They're not all going on the trip because Charlie is a year younger than Nick and so won't be going to uni as soon. Tori, Nick, Tara, Darcy, Imogen and Elle all just finished their first year of 6th form so will do their A levels next year and then go to uni. Charlie, Tao and Isaac all just finished year 11 and did their GCSEs (the exams we saw Nick do last year) and will start 6th form next year. Why are the final two years of school called 6th form? I don't know, I live in the UK but I'm not from here and I didn't go to school here, I've just picked things up along the way.

The show and the comic are now basically at the same place. Fingers crossed for a season 4!

To be fair Jonathan Bailey being in Heartstopper was leaked before it was revealed. If it hadnt been leaked I do wonder if they would have kept it secret until aired, like they did with Olivia Colman. No one knew she was part of the show until it aired.

I liked the symbolism of Charlie starting his concert without Nick and genuinely being happy and having a good time. Charlie is at a point in his recovery where it seems he is not so dependent on Nick emotionally anymore. I'm curious about a next season and how the storyline will change with some going to university. Hopefully there is a next season! 🤞

To be fair, with everything Johnathon Bailey has been doing, I don’t think he’d have time to do anything more than those scenes, and he specifically asked to be in the show because he loved the first two seasons so much

2024-11-28 10:04:53 I think they may have lingered on Isaac because it's another person in there "circle" who's getting coupled up...and maybe even Isaac didn't expect Tori to get coupled up.

2024-11-28 10:04:53 I really enjoyed this season of Heartstopper. I liked how they tackled strong mature topics but kept it's hopeful demeanor about it. Also they really gave great advice and scenes for the YA audience it's really targeted for. There has got to be at least 1 more final season from Netflix. Especially since Joe Locke is on the Marvel train right now and I'd think they have limited time before the Marvel train gets going full stop. Really enjoyed ya'll reactions to this season

i thought it was just because you can consider dating someone even as an aromatic person and not put labels on it, you can date someone and not have all the romantic labels that society often puts on things etc. and it feels like he's just still figuring out his aromanticism

In Solitaire (the book about Tori where Nick and Charlie show up for the first time), Tori is asexual/aromantic. I think that look from Isaac is him recognizing a bit of himself in their non-traditional relationship.

I just wanted to let you guys know since I saw a lot of branding comments, the graphic novel is very specific on showing Nick with vans and his sporty vibe and Charlie with the converse. So since season 1 that choice was very intentional, to make sure the show created the same world as the comic. I heard a podcast with the executive producer saying that he fought to get those brands on the show to make sure it matched the comics

Calling it 6th form is a holdover from the old numbering system, where you'd start secondary school (at age 11) in first year and do your GCSEs (or O Levels, back in the day) at the end of 5th year. If you stayed on for A Levels, the next two years were lower and upper sixth. Now the first year of secondary is called Year 7 (continuing to count on from primary school, all the way through), and A levels happen in years 12&13. I was at school when they started changing things over (in the 90s), so skipped from first year to year eight in one summer!

If you haven't read the comics. They dive more into Tori's sexuality. The author Alice Oseman had originally written a scene where she reveals Tori's sexuality. There's actually a clue about her sexuality in the scene. When there are a certain color fireworks behind her head while at the carnival. Currently there's not a new book out yet. So, no season 4 yet.
