I notice you guys make a distinction between aliens and monsters. But I don't think the line is always that clear. I think it depends on how they're used. For example Audry 2, the Rankor, and the Thing were all aliens but that didn't seem like something that really struck anyone as incongruent. Also the various monster in tremors movies. They feel like a way to justify playing the floor is lava as a kid.
