-------------------------------

Reports have reached us through the Justicier of Aelbuch, of a most curious development within the city he serves.
It would seem that three days past a celestial body, fell from the heavens and struck the earth in the centre of Aelbuch, tearing a great fissure in the ground at the feet of the Statue of Saint Nija. Though few townspeople were injured in the initial impact, the statue would seem to have fallen into a sizable cavern that exists beneath the town.
The loss of a simple monument notwithstanding, the incumbent authorities are concerned, given a local legend that pervades the area. It would seem that Saint Nija attained her sainthood by sealing a magical door in the caves beneath Aelbuch, that had threatened to spew forth all manner of dark horrors upon the town above. And though she would die in the attempt, the door was sealed and, as legend would have it, she has been ‘standing guard’ over it for the last two hundred years.
Quite what this has to do with the arrival of a meteor is beyond me, but legend or not this is an important scientific discovery that requires careful study. I have sent a rider with instructions to the local magistrate to assemble a party and ready them to descend into the fissure to discover where the meteor has come to rest. I myself shall be travelling with all haste to Aelbuch to oversee the site on behalf of the Royal Archive. This is indeed the most exciting of days…..

Hi all!

I am very pleased to present our latest Dungeon Map, The Descent. This 4 level dungeon has got quite a lot going on, a grand statue, dwarven mines, mushrooms, an ominous looking meteor and, of course, a giant scary looking door!

This is our 4th and final major release for August and our theme of The Ultimate Underdark, thank you to everyone on our Discord Server that gave their input during the making of this one. It was a blast to work on and I hope you enjoy running your players through it!
