I think this is more proof that Mark Millar’s comics work better as movies, in the hands of other people, than they do as comics. Even as balls to the walls nuts as this movie is, it’s super restrained when compared to the comic. It knows where the line is, and how to just cross it without becoming offensively stupid dreck. Here’s a wild fact… in the Millarverse comics, Wanted, Kick-Ass and another comic called Nemesis have all crossed over and Kick-Ass and his group of super heroes including Hit-Girl are going to war with Wesley, the lead character from Wanted. It’s really dumb and shows a severe desperation for relevance in a world that just does not care about extreme comics anymore.
