. Also, could it be the pathway opened because of the personal connection? Something tells me this is gonna be an overall thread. I’m pretty sure the original hand thing was this guy and Angelo was a red herring to throw us off. The story is like, hey, remember this info dump from earlier? It also previously mentioned the rate of child disappearances and how high they were. Is this CSI: Morioh, Supernatural or something else? 😂 Also, just because it’s not apparently a Stand user… can we tell the others we don’t know that it’s not NOT a Stand user as a loophole? “There’s no way we’re just going to run into the killer just like hailing a taxi.” Ten seconds later… I see you, show. And we know how this author likes to make culture references. The plaque on the guy’s house says Kira. Come on. IS THAT A DEATH NOTE REFERENCE STARING US DIRECTLY IN THE FACE? 👀

Wow I was expecting a fun/weird one time episode with Koichi and Rohan but for it to link Rohan and the town was pretty interestingly cool. It definitely had its beautiful moments. She has a sweet character design. And it’s really nice seeing someone with such admirable intentions and love for her town wanting to protect the people in it. A lot of characters really do love Morioh, it’s sweet. Still very disturbing ending though 😳

Omg!!!! I know, this definitely is a very different vibe, but I'm really intrigued! It makes total sense though, he's the perfect villain for this particular era of Jojo that we're in. I love the David Bowie reference and I can totally see it now! I know, I was soooo happy to get another Rohan ep!! Ohhhhhh you have the earrings??? So cool!!! I need to get them too, I think I'm gonna place another order for Jojo merch today haha. OMG, I'm so glad you brought up the clackers!!!! It's the first thing I thought of and I almost said something but didn't, now I regret it lol. Oh wow, that's such a great story about your first experience with Jojo manga!!! I've heard of that urban legend, this was such a great homage to it! I can see how it left a big impression on you. Right, it's not quite as blatant with Arnold as with the other dogs, even if it's still hard to see....but he is such a happy pupper even in death!!! Reimi is ADORABLE!!! Yes!!! I figured I'd make a little red bandana for Buffy.....it's morbid, I know, but still :P Hahaha weird crap is where this series has always lived, I'm not sure why it surprises me anymore! Yeah it makes sense now as to why Reimi seemed to know Rohan that personally. OMG my absolute nightmare is someone seeing my innermost thoughts like that! But Angelo wasn't as clever as Kira, he got caught a lot more easily. Hahahha omg this is turning into the best CSI, Supernatural, Stand by Me, It combo I've ever seen and I am pumped for it!!! That's the thing, like how we can not investigate since we aren't sure it's not a Stand user yet??? Seems like sound logic to me....! I can't speak for the quality since I haven't seen it, but apparently people like the director a lot so it's probably pretty decent at the very least? I've only seen the Phoenix Wright movie the director made(which I think has Kamen Rider Drive's actor as the main character? I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've seen it). I remember the movie being okay though. Though honestly starting at Part 4 might have been asking a little too much from casual theater goers, because there's just so much lore you gotta catch yourself on that the movie *will not* have the time to properly explain. ...Also I keep forgetting to talk about the new OP, but I'll save it for when I can talk about a certain aspect of the lyrics. It just snuck up on me so fast. xD

Honestly Part 5 would have been better to make a movie series out of. There's only a few connections it has to the other parts of Jojo, and that honestly doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Reaalllyyy!!!! Interesting! I'm constantly crunching numbers in my head trying to come up with new Jojo's lol so you can imagine that my wheels are really spinning about what Part 5 could possibly be. But anyway, that sounds like it would have been a good choice for a standalone movie!!

Finally caught up! Lol Rohan is pretty great! A little much sometimes, but still amazing! There’s a spin-off manga called Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan that’s drawn and written by Araki. It’s a series of short stories that are centered on Rohan. Some of the stories have been adapted into episodes of an anime. I believe there’s a live action movie adaptation too! Those might be worth checking out once we’re caught up with the main series! But we finally meet Kira! One of my favorite villains in the entire series. I have a feeling you’ll be horrified but super intrigued by him hahaha (that pretty much sums up the series as a whole XD) Amazing reaction as always!!

Yay!!! He's pretty awesome!!! Ahhhhh I'm dying to see/read that! I'll probably react to either the anime or movie (or both if you guys want, I'm down!) and then read the manga. Once I'm caught up and/or once it's safe for me to see it! Oh wow, Kira sounds interesting for sure!! I wanna see the movie! Oh I meant the Rohan spinoff, if there's an anime adaption, I'll go ahead and react to that so we can all watch it together....then I can always read the manga later just on my own time! I'm dying for more, I just did my reaction for the next 3 Jojo eps and let me tell you, I'm always so tempted to just keep the camera going and watch more lol!!!! I'm having too much fun XD

Oh okay! Gotcha! Yes! I think that’s a good way to go! Ohhh there’s also a live action movie adaptation of Diamond is unbreakable. I have not watched it and I’m not sure if the movie covers the entire part. But it might be looking into as well! Hahahaha that’s always the case!
