Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 12 of Frieren!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!  You guys, I was not only not expecting another Stark episode, but I REALLY wasn't expecting such a heartfelt tearjerker about his past!!!!!!!  So it makes a lot of sense that he was never even really a "coward" in the sense that he wasn't just fleeing from his village.  Of course his brother would try to save him :((((((((((  Omg I wanna hug him so bad!!!!  Knowing his past and that he never got a birthday presence seriously makes me wanna cry!  I hope that's the juiciest hamburg steak ever, he deserves it!!!!  Also, I LOVED the stuff about Himmel and the sword in this!!!
Wow!!!  This whole thing was so epic!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Sidebar, I can only imagine Fern is afraid Stark is somehow going to feel up Mistress Frieren as he carries her, which is probably the last thing on his mind. He's just trying to offer to do his fair share of the work while Fern attributes to him some very unwholesome motives that are really kinda mean.

Watching this episode, I recalled a one-shot I read long time ago. It's about a necromancer from the hero party. I don't remember their gender, so I will refer to they as the necromancer. The story open up with the necromancer leading their party back to their hometown after a battle with the demon lord. However, the necromancer is the only one not coming from the hero's hometown, so everyone else is coming from the same place, and they all gonna go to that place together. However, when the party reached the closest village to their hometown, they met with the hero's younger brother, and he find out that his brother is already long dead. He informed the necromancer who went away for a while to do some task, and the necromancer is surprised that their magic is running out in such a time, with that, the necromancer just reanimate the corpse of the hero like it was nothing. Turned out that the entire party was wiped out during the battle with the demon lord. Everyone else except the necromancer has died. And the necromancer don't want them to die in such a place. The necromancer remember how much they are proud in their homeland that they discussed during the journey. So they reanimate the corpse of the hero party and lead their way back home. The artist make us confuse by making the necromancer talking with the corpse, and switching to the time they are all still alive, so the reader could misunderstand until the twist has revealed. The necromancer asked the hero's brother to go back to town to prepare a celebration. And he do as the necromancer asked. After the welcome back celebration, the fallen heroes has reunited with their family for last time before they go to sleep forever. The necromancer was is such immense sorrow, for the fact that they had to stay with the corpse of their former comrade for the entire journey, remining them that they all died. Also, the reanimating spell is a dark art. They are certain that they are gonna be exile or being hated by doing such a thing. However, the townfolks, including the brother of the hero cheer the necromancer up, thanking they for return them back home. It make the necromancer feel a little bit better. After that incident, the necromancer continue to do their work. The necromancer would go see any hero party that have challenged the demon lord, for that the necromancer could help bringing those who have fallen back to their home. --- Himmel is not the only hero tp challenge the demon lord. I think that is certain. Because they speak like there're a lot more try to pull the sword before. And if Himmel is the only one who success, that's mean the rest has failed. Which reminded me of this oneshot. There is a doujin (fanmade, handmake comic) which take place during Stark's birthday. After Fern go out, Frieren just wondering what could she do for Stark. And she realize that she should do a hamberg. However, Frieren is always bad at cooking. Not as bas as Shion from Tensura, but Frieren usually rely on magic to do things, like putting tomatoes in the boiling pot of water, or slicing them up. They are all done using magic. Therefore, the food she prepare will turned into something soulless or come with side effect. Frieren once try to learn to cook after Himmel's party encourage her, however, it takes a decade for her to be able to cook something that is both good and normal. And by that time, it is implied that the demon lord has already defeated. Well, that's some fun fact I want to share with you about this episode. And I once again notice a ring. It was appeared once in episode 1 and in the opening, so I think it must be something important to her. Keep looking for the ring!

WHOA!!!!! That story is wild!!! I can totally see some of the elements at play here too. Very true that all the others had failed as well. OMG the comic sounds really funny haha, that sounds about right!!! :P Also makes sense with how we're always just not quite syncing up with our timing :/ Ooohhh yes good call about the ring!!!
