This was a pretty big episode. Mahito has finally been dealt with, Yuji seemingly has a big brother now and Yuki is back. Also yeah that Mei Mei scene 😬 it’s uh, not great. Almost everyone who saw it cringed including people who were fans of her.

Lemonkatze

it seems possible that todo is just wildin or that yuji does have some kinda memory thing unrelated to him being choso's actual brother (since it happened twice but who knows) like it happens twice which implies a pattern but we also know that todo does have some p intense day dreams haha.

Lemonkatze

i think its kinda implied through choso saying kamo was body hopping to stay alive that choso means that for them to be blood related siblings he must have been possessing one of yujis parents when he was conceived

It’s not just you - I swear, every time a new episode of this show airs this season, it’s almost like I need a companion guide just to keep up with “what’s THIS?” or “who is that again?” I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but I feel like this is one of those series that kind of takes the retention ability of its audience for granted a little too much, and it would’ve benefitted from adding in recaps. As far as the title’s position? Eh, it’s all over the place. Could he before the title, after the title, before the end credits. It’s like being an Uber Driver, it shows up whenever it wants. So we finally learn what happened to Panda and Kusakabe when the meteor hit - Panda went into gorilla mode and Kusakabe is just lying under a tick waiting for his turn to enter the plot line. Apparently seeing Sukuna in action has made him a little skeptical about Yuji’s ability to control the curse. I mean… I can’t say I blame him. Well, we finally got the answers about Mei Mei and Ui Ui but… I did not see it going there. Apparently they used his technique to transport themselves into a hotel room in Malaysia… and she’s on the phone with someone who’s feeding her information… but it does appear she “abandoned” everyone else still fighting in Japan. Even WITHOUT the rather incriminating setting, my opinion of her dropped a little this episode… As far as Choso, Kamo and Yuji - for some reason Choso started to realize that he could sense what was happening to Yuji and became enraged at Kamo for “manipulating” himself into fighting his “brother…” I think my “interpretation,” and I could be way off… (manga readers can redo a page of a chapter a lot better than anime watchers to confirm something), is that whatever is possessing Geto, was also possessing Choso’s father when he impregnated his mother, because he said “I had three parents.” As for how that connects between Choso and Yuji, I don’t have a clue and neither does he. Gotta admit the line about Yuji emitting dangerous pheromones had me dying though. I guess it’s nice to know the show is self aware enough to throw a little levity in. The Kyoto kids showed up… not gonna lie I was a little concerned about Miwa, because I like her and this show has a habit of damaging likable characters - turns out Kusakabe and Utahime can at least par Geto’s cursed energy, even after he swallowed Mahito and powered up. So it appears that Kamo is able to utilize all the abilities Geto had, as we’ve seen him swallowing cursed spirits before for his “arsenal.” Apparently, Kamo Naritashi is enough of a threat that maybe Kusakabe will rethink his stance regarding Yuji’s execution…. The girl using the ice technique was the same one kneeling in the presence of Sukuna when he was in control earlier, so she is serving at his benefit, but I’m not sure how that applies to the current situation. In fact we could stay here all night, people with the manga could explain it to us, and us anime watchers would be like “say that again SLOWLY.” To pick up on the quote at the end of the episode, “I just want to crawl into a warm bed and sleep…” 😂 A couple of things to wrap up outside the episode: first, you aren’t dreaming, I have told you a couple times the finale is next week (23). And second… a lot of the animators at Studio MAPPA were expressing regret over how they’re work was turning out for the final few episodes of the series, and I’m like… “how on earth can you possibly think work at this level is not good enough?” I don’t think the series will be voted best of season, but best animation of the season - it seems like it would be almost a crime if it didn’t go to this show, I swear, it’s almost like they’re daring you to blink. 👀

Hi Hime :) Mei Mei says she is in Kl = Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a little thought for Nanami so... To keep it simple about Not Geto/Noritoshi, Choso and Itadori. When the one in Not Geto was in Noritoshi Kamo's body, he kidnapped women and made them reproduce with curses, adding his blood to force them into birth. The Kamo having techniques relating to blood, this explains why Choso and his brothers used blood in their technique too. Now regarding Itadori, you remember that I said several times "it's almost like he's not human". When we meet him for the first time, the anime emphasizes his physical abilities. To make it short, Not Geto/Noritoshi has something to do with Itadori's birth and that's why Choso considers him his little brother. It also gives an answer to why Yuji can control his body despite Sukuna, it's because his body is special. You'll learn more in the next arc, season 3, but even if it's a slight spoiler, it will leave you less lost if I tell you that ^^'. This is also the third shock I was talking about, it seemed to me that it was revealed in this arc, but upon rereading I saw that it was in the next one. So here are the three shocks of this arc for me: 1: Geto being "not Geto" and sealing Gojo 2: The death of Nanami and Nobara (still a little in denial for her) 3: Yuji being special because of Not Geto and being Choso's little brother When Yuki arrives, you can see in Not Geto's face that he's not really happy to see her, that means she's a thorn in his side. And if she was already known at the time of young Gojo and Geto, that means that she has certain abilities that made her known. It actually seems to me that the next episode will be the last, but clearly, it will just make you want to see what happens next.

Whooooooooo! Panda is fine!!!! Mahito is done! At least I hope so. That thing non-Geto used to try and blast Miwa with looked like a distorted Mahito in pain. 😈 I feel like we’ll see him again but differently. For right now I’m happy because it feels like the end of him. Woo! Okay so aside the gross whatever that was, Mei Mei just ditched right? From the convo she said she was close to dying so she’s now elsewhere. Idk if I should applaud that. I mean I’d do if I could. We know Kusakabe wants to go home. Don’t worry this was a lot of “what” for anyone. I feel like I’m doing a science with the knowledge we know and inferencing. Okay so there’s 3 Jujutsu clans that basically carry the jujutsu world on their shoulders: Gojo’s, Zenin and Kamo. The Kamo clan value tradition and social standing above all else. We get a bit of Kamo’s upbringing and background in either the baseball episode or the fight with Megumi in season 1. I forget the details but his mother was shunned. I think they used the word concubine somewhere but I don’t think I fully know what happened there. So Kamo’s goal is to take over and bring his mother back. He questioned why everyone hated her yet treated him fair. It’s because he inherited the blood technique. Think of it like Maki and Mai: if youre not already born with a technique you’re considered lesser than others. Even if a technique pops up later for you they won’t accept what they’ve already rejected. It’s a whole strict thing. Among the 3 main Jujutsu families the Kamo’s stand the closest to the higher ups in Jujutsu society with a profound family legacy and an empowered inherited technique of blood manipulation. However, the bright and prosperous history of the Kamo clan is tainted by one person. They touched bases a bit here on it: “the stain on the Kamo clan. The worst sorcerer in all history.” “Outlandish barriers and possession of outlandish curse tools…” Due to disgusting experimentation motivated by intellectual curiosity this warped pursuit of knowledge resulted in many cursed objects including the death paintings [Choso and his brothers- (although I still have questions how that actually worked?)] I’m not quite sure about the lineage of the Kamo clan but I think manga reads now so it’s all good for us watchers to be in the dark. To my knowledge this is supposed to be surprising. Even a bunch of the characters have absolutely no idea what’s really going on. And idk about Choso and Yuji being brothers. From past comments there’s that theory (was it a theory?) about their blood mixing during the fight so now Choso is having memories that never existed. I’m sticking with that for now because it’s the only thing I can think of. Yes!! Yuki!!! Wow she was talking to Geto last time not brains. And I’m hoping we see her and Toji interact I want to see how that’d go. Great episode! Can’t wait for next week. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!!! 🎁 💝 🎄:)

Hey Melissa, just one more episode to go and we'll have reached the finale of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. This episode was really spectacular. I was waiting the whole time for us to see more of Choso because I find him very attractive and actually found his storyline with Yuji very interesting. And am glad to see that they might be a family after all. Oh, I think Choso's powers are super cool. I think it's so cute how he wants to defend Yuichi and that he wants him to call him big brother. We also saw the end of Mahito in this episode. I have to say, I imagined it would be a bit better, because it happened quite quickly. And for people who really hate Mahito, I don't think it was really satisfying. But I have to admit that I felt a bit sorry for Mahito because the voice actor did such a good job. We've also now found out who probably possessed Geto's body. I have no idea who it is, but I'm excited to find out more about him. I'm also very happy that Panda and everyone else survived and that Yuki is now there trying to save everyone. I don't want to talk too much about the Mei Mei scene because it really disturbed me. I don't like incest scenes like that at all. I don't know why they have to include them in the first place. Mei Mei also lost a few sympathy points because she let everyone down and just ran off to Malaysia. We've already seen that she's a bit corrupt, but I didn't expect her to go that far. Next week we'll see how this season ends. I'm very excited to see what the last episode has in store for us.

kamenriderhime

I know, so much going on! LOL the Mei Mei scene.......... :/ Yikes! Glad I wasn't alone on how uncomfortable that one felt....!!

kamenriderhime

LOL I always assumed the Todo brother thing was just, well, Todo being Todo, but it does seem that Yuji is developing a habit of picking up brothers he didn't know he had along the way lol!

kamenriderhime

Ok that's what I was wondering about! It's never been said but that's the only thing that makes sense.

kamenriderhime

Hey Leonie! :) I can't wait for the finale! Choso's been really interesting to follow, and I know lots of folks find him rather easy on the eyes too hehe. His powers are pretty impressive and this whole brother thing is intriguing. Also yeah, his need to protect his brother is pretty sweet!!! So that was it for Mahito, wow! It was pretty quick actually. But the VA did a great job for sure, he evoked such emotion. We have another clue on not-Geto now! Yay Panda!!! I'm so happy they all survived! The Mei Mei scene was pretty gross :/ Also yeah, she bailed pretty hard on everyone didn't she. Who knows what's in store for the finale, can't wait!!!

kamenriderhime

YAY PANDA!!! YEAH Mahito is gone! You could be right that we'll see him again but maybe in another form or something. I mean, it does kinda seem like Mei Mei bailed, so I'm not sure how to feel about that too?? The whole brother scene was super weird and disturbing, let's not go there lol. I'm so glad I wasn't the only one trying to keep up! Thank you so much for refreshing my memory about the Kamo clan, I remember all that now, but didn't in the moment! That's interesting, so they're right up there but there's a big "blemish" on the clan's reputation, hmm. I guess we'll know more as they reveal it! That's a good theory about the blood mixing actually! YUKI!!!! Omg I'd love to see that interaction, and so true, last time she talked to actual Geto. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, hope you had a great one! Can't wait for the finale!!!

kamenriderhime

Hi Spadeas! :) Ohhhh that's such a good call about the little Nanami reference! Thanks for explaining all that about not-Geto! That makes sense about the blood manipulation. Oooohhhh I do remember you saying that! Whooaaaaa so there's definitely something going on with Yuji's origins then! Yeah those were all pretty big shocks alright. I'm so glad Yuki's gonna give not-Geto a run for his money! I can't wait for the finale!!!

kamenriderhime

I'm so glad it's not just me haha. Also I'm sure your own Uber Driver skills are much more structured than just showing up whenever! I'm so glad Panda and Kusakabe are okay! But yeah, I mean, looking at the destruction of Shibuya, it's hard to argue that Yuji's presence at the very least isn't dangerous. Yeah I don't think you're the only one who was shocked and disgusted at the Mei Mei thing lol, like I was trying to rationalize that maybe it was just out of context and that's not what was really going on, but it really did not look good :O And she also totally bailed on the fight, so there's that. I get it about the possession of Choso's father but the relation to Yuji is still a mystery - good interpretation of what we saw here though. HAHAHA the pheromones line was amazing! I wasn't sure about Miwa either but I'm so glad things are okay so far! It was crazy to see how not-Geto's powers work. Yeah that's true, we could be dealing with something worse than Sukuna here. I remember that girl! But yeah, this was a lot of moving parts going really fast, so it was a lot to keep up with! LOL!!!! That quote fits well! Ok good, glad to know that wasn't all a dream, thanks for the info! The animation this season was supernaturally superb!! I couldn't agree more!!! MAPPA outdid themselves, I only hope their employees can get some rest soon!!

Supermonaman

This episode was crazy. I think this show does a great job of showing destruction through its detailed animation. It’s nice to know that Panda is OK. I think Kusakabe was hoping no one would see him so he could hide & not have to fight. Even if you and many of us disagree with him and want Yuji to live you cannot blame him for going against Yuji after being in the presence of & witnessing the destructive power of Sukuna. It is disturbing & creepy to see the really wrong relationship between Mei Mei & her brother which seems to be probably just 1 of many ways to ensure her brother remains loyal to & continues to help her. Thanks to a video I watched I now know that this was the author’s way to show that she is morally bankrupt as a way to bring the corruption & stagnation to the story again there is a reason Gojo wants to change Jujutsu society. Also her ending up in Malaysia is a messed up comparison between her and Nanami with him being selfless, honorable & someone who would never abandon his comrades & she is selfish, disgusting & would abandon someone as soon as it suits her if it’s to her benefit. It’s the dark reality of the current JJK society that someone like her survives & someone like Nanami… Doesn’t. What a shame that someone so beautiful outside is so rotten inside. Also even if this was to show the corruption of this show’s world I think there is an argument to be made that the author didn’t need to go to such a length to show how terrible she was but I guess it was because there are people IRL who are this awful with being a manipulator/grooming & I would guess this is the author’s idea of the worst kinds of people in the world which is why they chose for her to be like this. This phone call seems to be about Mei Mei deciding that Japan is a lost cause & getting as much money as possible before the effects of this incident start to be felt. At 1st I was afraid this somehow meant she was a spy but after thinking about it I realized that would not make sense & that it makes more sense that she’s talking to a high-ranking member of sorcerer society who helps her make money with information. I honestly love how Noritoshi describes how versatile curse manipulation is because it shows how skilled Geto was with his abilities because otherwise I think it might have taken Noritoshi longer to get this high level with the technique even if he would have eventually got to that point. The idea of these centipedes that can slice you 2 pieces is horrifying. I love how determined Yuji is to save Gojo even bleeding profusely and struggling to move. Yeah he was a little vague but I think Mahito tried to attack Noritoshi here because he suspected a betrayal knowing that humans can be quick to turn on people having been born from the darkness of humans. You’re so right when describing Noritoshi absorbing Mahito as the traumatic version of a pokeball LMAO. Even if he will one day be born again it’s crazy to think that a great villain like Mahito will no longer exist in the same form as far as we know. Also the animation for him getting sucked in was incredible especially the colors of the cursed energy orb making it look like a miniature universe. Also let’s talk of the world to come is a wild/fire line for a villain to say. Uzimaki is the giant attack Geto used against Yuta in the movie in their final clash but it’s really interesting and scary to learn a deeper use/application for this ability which looks to include being able to gain a cursed spirit’s technique if they are of a high enough grade & that’s really bad when it’s a technique like idle transfiguration. It’s so interesting that Noritoshi starts to act like Geto with all the discussion and exploration of the soul and of the body & how they can be connected, not connected & somewhere in between with all the stuff involving Mahito, Geto & Toii. Also when Noritoshi notices Momo it sounds like the original Geto inside him sensed her & was trying to hide that from Noritoshi which I like and is interesting. I love the Kyoto students getting involved here & even though he’s just too strong and skilled for this to affect him the option works great & it’s admirable that they are trying so hard. I love the little moment we got of Miwa not wanting to be a burden on her mother when there was a line from her about being poor which is why she is a sorcerer to make money for her family & making their lives easier because many people in a financial situation like that have similar feelings. This is the strongest she has been because of the feelings going through her because of the experience of losing Muta and I think she probably could have beaten enemies of stronger levels than ever before unfortunately Noritoshi is way too much for almost anyone so being stronger didn’t do much for her. Also catching someone’s sword with your bare hands is downright disrespectful. It’s horrific but I love how detailed & abstract Uzimaki looks with Mahito added/being used by the animation’s just amazing. Thank goodness Kusakabe has a really strong simple domain & was able to save her by temporarily nullifying the technique. I like the little moment of Panda giving Yuji some comfort when he shows up after everything Yuji has gone through. Choso has an amazing and cool design but I’m still really surprised at how important he & the information about Kamo Noritoshi from the end of season one became this episode even if I did expect the whole thing at the end of his fight with Yuji would be resolved/explored at some point. It's interesting that the student Kamo we know is named after the worst sorcerer in history when he’s the heir of a clan maybe his name is a little rebellion from his mother who was treated badly by the Kamo clan but we don’t know. So yeah the guy who was called the worst sorcerer in history is the brain parasite & from his line saying that he has had many names I immediately had the idea that he’s even older than Noritoshi since I felt there was an implication that the original Noritoshi was also taken over by the parasite. Which in turn in my opinion means they must have had an original body/name when they were a sorcerer before they started body hopping & I am very interested in learning stuff like that from this villain. And also he made the original New the worst sorcerer because of his horribly messed up experimentation done on Choso’s mother as well as many other terrible things with cursed energy I’m sure. So yeah basically it looks like Choso is not just confused & Yuji is actually his brother(at least IMO) because of the interesting side effect that he can sense changes in his siblings & realized his connection to Yuji through that. And Choso is speculating that it involves the parasite jumping from body to body which I think would imply that either this parasite had taken over the body of the person who was Yuji’s father or the other option which is the parasite somehow conducted an experiment on Yuji while his mother was pregnant & during a short time growing up & I think there is some sort of hint even if I’m not sure what it means in the fact that Yuji has said that he has vague memories of his dad. Someone pointed out to me that Choso might have been limited in his 1st fight being in enclosed/tight spaces with the underground subway and then the bathroom because it really feels like he was able to go even more all-out with more space. Especially more easily using the piercing blood laser & being able to affect the environment more trying to send Noritoshi flying & the animation for all of his blood attacks is immaculate and really stands out too. Unfortunately once I saw Noritoshi smiling & not serious at all I knew Choso was not going to do much by himself even if he was giving it his all but seeing him pull off all these crazy moves like the blood rain and blasting himself back up with some blood orbs when he was knocked off the platform he created. Man I was hype when Choso & Noritoshi were using cursed techniques and martial arts at the same time especially Choso using great flexibility to use, piercing blood with his hands behind his back that was sick. Also that giant stone like spirit Noritoshi uses is based on a Japanese legend that the Thwomp enemies from the Mario games are based on. Maybe Choso would have been able to do more damage if he wasn’t so exhausted from his earlier fights. I love the voice that was given to Choso I think it works well for his calm moments and when he gets angry. Also I love him so easily jumping into the big brother role once he knows the connection with Yuji it’s strangely sweet & heartfelt even f he was our enemy like an hour ago. Panda asking if Yuji has special pheromones making people want to be his brother is the one off the funniest things in the entire show not just the season. If I had a nickel for every red and white haired character with ice powers I have seen in anime I would have 2 nickels but it’s weird that it’s happened twice LOL. It was awesome to see everyone getting ready to attack together before they were frozen. Also poor Kusakabe just wants to go home LOL. I think Noritoshi wants messengers to tell of what happened here & what he’s going to do to the rest of the world after this. I love Yuji coming to Choso’s rescue after the emotionally compelling stuff with his character. The call me big brother moment is great. I don’t know why but Uraume being mad that Yuji is using Sukuna’s body almost offended by it is really funny to me for some reason. I’m glad the show can still have humor even if it’s not often during this super serious arc. I really like the way this ice ability is animated it looks great. I was also not expecting Yuki at all if anything I would have expected Yuta to show up. But still what an entrance & time to show up. Side note just seeing her for a few seconds had me sweating because she’s very attractive. The reaction from Noritoshi tells us that Yuki is a big threat to his plans but part of that reaction feels like Geto which would make sense considering his interaction with her in episode 5 of this season. Also apparently Utahime is setting something up probably a powerful technique so we will have to see where that goes. There were no predictions in my brain after this except that there would be more insanity happening. Yeah I agree that there is still more to find out even with all the information we got this episode. I know there are people with not good memory but I disagree that a show needs to have recaps because I think it shows respect to the audience that the show wants to make you think but I do understand that it can be hard to keep all the information straight. Awesome reaction & thoughts and I hope you like this comment. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
