*Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen past this episode* I love that Rizzo picked up on the fact that what Charlie was describing was OCD. I read the comics and Solitaire so I knew already that Charlie has OCD, but as someone who also has OCD that's largely based around magical thinking (if I do x then y won't happen etc) I really related to what Charlie was saying about feeling like he had all these rules and I think it's a really affective but simple way of explaining OCD for people who don't have that experience.

Season 4 of Heartstopper hasn't been confirmed yet. Alice Oseman wants one final season which would also cover the final volume of the graphic novels and the novella Nick and Charlie but they don't know yet if she'll get it. It was renewed for season 2 and 3 right after season 1 so it could be this is the last season . I really hope it isn't though

the last scene in this episode absolutely broke me on my first watch😭and also i thought it was really funny how you said it must have been fun filming this bc of all the kissing because in one of kit and joes season 3 press interviews joe said that he actually got a spot/sore/scab on his chin because of the amount of kissing they had to do this season, i think they said they had to shave twice a day too because of it😭🤣we’re not sure either if it’s the last season yet, Netflix haven’t renewed it for a 4th season yet but Alice (the creator) has one final volume of heartstopper they’re currently working on and they’ve said that they want to release vol6 before a potential 4th season and they have been in talks with Netflix about a possible 4th season because alice has said they would only need one more season to finish the story so fingers crossed for another season!!

yeah i think we really need that last season just to wrap everything up really nicely, i think it may just be an issue in scheduling etc bc i think it was like last week Netflix released an article about the future of heartstopper and Alice said in the article that they’re having conversations with Netflix about season 4 it’s just a matter of sorting out volume 6 at the minute so fingers crossed, I don’t mind waiting at all I just want to know we’re definitely gonna have the last season😅

Yeah actually I did see something as well where she said she wants more time to write the season this time as well because she only had a 2-3 months for the last two and it was incredibly stressful. They want more time so they don't burn out again.

I don't think Isaac cares about the relationship...but to be invited to a group thing and all the people are coupled up and ignoring him. I think you are confusing Isaac being asexual and aromatic with him not liking folks in relationship

Oooh no...don't be sorry, I really enjoyed ya'll review. Loved your observations, I just think that many folks don't quite understand asexual and aromantic sexuality as a whole. So I can def understand how folks can think that though. Can't wait for the next episode reaction. It's literally my favorite episode of any YA series this year!

As someone with OCD I love how they portray it in the show. The first sign I noticed in Charlie was him constantly saying sorry as someone who has to compulsively say sorry. I don’t know if it was supposed to be his OCD or not but I related to it in that way. There is so much stigma/stereotypes around OCD, it’s nice to see a different and more realistic depiction in media. Also as someone who has had religious based OCD problems, thanks for opening up Rizzo :)

As someone who doesn’t have OCD, I agree that “sorry” seems to be a compulsion that he can’t really control. I noticed it here at the end and in ep 2 during the phone call

In this last scene I realized I also have a problem, I'm an addict and here I realized that I haven't told anyone the HOLE truth about it Now i'm on the prosses of getting the help that I need past my Psicologist and Psiquiatrist (i just made up those words, une does talk therapy, the other one give me pills)

I relate so hard to Charlie. We have the same diagnosis. It's an incredible step to take to want to get better because a lot of us aren't ready for recovery for a long time. Joe and Kit really brought their A-game when it comes to destroying us emotionally this season.

Btw, as someone who is aroace, I totally get where Isaac is coming from. My friend group and I totally drifted apart because they were all obsessed with relationships and got super involved w their SO and I just didn't share that. Friendships are hard to maintain, esp when you grow up and most people end up in long term commitments like marriage and kids, while people like me and Isaac generally don't. Asexuality and aromanticsm is a spectrum - there are aroace people out there who are in romantic relationships and there are people like me who KNEW even before we knew what aroace meant that we were never gonna want to have romantic relationships. Isaac seemed to have a fantasy about love in earlier seasons but I never did - and it was STILL really hard to accept that I'm gonna be ALONE. Like, when I'm 70, I'm not gonna have a SO or kids to look out for me. I think about that all the time. And I think about my friends who used to be so close to me drifting away as they start their own families and I get really sad about being left behind like I don't matter. These are all things Isaac would already be thinking about and, sadly, not something that he would stop thinking about if he's the same as me and just never gets into relationships. Because as much as they all say "we love you, we'll be there for you, you're not alone", 35 year old Nick and Charlie will be attending their kids' school events and going to their jobs and having a busy adult life, just like everyone else in that friend group. Most likely, Isaac will feel left out, left behind and the 3rd/5th/7th wheel ALL the time.
