So I missed May the fourth be with you but there a sketch here for it. The past few days I've been on a sketching extravaganza! I can't deny anymore that drawing with pen and paper is just different. Digital can mimic drawing on paper but for some reason I draw things different on paper than directly into the computer screen. Something flows a little easier on paper. All of these drawings are pencil and ink. I think the paper is calling me back to a style of drawing I enjoyed so much when I first created Akumi.

In other news, I found a company that still prints Blu-rays. So I just got a new shipment of Akumi Blu-rays the other day. I only have 25, I'm keeping one so I actually only have 24. I will make an announcement about the new stock later.

Dang top right is cheeked up! Love the faces on all of them. Ive been struggling myself with getting appealing face shapes

Thank you! So much easier to get things to look how I want on paper. I started adding the pointed chins again. I lost that for a while. Really having fun drawing these curvy girls!

These girls are definitely not skipping any meals, definitely a lot more curvier and have fuller shapes; looks great! I agree with your sentiment on pen and paper drawing, these look very smooth and very expressive.

miltoniusarts

Thank you! Yep! I've officially come full circle back to my original Akumi style but with a modern twist. It's fun so I think I'll explore this a bit longer. We'll see how I can evolve this curvy girl style.

Sketch Dump Sunday again has returned. 🥳 These designs are definitely going back to those '04 designs I remember growing up seeing, with a nice modernize look to them.

Thank you! Yes indeed! I'm feeling that same energy from back in those days sparking again. Excitement to draw. There's something here. This is my next path of art!

I gotta ask, when you sketch do you start of using blue pencil buy doing a rough outline then ink with a pen by chance?

miltoniusarts

Yes, it's technique used when hand drawing animations. The blue pencil doesn't get picked up on copy machines. So animators would rough out the animations in blue pencil before doing cleanup lines.
