Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 8 of Kamen Rider Gotchard!  Wow, that was a nice resolution for the Saboneedle story!  Whoever guessed that the malgam was the dad, good job!
That explains some of the extra harshness towards his son too, but I also feel like the Saboneedle experience taught them both a lesson and brought them closer!  So in the end, a Chemy actually helped more than hurt, if you ask me!  At least the kid got to keep the flower!!  Still lots of questions about the details of the villains' plans too.  And hey, Spanner even helped out with his cards on this one!  Can't wait for more! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) An episode ultimately not loaded with revelations, but which contains some interesting elements. Atropos calls Rinne "onee-chan". So it might just be to support her childish appearance since it's common for children to call older people Onee-chan or Oni-san. But since it means "big sister", I prefer to keep that in the back of my mind. I also noticed something with the malgam in this episode. During their transformation, when we only see a silhouette, the transforming human takes a position that lets its arms extend from the monster's body, without being the monster's arms. Hard to explain but once you see it, that's all you see. For example, Riku's father raises his arms as if to hold his head, after his transformation into a malgam, you see some sort of ornament at the shoulder level which is where the human arms were. Lachesis' arms are crossed in front of her during her transformation, and remain in front in monster form, but she also has plant arms. I have to look at the old malgam, because if it's there from the beginning, I missed it in the monster design and it's something really cool in the end. A simple idea but which well represents the fact that it is two individuals merged together. I can't wait to see what the three sisters are up to, because it doesn't look very good for the future at this rate.

Hotaro (in a Loki voice)I. HAVE. BEEN. FALLING… FOR SEVEN DAYS!!! And then, we fix the cliffhanger in the first twenty seconds (oh I could just do this!) I mean it’s a trope, but at the same time… did you really need to hang everyone out to dry like that? I got the sisters reversed last episode. Their names are Atropos (the short leader), Clotho (wears a midriff) and Lachesis (the Ch is a K sound - she was the nun costumes one and fought directly this week.) or just remember their names with the acronym ACL (hopefully you’ve never had one of those injuries!) Regarding the dad, I called it, but the signs kind of pointed to it - Kamen Rider might be a popular show but I get the vibe they’re not going to waste time focusing on side characters that don’t have a relevancy to the plot. That being said, it seems Riku’s dad was just hyper strung up and overworked and started taking out his stress on the expectations for his son - and he didn’t choose to turn into a Malgam, Lachesis decided to pose as a nun when he was trying to deal with his feelings, and he was transformed without his consent - which made things worse. Let’s look at Rinne for a minute - does she actually know the Abyssalis Sisters from somewhere? Her father definitely did. Is this an “I know who you are but I’m keeping that card for myself right now” or “I’ve met you before?” The only thing o can be sure of is they want malice for something… and I guess they… seem to have collected enough? Most of the rest is just different fight combos, although I wonder if Rinne’s desire to get involved is why Spanner changed his mind. But with that attitude of his, if he thinks he can make a play for her (still unsure about those intentions), I will go ahead and say “what a ridiculous joke.” Why DOES he keep saying that? Also why does Isaac (the iPad)’s voice sound somewhat familiar? It’s bugging me. Last but not least - Minato seemed to either be trying REAL hard to convince Hotaro he was in the wrong by saying his protection of Sabo and Riku’s friendship tarnished his bond with his dad when that’s clearly not the case - or there’s another agenda. Hey teacher, come back here, the class would like to ask you a few poignant questions… (it could also be the fan subs were slightly off, but there’s no way for someone like me to know that…) - we’re watching you Mr. M! 👀 So… anyone mind telling me what this Kamen Rider Christmas trope thing you’re referring to is about, now?

That was such a cute and wholesome episode. It was more cuteness than I could imagine. A kid playing with a cactus should never be cute but it is! Aw I hope Riku and Sabosuke get reunited by the end. 🌵 🩹☝️

I know right!! So wholesome!! Hahahaha who knew something so prickly could be so sweet?! :P I hope they do too!!!

Hi Spadeas! :) Hmmm, good point, there could be a double meaning to her saying onee-chan. Ohhhhh that's interesting about the malgam transformation!! I didn't notice, but I wonder if there's a deeper reason for that like you said. Yeah they're brewing some trouble for sure!!!

kamenriderhime

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect opportunity for a Loki reference and you took it!!! Thanks for the info on their names, the acronym actually helps so much haha! Thankfully I've never had an ACL injury but Buffy has one :((( (She's a mess like her mom!) Yeah you called it with the dad alright! Yeah the dad really had no ill intentions at all, he was in a bad place and Lachesis took advantage. Hmmm, that's a good question about how much experience Rinne has had with the sisters. They need that malice alright, seems like they're getting close to their goal too. YeahI think Rinne's the only reason Spanner gave up those cards for a bit lol. I guess that's his thing to say that lol, it's like his "yare yare daze"?! :P Ooh Idk, I'll need to look up the VA for Issac! Yeah I'm suspicious of the teacher now, ever since the memory swipe thing got introduced....!!!! Def keep an eye on that one! Ohhhhh the Christmas trope, sure! Well, because of the way that KR airs (pretty much all year round) Christmas is usually the halfway point of the series, just about. They also usually do a short break after for the New Year's holiday. So the Christmas ep is essentially a sort of mid season finale in a lot of cases. Meaning, if stuff's gonna go down, it's probably gonna go down in that ep. And this has been the case (with big bombs dropped like character deaths) many times in the past!!!! Hope that clears it up :)
