Hey everyone!  I'm BACK with more Spy x Family!  Here's my reaction to season 2, episode 5!  WOW you guys!!!  We're kicking off a whole new story that's full of antics, drama, etc.!!!  OF COURSE they all ended up on the same ship, because, well have you seen this show?!  I can't wait for the hijinks that come from Anya in this arc, and I'm really impressed with / curious about the deeper stuff they're doing with Yor here!!!  I'm surprised but really intrigued that she's thinking of hanging up her hat when it comes to her work (well, her WORK work anyway)!  Can't wait for what's next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Oh, I get to be first for once! WAKU WAKU! You are correct, Shopkeeper is the one giving Yor orders on the phone when she is Thorn Princess. I don’t think Yor would have quite as much of an issue as you might think if she really did decide to leave: keep in mind, the goal of the organization she works for is to keep the world peaceful. That’s the mission statement. Based on what I’ve seen so far, Yor only gets assigned when there’s no other recourse. I think the best way to compare Loid and Yor like you were is that Loid’s personality is decidedly internal (how many inner monologues does this guy have so far?) while Yor’s is decidedly external… she wears all her emotions on her sleeve. Oh, hey, no wonder you like her! 😁 I don’t think Yor really even thought about why she was working until she ran into Yuri - and that got her to start considering, is it really necessary for me to do this? She’s very good at her job, it doesn’t mean she enjoys it. “Your mission is to protect a underworld boss’s family member from Hitmen who are trying to kill her.” … … Why do your shows always seem to find a way to overlap on the subject, in the same week you’re watching them? It’s getting a little too bizarre. You know what the lesson is here - when trying to fix a contest, you probably shouldn’t think about the whole process when there’s a telepath right in front of you! Also it was always going to be the same boat. “You shouldn’t run into them unless we go to a common area.” “It’s probably safe for you to go outside.” “It would be ideal if they don’t know where or who she is.” See, guys… this is the disease known as Rimuru-itis - stop putting what you HOPE doesn’t happen into the universe! I think “Shaty” (her real name is slipping my mind at the moment is teaching Yor something about being a mom on that her kid can recognize her despite what she looks like. There’s just something that binds a parent and child together. In Anya’s case, there’s no way she’d ever mistake someone else for Yor, either. Speaking of Anya, is it at all concerning just how easily the Devil conscience got the better of the Angel conscience? You’re making “the face” again, aren’t you? “Papa! We need to enjoy the ship before it sinks!” Now that you mention it, I know you’ve not seen the movie, but this ship looks almost like an exact replica of the Titanic… 😬 But I’m sure it’s fine, right? In fact, the hardest thing on this ship might be getting Loid to relax…. Because that would be too easy, wouldn’t it? 😉

A really great setup here. This episode made it seem as though Yor never really stopped to think about why she working before. And Olga definitely is someone interesting to pair up with Yor. There’s a rough, never stopping lifestyle they both had. Some things are definitely going to come out of this assignment. Usually I think the villains will be taken down no problem but this guy at the end seemed to have an already different vibe from other’s we’ve seen so far.

My colleagues above have probably already said a whole bunch of things, but I would just like to add that the shopkeeper is voiced by Junichi Suwabe, in other words Aizawa (MHA) and Abbacchio (Jojo).

I agree!!! That's the thing, I think she's finally giving it some thought. Yeah I think it will be cool to see what comes of this pairing. They do have a lot in common don't they! Yeah you're right, I didn't like the vibes of this new villain, whoever it is!!!

WAKU WAKU!!!!! Yay! Cool, glad I got that right! Well that's a fair point, it's not like all they do is the assassination gig. Hahahah that's such a good way to describe them, no wonder I can relate! :P So true, we know that Yor's job means a lot to her for a lot of reasons, but that doesn't necessarily mean she loves it either. DUDE you don't know how confused I was getting and how close I came to making a comment about a Jojo reference because seriously, how did my shows perfectly align that way?!?!!? Not to mention that the Hitmen Squad in Jojo seems like they're gonna have some Phantom Troupe (HxH) vibes from what everyone is telling me. LOL yeah their first mistake in rigging that contest was to think about it in front of Anya :P Hahahahaha it's total Rimuru-itis isn't it lol!!! I think her name was Olka or Olga but I'm not sure. Yeah I knew instantly that there would be some common ground/bonding there because of the parenting thing. LOL for real I can relate to the way Anya's angel/devil system works though >:) You're kidding, that's so funny that it resembles the Titanic! I'm sure there's nothing to worry about :P
