Time to Pick a Show!! (Patreon)

Hey everyone!  Ahsoka just wrapped up, so here's a poll for a new show!  I'm doing things a little differently this time and here's why: I've really really wanted to see these shows for a while now,  so it's just a matter of choosing which one I watch first!  I know I usually get recommendations first but these seem to be ones I'm hearing quite a bit about!  :)  Thank you in advance for your input - whatever you choose, I'll start filming this week, woohoo!!  Happy Weekend!!  ~ MH

I haven't finished Oshi No Ko yet so I couldn't recomand it yet and even if I read Vinland Saga, I didn't really get hooked. Chainsaw Man in other hand, to prepare for the anime, I started the manga, and binge read it in 3 days... I could say like many that it's a different shonen because it's a bit more violent, but being from the generation that grew up with Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya, who adores Jojo and the work of Go Nagai (Devilman, Cutie Honey , Mazinger...), I would rather say that it is a shonen which pays homage to those who were there before him. And then, since you're watching season 2 of Jujutsu and the "style" is quite close, you're already in tune. On the other hand, prepare yourself, twelve episodes, twelve different endings, your playlist will grow even more

Hey!! I know, I noticed that too! I'm gonna try to get it more organized for the new system. For now, I think you should be able to see the "tags" for all the shows if you go to "Collections". It will say there are no collections but the tags should show up right underneath!! From there you can click a show you want to see and see all the videos that are tagged with that title :) Hope that helps!!!

Yeah Vinland Saga (especially season 2) really isn’t the kind of show that wins polls like this. Season 2 is probably one of my favorite seasons of television ever made but it’s like going to a Michael Bay fan group and putting on a Terrence Malick film.

As much as I LOVE Oshi No Ko, Chainsaw Man is faster paced and I think you and your Patreon/YouTube audiences will get more out of it more quickly. I do think you should pick up Oshi No Ko eventually but just be aware that Ep.1 is basically a movie unto itself that sets everything up for what comes after. It's a doozy, and the music is FIRE. But Chainsaw Man feels like a good speed-run you can bang out quickly.

Oshi No Ko OBVIOUSLY because it’s probably going to win anime of the year 😉 - I will say IF this does win, I’ll remind you to film the first episode as a stand-alone, as it’s basically 80-90m in length. I’m not gonna say anything about the plot, why would I spoil the fun? However, technical info is following: 👇 Regarding where and how to watch: The show, along with several other anime, is exclusive to the HiDive platform. If you’re signing up to use it, you’ll want to set your default language on the profile as “Japanese” or it will force play the English language dub version by default if it exists . Also, the subtitles may need to be manually turned on each episode, and the platform doesn’t seem to automatically queue up the next episode once you’ve finished one , you’ll need to be extra careful to double-check which one you’re starting. (It’s a new platform they have a lot of kinks to work out.)

Fair warning, the gore & violence in Chainsaw Man is INTENSE but it's also really slapstick funny which lightens the mood....plus you've seen Jujutsu Kaisen and if you can handle that you can handle Chainsaw Man.

My choice, of course, fell on Vinland Saga S2, as it is anime of the year for me and has catapulted Vinland Saga onto number 1 of my favorite anime. But when I saw which anime VS had to compete against, I knew immediately that VS would not be number 1. Don't get me wrong. I've seen CSM and Oshi no ko and thought they were both great anime (both 8/10 for me). Oshi no ko even deals with more serious themes the way VS does, which I really liked. It's just that the anime doesn't come close to VS. Still, I look forward to your reactions to CSM and Oshi no ko and since they are very short anime (11-12 episodes) I don't have to wait that long for VS. As we all know, being patient pays off.

I doubt vinland saga S2 will win this poll, but I really hope you pick it up at some point soon! It's such an amazing story and it would be a shame if you missed out on it.

I know!!! I do wanna come back to it at some point, it sounds like a fantastic season and like it's even better than the first one (which I really enjoyed). Oshi no Ko sounds unique from what I hear, too. I hope you'll enjoy my Chainsaw Man reactions, it looks like that's the one that's winning!!! Thanks for your patience!!! ^_^

I really wanna see it at some point! It fell between the cracks for me a bit when it came out but I'm hoping to revisit it soon!
