The sorceress doesn't need to study books to learn magic, her magic is innate. It's a natural part of who she is.

This drawing came out so easily for me. This sort of illustrated/cartoon style is something I've always been drawn to, pun intended. I've always like contrast, clear distinction lets my simple brain see things clearly. Beautiful/ugly, small/big , soft/sharp, painterly/illustrated. I can't go middle of the road, I have to go outside the "lines".
