Commission WIP 7-18-2017 (Patreon)

I'd really like to start posting more progress pics here to 1.) Hold myself accountable for my work and 2.) Let you see the sketches and roughs I'd probably never post anywhere else. Lol.

This is a commission of an upset Horuss being comforted by Kurloz ;;n;;

My goal is to at LEAST get this inked tonight, if not completely finished, but if I don't make another progress post before 5AM, that probably means I couldn't finish inking it. :(

I've been using this new brush for the base sketch, and most of the time, I can jump straight from that to lining, but as you can tell here, I needed a more refined sketch on top of that one. We can't always get it right the first time!

I was having trouble understanding the pose I was trying to draw. It doesn't do me any favors that I'm using literally zero reference for the pose, but sometimes, if you're anything like me, you're just too stubborn to go find something you can work with. I, personally, prefer to use as little reference as possible to really work out that muscle. If you ever wonder why some of my hands/poses are much better than others, it's normally because I'm using reference for some of them. LOL. Not all of them though. SOMETIMES, muscle memory works miracles. ;)
