Happy Valentine's Day (Patreon)

If that is something you celebrate.
I recently found out why I like Valentine's Day. It's not actually because of all the love stuff but because of two reasons.
First, it is the first event in the year that motivates me to do some themed work. I found out for myself that sometimes, when I am in an art slump (and winter seems to be that time of year) that I have an easier time getting out of it when I have a theme I can work with. Inktober and Halloween are similar in that regard. Christmas, weirdly enough, is a holiday I enjoy for myself but I rarely draw anything christmas related.
And Second, it is a bit of the beginning of spring. It's not spring yet but you can feel winter slowly ending? If that makes sense. I often suffer in winter, it is cold and the days are short and in Vienna we tend to have very grey winters, lots of fog.
Also sweets. I love sweets <3
I said that I wanted to share some of the cards I made in the last few years but it was harder than I thought to grab hold of them. I have no idea where we put them, so here is a bit of an outtake.
The two bats and the bee with the sunflower were made to be printed and sold, but I found out that is nearly impossible to get them printed properly so the folds and everything fit. The paper a friend of mine recommended also really did not hold up to handling so I still have some of these cards at home. The bats are fine but the bee, since it takes a lot of handling to be assembled, really did not work out so well. It is kind of sad and I thought about assembling or framing the original paintings of the bats and the bee and sell them this way/keep them. I still really like them even though they are three or more years old.
The Avocado is the most recent. I made it last year and I still love the idea. I am a bit sad that I did not keep the video of the stream I made it in. I hope to do more streaming this year, it was kind of fun but also such a time commitment. Do you like to watch streams?
The otter I made 2014, which was six years ago. That is crazy... It was the inspiration for this years otter illustration.
The bear is from 2015. As you can see, these older ones are a bit more gorey than recent cards. It's also because I am slowly running out of puns to use.
I hope you have a great day.
If you celebrate it or not. Most important thing though:
💖 Treat yourself! 💖
