Time for a movie retrospective to prepare for Godzilla vs Kong! Time to venture back to 2005, and re-visit Peter Jackson's King Kong which follows director Carl Denham (Jack Black) and his crew on a journey from New York City to the ominous Skull Island to film a new movie. I've never seen a King Kong film (despite the countless homages to it flooding pop culture). Is this the first time there's been a King Kong/Godzilla crossover?

I did not enjoy the King Kong movie when I rented it back in 05/06 whenever it came out on DVD, I thought it was bloated and anything good about it was diminished by its excess. Except for Andy Serkis, he’s just an incredible visionary and deserves all the Oscars. I loved this conversation though and made me rethink some things. I don’t know if I’ll revisit it to take 3 hours on a movie I didn’t like the first time, but you guys raised some great points!
