Hey everyone!  I'm back with Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, episode 13!  WHAT?!  What just happened, omg!!!  That fight was amazing!!!  Dang, they both really brought it!  So happy Mechamaru could help Yuji out, but shoot.....what on earth happened to Yuji?!  Like he's alive, but what is going on?!
Those girls at the end, are they who I thought they were?  And why on earth did those memories flash like that?!?!!?  I'm impressed, excited, and confused all at the same time lol!  What an intense ep!  Can't wait for more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

This episode was crazy good. The fight scene was a whole new level of awesome.

I’ve mentioned the complexities of this show’s plot before, but this episode felt a little more straightforward - that being said, I do think, considering how some of the plot elements haven’t been present this season, JJK would benefit from doing a “previously on…” recap, to jog people’s memory - like some American tv shows do, where if there’s something important to have a little fresher for upcoming story elements, they’ll put it in the recap. I’m sure you know what I’m referring to. Also, you said you liked good fights… well this is pretty much a drag out, knock down, no holds barred cage match. I think Choso may have gotten a very slight respect for Yuji for not trying to lie to him about the fate of his brothers instead of trying to soften the blow. Also. His technique is a little too uncanny because I think every single reaction you released today was blood related in some form. Mechamaru isn’t gone, apparently he was conserving energy - so e en though Choso broke the piece Yuji had I believe there are a few more that can be accessed elsewhere, according to what he says earlier. I’ve heard of crazy fights in the restroom but this is taking it to a whole different level…! 😅 You were trying to figure out why Yuji’s punch didn’t land, when Choso lifted up his shirt, it revealed he had coagulated some blood on his side into an armor like substance. Since it was under his shirt, water wouldn’t affect it directly. When Yuji was about to fall, it seems that’s when Sukuna noticed - speaking of which, that guy’s been TOO quiet. Also I can’t help but wonder if part of Yuji’s improvement is due to Sukuna in some twisted way. But after that Choso got flooded with memories, and according to the narrator, those memories did not actually exist. That’s why Yuji feeding Choso pasta doesn’t make sense, it never actually happened. My theory is Sukuna did something g to Choso, enough to the point it terrified his existence and he retreated without wanting to. As for the girls, I don’t remember what they looked like either but that’s as good a guess as any. There are no off the wall guesses on this show. Between this and the two episodes of Chainsaw Man you put up today, I’m guessing your brain’s sufficiently fried for the weekend? Hey, fried… Friday…. (I think the gag at the end was them practicing English…) I think we all just overdosed on MAPPA animation, probably should quit. 😂

A very action pacts episode! I don’t think anyone really knows what that ending part with Choso was. I thought Sakuna intervened somehow as well. Then the nonexistent memories fled I assumed he’s thinking of Yuji as one of them but honestly not sure yet. Also yes I think those were the girls trying to get Geto back. What they’re about to do, I have no idea. 🤷‍♂️ PS Love the earring 🎃

Hi Hime :) To begin with, I would like to say once again that with what we have just seen, we can still wonder if Yuji is human at this rate lol. But as Mechamaru points out, and it seems to me that I was trying to direct you on this, but it's strange that Choso has a technique manipulating blood, and that it is the specialty of the Kamo clan... A connection between the two? Besides, it is partly when Choso's blood and Yuji's blood mix, after Choso hits the wall instead of finishing Yuji, that the "false" memories enter Choso, so is it that the Yuji's blood is special or does Sukuna have something to do with it? Yet Sukuna himself seems surprised. I won't say more, I'll let you interpret what you want, but without being a sadist, I admit that seeing the confusion of "anime only" in this scene is rather amusing for us manga readers lol I would just end up saying that I had mentioned the fact that there are several impactful moments in this arc. To do like Evangelion, we will say that the "first impact" was Gojo being sealed and the revelation that Geto is not Geto, we soon arrive at the "second impact" and the "third impact" will surely be one of the hardest (it was for me). So keep hanging on... I'm not necessarily going to say that the sky will turn blue again later, but the rest is worth it.

Right!!! Ok cool, glad I'm not the only one then lol. Yeah I would have guessed Sukuna was involved but I'm not even sure how that adds up with the memories. That's how it looked to me too, like he pictured Yuji as one of his brothers? Ok cool, glad I guessed right on the girls! Who knows lol. Awww thank you!!! Tis the season for big glittery jack o lanterns hehe!!!

Hi Spadeas! :) Omg seriously, like how he keeps surviving is just beyond me! Ooohh yes you're right, I think there is some kind of connection with the Kamo clan maybe? What are the odds they'd both have that? OHHHHHH is that why he started having the memories? Because the blood mixed??? Lol I'm sure it must be pretty amusing to see people freaking out over this!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one, I legit just thought my brain stopped working or something! Whoa, the impacts sound pretty intense! I'll definitely trust the process here lol!! Thanks!

Hey Melissa, I arrived back home safely. It was an exhausting trip but I settled in well at home (thanks to my mom who did all my laundry and I could take care of my cat, I missed him so much). Now I found the time to watch your Reaction. I will comment on CSM tomorrow since it is pretty late here. What can I say about this jjk episode. Best single episode of an anime I've seen in a while, honestly. The animation was the best of the season so far and I loved how they used the neon lights, they really elevated the whole thing to another level. The variety of shots and angles also made the fight so interesting. Yuji did so well against Choso. But I also have to give Choso credit, he doesn't have that much experience in fighting yet he was able to hurt Yuji badly. Somewhere this is remarkable. I'm really a fan of giving credit to the hero as well as the Villian for good performances no matter what bad things the Villian has done before. The flashback scene of Choso also surprised and confused me. I also thought that Sukuna had to do with this. But that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe there is more to the memories than we think? Unfortunately, I already know the meaning of the memories. I'm an anime only but there are so many spoilers from Jjk on social media right now that it's almost impossible not to notice them. I think it's really rude that when people want to spread spoilers they don't even put a spoiler warning in front of their posts so people can decide for themselves if they want to be spoiled or not. I really hope you can stay away from spoilers as much as possible, because spoilers can really ruin the fun of the anime. P.S I unpacked my Jojo figures and they are thankfully undamaged. They don't look quite like the picture (at least Giorno doesn't) but that's not all bad. I'll tell you more on Monday and I'll add some pictures too. Good luck at your fair tomorrow.

Hey Bellana!! So glad you made it home safe, it sounds like the trip took a lot out of you! I'm so glad you were able to spend time with your cat!!! No rush on the comments, I totally understand the need to unwind from a busy travel time!! It was such an amazing ep! The animation, lighting, etc. was just spectacular like you said. I agree, I think one needs to recognize skill regardless of hero or villain, and Choso did a decent job here! There's definitely something more to the memories, and I'm glad I wasn't the only one trying to figure it out! Oh that's too bad about the spoilers!!!! As someone who avoids them at all costs that sounds devastating!!! I'm doing my best to avoid anything and everything right now! It's too bad that people post things without any warning though, that's not cool. So glad your figures arrived safely!!! It's always tricky to tell what the figure will really look like from the picture online! But I'm glad you're overall happy with them!! I can't wait to see pics!!! Thank you so much for the good luck wishes!! Have a great one :D

They already said the connection last season, it's not a spoiler. A Kamo from over a century ago created the Death Wombs, so he created Choso. There is more to it that is a spoiler, but that will be revealed later.

I didn't remember if it was specified that a Kamo had done it, I just wanted to leave that idea in the back of Melissa's head for later ^^.

I don’t think I can accurately describe how much I love this episode. It was almost completely just a fight but I think that description is a disservice because of how incredibly well done it was. I think it’s great how this show isn’t shy to show a lot of carnage because though it’s rough to watch sometimes for me it emphasizes the seriousness of situations in the show as well as how damaging attacks are. Everything in this is amazing the lighting, animation, music & voice acting but I think the lighting was the best part. Like all the sparks coming coming from broken electrical signs and stuff but it gets to an even higher level with the battle in the bathroom with blue lighting for Choso and red for Yuji which is the opposite of what you would expect for these characters as well as how once the fight starts we see constant switching between red and blue lighting for both characters because of how much they are moving around. On that note the animation for the movement of the characters really emphasizes how fast everything was happening, how chaotic this battle was because of the disadvantages/advantages both of them had like Choso not having much training, Yuji being much less durable as we see him get more and more injured, Choso having to become very adaptive, Yuji being a better martial artist and both of them being extremely strong as well as the small/cramped location they are in. I love how the facial animations & voice acting shows all the determination, resolve, anger and pain these 2 have and are going through during this fight which connects to how much I love a hero and villain doing/giving everything they have to defeat their foe realizing how strong the other is which is done incredibly here. Some really cool things were both of their cursed energy aura’s forming around them once they made their decisions to put their lives on the line as well as the moments when they got into stances & were sizing each other up without moving much to see who would make the 1st move it made for some great tension. I like how both of them had to be clever to have any chance of winning. I think it’s super interesting that the author had Yuji lose here since he’s the protagonist. Winning could have been a hurdle he overcame to show his growth but I think losing will make him even more determined to get stronger. On the memory stuff I’m also anime only so I also have no idea what’s going on. At 1st I thought it was 1 of the girls’s (and they are the girls connected to Geto like you thought) techniques to implant false memories but before I saw someone say this in the comments I actually noticed that the memory stuff with Choso started when his & Yuji’s blood mixed together so I think it must have something to do with Yuji’s family/bloodline which we still don’t know anything about since his grandfather wanted to talk about his parents and I have to emphasize this in episode 1. I also think we are supposed to be confused and not understand because it’s setting up for a crazy reveal in whatever the episode equivalent of 100 chapters from now or something like it. I personally think the girls are there to heal Yuji & ask for his help in freeing Geto in some way after seeing what just happened although I think you coming up with a crazy theory based on that is just what this show does to people LOL. Also I almost forgot to talk about the amazing music which I realized was the same song as when Yuji & Nobara killed Choso’s brothers but I didn’t realize it was a remix of just the instrumental without the vocals it even has everything slow down as the drum goes faster and faster leading up to the final blow which is so cool. Oh yeah and the art direction & point of view shots are incredible. One last favorite moment is Yuji pushing through the pain of his feet being stabbed to deliver a swift kick to Choso. Also Sukuna was both confused & intrigued by what happened this episode. His presentation completely in shadow just seeing his eyes is terrifying especially because he has not seen a good moment to interfere or do anything & if he hasn’t seen a good opportunity after all of this then what is/will be? I am on edge thinking about what he might do. You talking about this world being 1 of the worst to be Isekaied to made me chuckle because it’s a thought experiment someone else I enjoy watching has done in the past his reactions to different suggestions of worlds to be sent to are hilarious. Another anime only I saw had a theory that Nobara might lose an eye I think because of something in the opening & that idea terrifies me especially if it’s because she does something reckless because that would be a lesson she would have to live with for the rest of her life. One last thing while everything about this episode is awesome we should all be aware that Mappa has taken on a lot of projects and is likely mistreating its workers especially the animators which people in Japan have been protesting which might mean this show having another break which I am all for if it means better treatment for the workers but that is a problem with the anime industry but thankfully I have heard it has been getting better but probably not enough sorry for the downer. Awesome reaction & thoughts. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

I think you're right about the previously clip! It can be a lot to keep up with! Oh yeah, this is a big fight for sure! I could see the honesty leading to a degree of respect. Oh good, so Mechamaru is still around!!!! I'm glad! HAHAHAHA this was truly the holy grail of restroom fights :P Oh yeah, it was like crystallized blood or something, thanks for pointing that out. Oh yeah, Sukuna's been WAY too quiet, like what is he planning! Ohhhhh is that what happened with the memories?! Like those weren't actual memories replaced with Yuji? Sukuna's involvement makes sense. Yeah I think those were the girls! Hahahahah omg my brain was DONE after all that lol! Ohhhh they were practicing English? Ok cool lol. Phew, Mappa overdose for sure!!! Sorry this comment got lost in the shuffle, thanks for reminding me about it!!

kamenriderhime

It is SUCH an amazing ep in ever way, I couldn't agree more! That's so true that the voice acting, animation, etc. is all emphasized in just the right way. Ok glad I was right about the girls! Them doing something would make sense but the blood thing is even more interesting. It'll be really interesting if they're healing Yuji to get his help with bringing Geto back! LOL what can I say, this show makes my mind go places it shouldn't!!!!! XD No kidding about the music, I didn't realize that either! Yeah I'm curious about where Sukuna stands in all this too. LOL that's a fun topic to discuss, honestly there aren't many that would probably be super relaxing to get isekai'ed to! :P Oooohh that's a scary thought about Nobara!!! Sheesh. Ohhh I didn't know that about the protesting! I wouldn't mind a break if it meant the workers got treated better for sure! Thanks for making me aware! And thanks for your awesome feedback and support as always! I'm gonna be jumping into your other comments soon, so sorry for being way behind on them!!! ^_^
